I change my meal plan to meet the needs of the day so I get closer to eating all my calories. For example, my cardio days I eat normal (1600) and I am usually short by maybe 200 calories. On strength + plus cardio days, my meals are much heavier to re-coup my strength and keep me from getting HUNGRY LATE AT NIGHT!!! Mind…

GREAT JOB SO FAR!!! I am 51; with coronary artery disease and osteoarthritis of the knees. Started at 286 in July, began walking, now at 223. I walk over 100 miles per month now and do light strength training at the gym. No problems with my diet, other than the fact that I have a bad habit of NOT EATING! Of course doing…

Ditto; its accurate (pocket or hand) and you can turn the GPS off to save your smartphone battery!!! The Con: it doesn't link w/MFP.

Your Cardiologist is the best source. I have had several stent procedures over the last 5 years, and after each one I waited 30 days before getting active. I suggest you "Google" a few cardio-rehab articles and get an idea of what are the available exercises that are safe after discussing an exercise regime w/your…

Meds: Atenolol & Lisinopril Just fantastic!; TINURSE; Yes that's the HR swing I am getting on treadmill workouts!!! However, do you think I am getting the same protection with the weight training? @Tidesong; My resting is in the Hi 60s; and I generally can push my HR to 122 on the treadmill which distorts my speech but is…

My BP pills (dosage) won't allow my blood pressure to run the full gamut of fitness extremes (of course for my protection). For example, annually a Nuclear Stress is administered bc the Treadmill test is useless. Now this is not a big deal for my normal fitness regimen of Walking/Trail Hiking. However, I do some weight…

I am deceptively heavy, not the classic V shape, tailors refer to this as "barrel chested" -thick-torso. That being said, some women are built similar, from "my eyes" she looks like she has a "swimmers' body" (broad & thick shoulders) but lean.

I workout 6 days a week, (6-cardio, 3-weights), consuming 90-95g of protein per day. My problem is I don't eat enough Carbs. Most of my Carbs come from legumes (beans) (lunch&dinner), so I understand your frustration with balancing your diet plan. I agree with dunlunicor, if you feel "good" and not overly fatigued or…

I am a newbie too; and 80lbs to go, and also the big problem, I DON'T EAT ENOUGH! I have even stop smoking (cold turkey) since joining the site and still can't eat enough to max out my daily calorie allowance! I am a walker, so I do burn a lot of calories also. However, I have no problem losing weight, it's keeping it off…

New to MFP; shooting for 50 in the next 8 months. Into walking, but don't mind chatting about my diet plan and providing encouragement. Ditto; friend me if you like.

I love bananas (594mg) but its too easy for me to go through all of them in 2-3 days. So I drink, Pure Naked Coconut Water, 35 cals per 8 oz, and has 440 mg of Potassium, after exercising instead of Gatorade or grabbing another banana. If you have never tasted it before it takes a minute to get used to.
