Just ordered mine from Amazon - should be here tomorrow. I hope the heart rate monitoring is accurate; for $20 extra vs. the regular Charge, I'm willing to risk it. Really I'm mostly excited that it'll actually display the time of day on my wrist - that's the kind of revolutionary thinking that's contributed so much to…

Firefly to have never been cancelled.

Leaving Las Vegas.

Sorry I don't have my images hosted anywhere I can link to; my main profile picture is from last weekend (end of April 2014). The other picture in my profile is cut from my wedding picture in 2008; I was at that weight, plus or minus a bit, for the intervening period until I started working out a couple of years ago.

This is why my workout routine includes scale presses.

Those exercises are both on my workout routine (along with regular squats and deadlift shrugs). I assure you they're effective, at least in terms of making your leg muscles hurt. Bulgarians must be some big-legged mofos.
-
Nah - still doing the normally-aspirated weightlifting.

When I was getting started, a friend recommended that I concentrate on breathing out and let the breathing in go at its natural pace. Now that I've been running a while, I usually fall into a rhythm of 2 steps out, 2 steps in. Your respiration will get more efficient as you keep at it, I think.

If money's no object, I'd say either one of the Expresso fitness bikes (which video-gamify your exercise) or a nice regular bike and a resistance trainer that, ideally, does the same video-game thing. The graphics aren't amazing, but it's enough like a "real" bike ride that you don't get bored (if you're me, anyway).

Also, to never be a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

I've found that, if you're using the machines, you can get away with just getting the sensor strap. I bought a fancypants one (replaceable battery, fabric strap) for around $60, but you can probably get away with the T31 transmitter strap (non-coded, non-replaceable battery, plastic strap) for around $40. Most pro/gym -…

The double rich chocolate is excellent.

My Mom used to make mayonnaise, peanut-butter, pickle, and onion sandwiches. They're still pretty good without the mayonnaise; the peanut-butter and pickle flavor combination is really interesting.

Like I like my coffee: Strong, and artificially sweet.

Bulgarian split squats - man, those Bulgarians must have some big freakin' legs.

If you can take a picture of yourself on the spinning bike the way it was set up when you hit your knees, the community folks might be able to help you out with adjusting your bike so this doesn't happen again. I've never managed to hit my knees on the handlebars during spinning class, and I'm pretty bad at it.

I agree - mine went away when I got new running shoes.

I heard that donut calling Fitnessbabe90's name and needed to save her from it.
-
You can add me, too. I'm 40 and have been here for a year or two.
-
Fine. Now I hate you, chocolate-that's-not-available-to-me-having person.
-
Hey - I do what I can to make my twiggy legs sensual. Shaving, parachute pants, whatever.
-
I think it is my business, but only because I've never heard of Twirl bars. Are they good?

I just finished up the break-in workout (again, after recovering from my wrist injury). I'm resting for the remainder of the week, or at least only doing cardio. Next week I start HT1; I'm pretty excited.
-
I'm doing pretty well - ran in the St. Paddy's 5k recently and turned in my best time ever in a race. I could do without the cold weather, though.

I used the Jefit app to log my weight workouts; it includes a timer that tells you when to start your next set. If you are listening to music on the same device, it beeps at you to tell you to start up again. Same idea as setting a timer, but might be easier to keep up with.

Just two, but they move _really fast_. :)
-
Add me if you like. I'm on pretty often, log everything (most days), and am really active. Ever since I got a Fitbit, my exercise logs are pretty boring, though. :)

Chicken breasts are pretty popular as a cheapish, easy-to-prepare protein source.

That cat doesn't look a day over 4.

Moved up to big-boy plates in the barbell squat. I was pretty happy about that.
