  • Thank you
  • I am WW dropout. I decided to stick with MFP. I was eating way too much 0 point food and would lose and gain the same 5 pounds for the last 3 months. At least when I see I'm out of calories to eat, I have to stop eating. With WW, I could eat more 0 points food and not see any change in my weight. I'm sure it works for some…
  • Thanks, this is really good information.
  • I got a lap band 6 years ago. I have lost about 50 pounds but need to lose 50 more. I'm thinking of getting a GB like you. I have been having problems with acid reflux and choking in my sleep. I'm also a WW drop out. I'm just trying to find what works for me.
  • I am a recent WW drop out. I was logging in separate. I don't think you can combine the 2.

  • I chose the band because my Dr was able to do the surgery in my home town and I wouldn't have to travel. I choose the easiest WLS for me. Not that I regret getting the Lap band, I want to lose more weight but without having acid reflux.
  • First of all, do not hate yourself. Your mind is clouded by the frustration of failed attempts. Believe me I have been in your shoes. I knew my thoughts were lying to me about what a loser I am. I know I am not a loser. Failing does not make anyone a loser. It just means try something else. In times of doubt, it's hard to…
  • I am a WW drop out. I liked the program, it works but I could not make it work for me. I would lose 5 and gain 5. I decided to stick with calorie counting instead of points. Last year I lost 20 using MFP but gained back 15. My short term goal is to reach 175. One day at a time, one pound at a time. I want to take this slow…
  • I am also a member of WW, I drop 5 and gained 5 and been on the program for 3 months. I am also keeping track on MFP. I dropped out of WW 2 weeks ago because I'm tired of going in circles. I know the program works, I just can't make it work for me.
  • Hi, I got a lap band about 6 years ago. I lost 50 pounds but I need to lose more. I asked my Dr about how long can I have the band in, she said it all depends. If it starts giving you problems the we can look at taking it out. I also have reflux problems and almost choked in my sleep. My Dr took out 2 cc's and I started…
  • Logging in my food is a solid habit for me. Staying within my calorie intake is hard for me right now. I know this slump will pass and I will get my mojo back again.
  • Crock pot meal! That's a great idea! My kids love crock pot meals and they can start the pot when they get home from school and dinner will be ready at dinner time.
  • I am 4 years post op lap band. My start weight was 240. Today I am in the upper 180's. I have plenty of acid reflux and hate it and sometimes my food get's stuck. Over all, I have no regrets about my WLS. You are welcome to add me.
  • I'm so glad your surgery went well. Stay with the broth, clear liquids is very important right now.
  • Lap band post op 4 years I had hair loss. It was sad for me because my hair is thin to start with and then got so thin you could see my scalp. Then I used cover ups and prayed I didn't sweat or got caught in the rain other wise I would have black streaks dripping down my forehead. It grew back almost a year later but very…
  • Me too, I have decided to not step on the scale until the holidays are over. Although I did slip this morning just out of curiosity and found I maintained for the past week. I was also getting stressed out over the numbers and made the decision to focus on myself more than the number on the scale. It works and I do feel…
  • Hi Dawn, I am 50 years old, post op lap band 4 years. I did hear that the band lasts about 10 years and I was wondering what happens after it's removed. Do people choose to not have another WLS or get another band. I guess I won't worry about it right now. I have been doing well with my band. Although I did spend a lot of…
  • I have been really lucky with my band since I had surgery 4 years ago. It's too bad some people have had problems with it. My dad had gastric bypass and was very successful . I believed it saved his life and gave us 10 more years with him. I totally support WLS if it means better health. Thanks clcmfp, I will check out…
  • I don't ever share with just any body about my WLS because of negative reactions. I know I can share my story or offer support with people who have had WLS. Like I said, I'm glad I found you.
  • I was on the bariatric pal a long time ago for support. The last time I reached out for support I said I was thinking about removing my lap band because my weight loss had stalled and I was feeling really bad about myself. A member replied that I should just give up and asked "do you really hate yourself that much, then…
  • ME TOO, I signed up for a turkey trot. But later I will indulge in pie and a nice size turkey dinner. Nice size for me is a scoop of everything. My plate is not as big as others attending dinner.
  • I am feeling a bit better today but I got on the scale and gained weight. I'm crushed. I hate that I did not exercise or was eating well enough. I hate being sick, it slows me down.
  • I see maybe cardio might not be a good idea. I can just see myself struggling for air while trying to breath through my stuffed up nose.
  • Oh you guys are the best and I mean that. Yes I agree, birthdays are meant to be celebrated and cake is meant to be eaten.
  • @mph323 I did later binge on spaghetti. I know I'm blaming food for my setback but no one held a gun to my head and forced me to eat the dang food. I did beat myself up a little but I'm ok now. I recovered and today is a new day to get back on track. Thank you everyone for the encouragement, it helps me a lot.
  • You can find things you like to do to keep you busy and don't focus on finding "the one". This is your journey and no one else. I think you what you feel is you think you are missing out on human contact that happens in a relationship. When people find a replacement such as food to fill the void, it can have the result you…
  • Right! I need a food scale. I measure my food but I also need to weigh it too. I kind of though I was maybe starving myself a little but it might not be the case. I can walk more than 10,000 steps. I will stay with my plan and I should see a difference soon. Wow, I could have be retaining 8 pounds of water?! That's nuts!…
