I watched this and it was awesome. Thanks for the recommendation! Netflix then suggested What the Health? and so I started watching that. I must have missed something somewhere, because everything in that documentary proposed the exact opposite of a ketogenic diet? And said sugar is not the cause nor the problem behind…

SO. I've been not-entirely-rigidly-but-mostly doing keto for a week now, and today the scale reported a loss of 4.6 lbs! I KNOW. I know this is mostly if not entirely water weight, and I am certainly not anticipating this kind of loss throughout my weightloss journey, but this is the first time in two years that the scale…

Thanks, everyone! I have about 100 lbs to lose, give or take. I don't think my body is structured to ever be super thin, and I don't want to be super thin, just not obese (I've been overweight my entire life). I feel like it is imperative to my health to get my relationship with food under control, and from what I've read,…

@River_Goddess oooh, okay, thanks for explaining IF. i think i do that unintentionally right now. i've also been going to bed earlier because i used to stay up late and binge terrible food while watching netflix. now i know that if i stay up super late, i'll just get hungry and cranky and i should be working on my sleep…

@dangerousdashie thank you for responding and providing additional pointers. i'm really impressed by your 1.5 years of 1.5 years of straight up keto. that's super cool. i'm on day 4 right now and i sort of want to punch everything, so i keep checking back with this group for additional inspiration, haha. i'm doing okay,…

@ironmaidenchick congrats on the weight loss and overall health improvements! forgive my ignorance, but what is IF?
-
@River_Goddess that's incredible! i'm really inspired by this and happy to hear about the additional health benefits (i.e., hormones, overeating, etc). Thanks!

@stacybaker707 nice! feel free to add me if you need more keto friends!

@kpk54 thanks so much for the helpful advice! i like the simplicity of "keep it simple."
-
@AnvilTime nice job with your weight loss! thanks for responding

@ScottW3142 that's awesome! I'm really excited to hear that your energy levels went up. I'm not experiencing fatigue yet, but I'm sure it will happen. It's nice to know there's light at the end of this.

When I was a kid, I had a paper route in northern Minnesota (uphill! both ways!), and since, for 9 months out of the year, I was out walking around at 4 in the morning, in the dead of winter, carrying a 20 lb bag, I can attest that it Can Be Done! Invest in a base layer, proper footwear, and a ski mask. You'll be fine.…

I caught a glimpse of my reflection in my laptop screen yesterday and...collarbones??

Oh! Great job on resisting! The last time I had McDonalds, about a year ago, I felt deeply hungover the next day -- and I did not have a drop of alcohol the night before. It is just toxic nastiness. Good riddance.

Hahahaha, you're hilarious. And gdamn, well done!

dang! you look amazing! what a difference!

I just joined a couple weeks ago and was doing once/week and even that was somewhat discouraging. If you're not easily put off by the number on the scale, once/week is probably fine, but I'm going to switch to once/2 weeks or even once/month. Good question, though; I'm interested in what others have to say.
-
Wow, you look fantastic! And I like your tatts. Way to go!

^^ Agree! This thread is tremendously discouraging. Red flags everywhere. I do not think the "you do you" mentality here is appropriate. The amount of self-loathing involved in this type of drastic weight loss, untenable vanity goals, and completely unstable relationship with food is actually tragic. The defensiveness of…

Wow, you look absolutely stunning! Great work so far. If you want support, feel free to add me as a buddy. :)

Aw, they look awesome on you. Great job, and nice thrift score.

YES! I agree 100%. I was "with" WW for a year or so and I only gained weight. I think the problem for me is that it didn't make me accountable ENOUGH, especially with the Points Plus program. I have found that MFP makes me acknowledge every calorie (if I log, which I do, because why wouldn't you), and that has helped me…

Congratulations! That is so inspiring to hear. You've come a long way!

Oh my, where to begin. Apart from the general daily embarrassment, a few key situations helped motivate me: 1) About 5 months ago, when I was 10 lbs LIGHTER than I am now, I was standing in my driveway, about to get into my car, when a group of kids walked by and one of them yelled, "HEY FATTY!" Another kid tried to hush…
