I'm SO glad I found this thread. I am up about 6 lbs 1/2 through stage 1. It was shocking to see the number on the scale. But DUH, I forgot that it's both common and normal. But I hear you, after losing 21 lbs, gaining back 6 made me feel like cr@p. Whew! Feel better now.

LOL. I'll attempt a small increase and see how it goes. Today I DID want to die during the lunges. 30lb on each arm was a bit much. And even 25 was killer during the 2nd set.

The Chicken Cilantro mini wontons. Those in some chicken broth (flavor with scallions, soy sauce, a smidge of toasted sesame oil - also at TJ's) is a light, fast dinner. I love it with a salad. And you can't find a better PB unless you grind the nuts yourself. :)

bump, good questions.

Yes, as others have said: it's important to hit your macros and micros. Do that first, then fit in the less nutrious/still delicious foods you like. Genrally advised to be no more than 20% of your calorie goal. Once you get into it, you'll find a balance that works for you. I love cereal, and there's nothing wrong with it…

That's wonderful and funny and amazing! Great work. :)

Your schedule sounds very much like mine. I was at Light originally but quickly realized that was too low. Switched to Moderate. Happy and losing. Good work!

you said frack! i thought it was just me and the hubs. :)

Nom. Had to troll all the dollar stores near me after poptart/ice cream giggle-fest the other day. Settled for a Cherry Frosted today: the bomb. Much love to the sane peeps on MFP. Sara, you're my hero.

What's in my snack cabinet for motivation? (Or snack de-motivation, as it were.) Pictures of 40-something actresses looking GOOD in their bikinis!

I have this on my desk! I saw the idea on Pinterest. I'm *this close* to having more in my LOST jar than in the "still need to lose" one. That's a big milestone for me. Hope to hit it in the next week or so.

that's so great! well done, you!

Hm, these are my ideas: Could you pre-look up some cookies that might be there? So you know which ones might be less calorie-dense. Make sure you bring one that is less calorie dense so you know you have at least one "safe" one. Eat light the night before. I love a big spinach salad with rotisserie chicken breast (no skin)…

I'm considering leaving the scale. During the time that I was mad "I only lost 5 lbs" I discovered these things: - I lost 1.5 inches from my waist - I lost 2.5 inches from my hips - I lost .5 inches from each thigh AND - I lost a full 4% of my body fat!! With numbers like those, who cares what the scale says?!

For a full month I barely lost anything. Looked into TDEE numbers and saw I wasn't even eating the bare minimum to run my organs (BMR) after exercise. Switched to doing TDEE - 20%, which is A LOT of food. Lost .8lbs the first week. My 2nd week at TDEE-20% will end Friday but I'm already down another full lb. It is…

Unless they have asked for advice, I wouldn't mention it. Everyone chooses their own path. (Even if you think that path is the most unhealthy thing you've ever seen.) You can also Hide someone from your feed without unfriending them. There's a little drop down on the top of each feed item. That way you can add them back in…

I have nothing helpful to add. I just love your turn of phrase! I wouldn't mind looking saucy on the beach myself.

As long as your snacks fit into getting proper nutrition, it's totally not a problem. Watch your macros, get enough protein, drink enough water: you're golden.

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 Have you read this? It probably answers most of your questions. But in general, you shouldn't be eating below your BMR. With 40ish to lose you should eat TDEE (for your activity level) - 20%.

A tankini is definitely the way to go. Athleta has some really pretty ones this season with tons of different coverage levels for tops and bottoms. And they have free shipping both ways! Makes me wish I needed a new suit. :)

oh, sweetie, that must've been awful. but i have to say, that was just some psycho. there's no reason to think you didn't look cute. ((hugs.)) hs can be a mean place.

I loved a shirt I saw in Anthropologie...on a clearance rack. Found a size 16- score! Found the size 00 salesperson & I went to try it on. This particular store was very warm, too warm. The shirt was not at all stretchy and had a zipper on the side. I put it on even though it was awkward to get over my head. I looked at it…

I grew up in NYC, where people walk a lot and often have the means to eat healthier. Abnormal there. But now I live just outside of Manhattan, in Jersey City, NJ. Here, it's very common to see obesity. So, Normal here, even though it's just across the river.

From the asker side: A friend of mine I hadn't seen in a while lost a lot of weight. I knew she had been trying, off and on, for many years. When I saw her I was really happy for her and so proud of her work. I told her she looked amazing. But I though she might be sensitive about the number. I asked her: Are you at goal?…

My husband had both high blood pressure and diabetes. He is now free of both, without Rx medication or cleanses/pills/whatever. Diet and exercise alone.

I just had the same question! SideSteel and Sarauk2sf handled it nicely: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/896831-falling-below-bmr-after-exercise

Great help, as expected. Thank you.

Follow up: If I'm falling below BMR regularly and it doesn't average out over the week, would you suggest going up to the next activity level or see how it goes for a few weeks?

thank you!
