  • oops never mind! posted the same thing as someone else.
  • I'm about 5'10, and my highest weight was 175 and my lowest was 130. 130 was far too low (that was a size 4 for me) and it wasn't healthy or maintainable. My "happiest" weight was about 140-145. I am currently 160 (about a size 10) and I would like to get back to 150 or maybe a little lower.
  • Thank you so much! I think I almost broke my hand trying to open it with a coin, and then as soon as I used pliers - done!
  • Same here... everything is a little larger on the right side (and I'm right handed). My foot size is bit bigger, my thigh is a bit fatter, my breast is larger and my fingers are bigger (I can't wear my wedding ring on my right hand, my ring size is a whole size larger!)
  • Bonjour! I live in Montreal too! :) I can add you, but I am on here very sporadically lately! Welcome and good luck!
  • So you're trying to lose more weight? I wouldn't stop working out - there are so many benefits to working out than just losing weight. Depending on the types of exercises you're doing, you may be changing the shape of your body, but not seeing the numbers on the scale change. Are you taking measurements too? :)
  • I'm just finishing my PhD in Human Genetics. I defend in two weeks from today! (There's me submitting my thesis!) It took me almost 7 years to do my PhD, but I didn't do a Master's so the timeline was extended a bit. For the person from France who did their PhD in Molecular Genetics - it is easy for the French to move and…

  • I go to the Y on Parc.
  • Be nice to each other! Don't fall into the trap of talking to each other in a way you'd never talk to a friend or stranger.
  • Not sure about health-wise (depends on what dishes you get and how much of them you eat!) but some of my favourite restaurants are Ouzeri, on the corner of St. Denis and Gilford; Griffintown Cafe, on Notre Dame (near de la Montagne) (bonus - good live music on weekend evenings!). And the bison burgers at le Comme Chez Soi…
  • Please describe the Curly Girl method!! I'm up for anything that will help with my hair! :)
  • I'm about a 40.5" bust, 30" waist, 40" hips. I'd be happy to go down a couple inches in all three of those places :) I'm 5'10.
  • Not everyone can have all manner of food lying around and not over eat! If I have something tasty in the house, I can be good for a day or a week or a month but eventually, there will be one night where everything goes down the hatch. Not having it around simply takes away that possibility. And when I'm ripping the house…
  • Do you think maybe wrapping a bandage or gauze kind of tightly around your thigh, covering the blister, might prevent more chafing? Maybe you could work out if the skin won't rub? It sounds awful! I hope you can find a solution! :)
  • I always reread "The Stand" when I'm up for something apocolyptic (Stephen King).
  • I like the visual appeal of the blue, but I like the way you look more in the white... if that makes sense. It might just be your pose. You look better in the white, as far as those two pictures go... but if i was just looking at the clothes, I'd pick the blue. Long story short, I think both are great. Good luck!! :)
  • OK, I haven't read them all, but my advice is to be nice to each other. It can get easy as you get comfortable to take the other for granted and say things that you wouldn't normally say to other people, or give an attitude when you're in a mood. If you wouldn't speak that way to a friend, don't speak that way to your…
  • I live in Montreal and we don't have a car, so most of our groceries are done in bits and pieces at the stores within walking distance. While there are some great places to go get specific items like fruits or veggies, the other stores around me are really overpriced. It is annoying!
  • I try to buy the non-brand name kind and if it's on sale it's still $5. Then again it could be where I'm living... my parents always get better deals in the suburbs than I do!
  • I hear you! Also Canadian and I have a hard time sticking to $400 for two of us. That being said we do enjoy expensive cheeses sometimes :) But milk is ridiculously priced, Greek yogurt is $5/tub and peanut butter is $7.50 a jar... aie! When I was in Germany a few months ago, a litre of milk was 50 cents. We ate like kings…
  • bumping this so that I can come back to look next time I need to buy a suit!
  • I can ask my husband and get back to you - he grew up in Louisiana! :)
  • My understanding was that it was a stocking shift, the store was closed to customers at that time, and she was wearing the equivalent of a tank top. I'm pretty sure when we had those shifts we could wear what we liked...
  • Honestly, I had a boyfriend once who did the exact same thing. But looking back, I can see what an *kitten* he was and how controlling he was always trying to be. I don't know anything else about your relationship, but from the way it reminds me of my ex, it makes me shudder and I want to tell you that it's not worth it.…
  • Welcome and congrats on your 19 lbs!! That's fantastic!!
  • Agreed, if it's for a short amount of time, focus on eating right and sleeping. But I don't think it's a valid excuse for people to use over their whole lives -ie, "no time". It also depends on how much sleep you need - some people need 8, others are fine with 6.
  • I find the more I mix them, the fluffier they are.... also, I take them out of the microwave right away and dump them on a plate (although I'm sure you could eat them out of the mug) - I found once if i left it in the microwave while I attended to something else, they got flat and dense. I've never been a fan of eggs, but…
  • LOL the only microwave recipe I have, and was going to add, was also eggs. I crack 2 eggs into a microwavable mug, add 2 tbsp of milk, and beat with a fork. I nuke it for 50 seconds, take it out and add some shredded cheese, mix again; nuke again for 60 seconds. Yumm!!!
  • I order veggie pizzas with no cheese... I love it so much!! yum!
  • Yes, but even at my ideal goal weight I'd probably be a few pounds more than him, or maybe just equal. I'm a bit taller than him and he's naturally quite thin!
