Stunning! Great job...and a fellow canuck to boot! :D

You don't look too heavy so you could get away with something cheaper if you want to run on it. If you're looking for something new, I wouldn't even consider anything under $500. I bought the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 over 2 years ago and it still runs great and has loads of options, but it's also $1500+.…

If you're a complete couch potato, it's definitely possible. But it would take a lot of time.

Just ignore that idiot. A 12 m/m pace is perfect pace for for beginner endurance runs. Your pace will naturally increase as your fitness improves. Just run the speed you're comfortable with. Keep in mind, to gain endurance benefits from your runs, you should be able to carry a conversation at that pace. If not, then you're…

Only way it's going to happen fast is with roids.

Awesome job! Congrats.

Not these days. For consistency between tests I'd trust DEXA over hydrostatic any day.
-
I'm most of those studies, you'd have to drink a minimum of 10+ cans of diet coke a day to get similar effects. In for moderation.

Again, what are you using to determine LBM? The best equipment out there has a margin of error of +/- 2% BF.
-
Male, maybe and would have to have never lifted before in his life. Not for a woman though. Maybe half of that; 5 lbs is probably 2.5 lbs muscle/2.5 lbs fat. Back to option 3 - whoever is doing BF testing, shouldn't.
-
Lift heavy in a cal deficit will help preserve LBM. 31 yo female gains 5 lbs muscle in 5 months - I'll have to wave the BS flag on that one. If you're eating at a surplus, fat gains are inevitable. And you're boyfriend lost 35% of his weight in LBM - he's either restricting his calories too much, not lifting heavy enough,…

If they're going to have a sin tax on processed sugar stuff, that tax should be used to subsidize the cost of fruits, vegetables, and other healthy options that are currently expensive. This in turn would benefit the farmers.

Just because you're in Canada, doesn't limit you to a Canadian certifying agency. There's also CPTN in Canada. NASM doesn't require you to have a previous degree, nor does ACE.

For an exact BF% they might be (but not that bad), but for trending, they work fine. BTW, I did a DEXA scan last December. It said I had 35% BF, my BIA scale said 37% so it wasn't that far off.
-
In my personal experience, I'm usually between 8-12% LBM loss, but I also do heavy strength training with some cardio. You're looking around 17-19%. It's a little higher, but not out of the ordinary.
-
Seems to work fine for me and I'm in Canada for crying out loud. Usually nothing US based works for us.

If you wear the strap all day, it still sends the signal whether the watch is on or not, so you'll use up the battery quicker. But those straps usually have a decent life expectancy so you might have to replace the battery after 6 months instead of 1 year type of deal.

Based on the limited pics in your profile, I'd peg you around 30-32% BF, not 41. Although I use a similar device to measure my BF, I use it more to see a trend than the actual number. Although I did compare my device to a DEXA back in DEcember, and the DEXA indicated 2% BF lower than my scale, so the scale wasn't far off.

Since you went there - it's not global warming, but climax change now. And for many people including myself, believe there is climate change, but don't believe it's man-made, more of cyclic event the earth goes through. Earth's been around longer than man, and will outlive man.

This. The ISO 100 is also an isolate whey, which means it's absorbed quickly compared to a blend. This is what you want post-workout. I also use Allmax Hexapro blend at bed time with some frozen berries or cherries. The Hexapro is slower absorption which is perfect for bedtime.

Sounds more like a problem with things you're eating than your colon needing cleansing.
