I stRted just now. 2 500mg tabs each evening is what my dr has written me. I thought it sounded nuts, so I called to confirm...yep 1000mg each night. I took it with a glass of milk. Can anyone explain how metformin works, and anything pertinent you think I need to know :)

I love carbs and have tried to switch to whole wheat and eat them less than I have been. I did loooow carb once before and had great success with weight loss but was miserable because I wanted pasta, potatoes, and bread allll the time.

I was super excited when they arrived in the mail. I rinsed them 3 times and they didn't smell so bad. I made them with pasta sauce like spaghetti but could not get around the strange texture, Waste of money IMHO, and now just do whole wheat pasta in smaller portions...for the most part.

So I would just divide my total cals in half...half at 12 and half at 6pm?

Try to do whole wheat bread, pasta, and rice, and do sweet potatoes instead of regular. I do this and also love love love carbs.

So I would put in my walk and delete what cals burned it says, replacing it with 1? I swear I'm not dense, I just want to do this right :)

Also, if I do workout...should I leave those calories...not eat them back?

I just checked and with lightly active it gives me tdee of 2243 and with 15% subtracted 1906 to eat. I think I'll increase to this when I get back in the flow of exercising.

So if I have I can up my activity level to get a better tdee and then subtract 15% from that, right?

I'm right there with ya. Trying to figure out what to set my cals at. I have 1661 bmr and 1958 tdee.

I just subtracted 15% from my 1958 tdee and got 1664, that's just above my bmr of 1631. Is that a safe number to set for cals?

I have. 2 year old...I sit and play blocks, watch nick jr, and clean up the house....I don't feel like that's active lol
