  • I had my out a few years ago, quite unexpectedly. The first month I really watch my fats intake. I notice the more fat I eat, the more constipation and then diarrhea I have as a result. If I eat a balanced diet, I don't have any problems.
  • I love men in speedos... wear away!
  • This is a troll post, right? No one actually gets advice from Cosmo, right? SAY IT AIN'T SO
  • Higher calorie foods - and healthy ones - will help. Nuts, avocados, healthy oils, some higher fat dairy like 2% yogurt vs 0% fat, etc. Peanut butter... I have the opposite effect. When its my period I'm ready for FOOD. Hope you can make it work.
  • 32 oz? That's a LOT of diet soda... maybe limit yourself to 1 can and that's it. Diet soda has no nutritional value at all -- its just chemicals. It doesn't hydrate you... study after study has shown that drinking diet soda tricks you into actually eating more so if you're not careful you could go for more calories during…
  • It only takes a day or two for your body to go into starvation mode. Think about it this way: 1200 calories is what your body needs to lay in a bed and sleep all day while you're in a coma. If you're up and walking around, you're burning more calories. If you exercise, your body has absolutely nothing to restore your…
  • What an awesome milestone! Good for you!
  • SO impressive! Good for you -- let us know how the A1C comes out... we're cheering you on! You've come this far I'm sure you can kick it out the door. What a huge success!
  • .... I don't know anyone who does this. People do this?
  • He might be depressed, or he might just be a slob. :/ I would run away, as hard and fast as you can. If you don't have friends you can stay with, then I think you could go to a women's shelter. His controlling behavior is worrying and time will more than likely make it worse. I can completely sympathize with the tough job…
  • This! I've been a part of weight watchers. Accountability is great, but if you aren't accountable here, it really won't be any different at the meetings except you say it to people's faces. I joined for 6 months and lost..... 8 pounds. It just didn't help because I wasn't motivated enough. Counting calories or counting…
  • Totally inspirational! Thanks for sharing. Your progress looks fantastic!
  • YOU'RE NOT CRAZY. I found out I had PCOS at 18 after years of asking doctors what was wrong and NO ONE listening to me. I was just a "late bloomer" who ate too much even though no one did any blood work or asked what I ate. Healthy food, bad food, it all ended up in weight gain. Emotional mess? Check. I've had major…
  • Higher demand --> higher output/production = lower prices...
  • Your point?
  • There's a reason we wean kids from breast milk.... same thing with cows. Milk isn't a natural food but because its part of our diet there are healthier alternatives. The fat content of any milk is meant to grow a baby, not continuously 'feed' an adult. Check the nutrition - almond milk has protein! And it's not that…
  • I can't stand cow milk, personally. It's not meant to be a human food and it has lactose (a form of sugar) and casein (very hard for your body to digest and NOT good for you) -- so I would recommend an alternative like almond milk. It's low in calories & very healthy for you. There's also other milks like rice, hemp, and…
  • So he can get a running start towards the doorway.
  • If you can afford it, eat organically! The amount of pesticides, etc that are put on food and grown into food is alarmingly high. Strawberries are grown with a ton of bad things, and the residue is in your food. Yuck. here are two articles on a dozen or so fruits/veggies you should eat organic if at all possible.…
  • Hopefully your work insurance will cover the OBGYN. If not, I actually use my family doctor for my metformin & PCOS treatment... but I chose her because she was actually educated about PCOS and knew how to help me. Saves me the extra doctor's trip. I'm not ready to get pregnant but once I am I'll seek out an actual OBGYN.
  • Whether 110 or my current 230, I've never felt ugly. I may be less attractive than I used to be due to the amount of fat on my body, but ugly? No. Never. I've always focused on the parts of me I've liked - pretty eyes, nice hair, good smile, nice feet, etc. There are parts I don't like, but that's me. It doesn't me someone…
  • For some inspiration -- a friend of mine with PCOS lost 70 lbs and has kept it off for almost 3 years now. She's no longer on any meds, including birth control, and her periods are monthly and manageable! It can happen!
  • YES. Oh the gobs and clots. When I used to have really bad periods I could just feel the gobs falling out of me... it was so weird and every period was just a prayer to NOT overflow on any piece of clothing that I was wearing. Those were the days when I would go almost a year and then bleed off and on for weeks at a time.…
  • I'm 28 and I would love a "mixed CD" from a significant other... I still think its sweet and a bit romantic! (And yet, I've never been given one... *sad face* LOL) DO IT if its the right message for the relationship... please don't do it just for Valentine's Day in a new relationship.
  • Metformin is more for insulin resistance than ovulation/period control. It all depends on whether you're insulin resistant and need it. Your doctor should be able to tell you that with a simple blood test. If you need to, talk to an endocrinologist who can help you.
  • The only positive thing about that show is that it helps people who want change to change. Otherwise.... it's entertainment at the expense of obese people. The challenges are ludicrous and the workouts insane -- nothing is real world about this.
  • One of my favorite ways to have chicken is to smother in spaghetti sauce & add extra veggies like extra mushrooms for flavor. We also have done a 4-hour marinate in ranch seasoning, then lightly coat in breadcrumbs and bake. Also, cover in tropical fruits like mango, starfruit, strawberry, peach, etc., for a fruit-flavored…
  • I think it's possible... rare, but possible. It helps that they've known each other for so long. I am much more trusting in love after being friends for so long than if they just met on the street and then fell in love after 5 days.
  • If you're happy, then we're happy for you :)
  • I got married and wanted a courthouse wedding then a nice intimate dinner with closest friends and family. My now ex-husband and his parents pressured me so hard to have a big wedding. They actually bribed me with "The more you spend on the wedding, the more we'll pay for the honeymoon." So I had the big wedding. I totally…
