Hi Maggie. 1200 is very standard for a female wanting to lose weight. Yep, you will feel very hungry!! Aim to split your day into three main meals of about 300 calories each and then 2 snacks of no more than 150 calories each. The reality is that most of us eat much more than we need. Generally speaking, if you burn more…

Hi TBrain. I find that planning is the key. Sit down on the weekend and plan your meals for the week. Weigh everything ..... and I mean everything, so you are getting an appropriate calorie count. It's amazing how small amounts can add up. Decide how many calories you want to expend on your main meals (for example 400…

Start with walk/run. Walk for 5 minutes, run for 1. Do this 4 times. Just make the run a comfy jog. The next week try walk for 4 1/2 run for 1 1/2 etc. before you know it, you are jogging for 5 minutes without stopping!! If t hats too big a step up, start with walk for 9, jog for 1. I love running. I feel free when I am…

I get it really fiercely if I eat in the evening. Anything after about 5 pm has me suffering. My only solution is not eating after 5!! :)

I am 5'1 and currently about 130. Would be happier at 120.

Well I don't know you or your fiancé, but what I can say is I believe you should only use kind words that lift others up. You cannot unspeak an unkind word, nor can you undo the hurt it causes. Everyone should stop and think before they speak. My husband and I exercise together but there have certainly been times (due to…

How tall are you Starsandsass??

No melleyshelley. You need a certain number of calories just for your body to survive. Then you need to eat less calories than that if you want to lose weight. Exercising will speed up the process, but what you put into your mouth (or how much) is really important.

I don't eat back my exercise unless I am doing more than 2 hours exercise for the day. Then I eat back SOME or I feel too weak. Stick to your calorie limit and if you can, treat your exercise as a bonus ( that is, don't eat extra unless you need to). Try and think of what you are doing as a lifestyle change for a healthy…

Oh darling. I wish I could give you a big hug....... I think you need one!! As others have said, focus on yourself. Your husband's issues are his. You need to get yourself emotionally well so you can be a great role model for your children. As others have said, log ALL of what goes in your mouth for a week. That will give…

I am 5"1 and 130. Want to get down to 115. Sometimes it feels impossible when you are small!!

I don't eat my exercise calories. I treat them as bonus burn! I set myself to sedentary, but because I am quite small to start with my calorie intake is super low (around 850 cals). If I have a heavy exercise day (I do long distance triathlons so have some very long training days) I allow myself extra calories.

Yep, also a perfectionist and also beat myself up a lot!! The funny thing is, I am very forgiving of other people's imperfections just not my own. I do long distance sports. The way I manage it is to have my program for the week stuck on the kitchen bench. I cross off each session as it is completed. If I choose not to do…
