I think you should go for it. I am going to go for the 1/2 Shamrock in march 2013. Start Prepping! I am using the elliptical and treadmill. I plan to use the pool at my YMCA also.

The Shamrock is in March 2013. I am planning to do the half. I have not run more than a mile in at least 3 years. The last run I did was a 5k 3 years ago.

I put down at least 64oz per day. On days I am working outside or in the gym, that increases.

There are plenty in my area. My ex signed up there. I opted for the YMCA since I have a son. I checked it out and did not wow me. That is just me. I do avoid Golds and Ballys.

I try to choose the lower of the two, just in case. If they are close I go with MFP. Close to me means like 5%.

I am no pro but let me tell you what works for me. Protein heavy snacks!!! Cottage Cheese Cheese Sticks Beef Jerky (WATCH OUT FOR THE SODIUM) Chicken Breast (I have made grilled chicken nuggets) You can always change it up and do a different routine. Our body learns and learns quick. LOL Good Luck
