  • I don't track saturated fat, but I'm hitting around 60g of total fat. At 1800 calories a day, that 30% which is right where i want to be. It's higher on workout days.
  • I love a tall soy latte. No need for any syrups. Delicious as is! I used to get a quad venti vanilla soy latte. I've come a long way, but I'm just not going to give it up entirely!
  • I haven't started this program yet. I read the book and I'm working through some other stuff, but I plan to get to it next. As for learning the lifts and figuring out equipment, the following link is a great tool. You can click on the body part you want to work and sort through all of the exercises available for that body…
  • I'm a morning person. There. I said it. I can't imagine working out after I put in a full day at work. I briefly did that before I figured out mornings were better for me and the gym was packed at those times too. It's not so bad in the morning.
  • I'm 5'3" too! SW: 230 CW: 211 GW: 140 subject to change, but it's a starting goal
  • I haven't tried it yet, but I recently purchased some whey protein. I went to my local health food store and just read through all of the nutrition panels. This one came out on top. It is Jay Robb Whey Protein: 110 Calories, 0g fat, 1g carbs, 25g protein. I forgot to look at the sweeteners, but having just grabbed the bag,…
  • I thought he was full of bunk and you have all confirmed it. Keep in mind, he didn't sell me anything. Yes, I bought the item, but he had absolutely nothing to do with it. I had my decision made before he came over. I sent an email to the store outlining the conversation and how much I didn't appreciate the unsolicited and…
  • Hello! I'm Christina. I'm 36 (may as well say 37 since my birthday's next month). I've been divorced twice and refuse to try for a 3rd marriage. I don't have children and I'm good with that. 2 kitties are good for me. I'm on this weight loss journey for the long haul. After struggling with being overweight nearly all of my…
  • It's well worth getting a kitchen scale. I swear by mine!
  • We subscribe to 3 cooking magazines; Eating Well, Clean Eating, and Bon Appetit. I don't get time to get bored with food. You might want to try finding a magazine you like.
  • Great job and congratulations!
  • I had the Mulligatawny Soup in the latest issue of Clean Eating. Spicy delicousness!
  • Blueberries! I have them with my steel cut oats and with my yogurt pretty much every day. LOVE THEM! Oh and this obsession has been going on for 3 years or so... I think I'm stuck with it!
  • Congratulations! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
  • I grew up in Somerset, OH and currently live in Columbus, OH.
  • I had arthroscopic knee surgery on my left knee in December. They cleaned up a medial meniscus tear and some excess cartilage. I'm cleared for the gym with the instructions that if it doesn't hurt, I can do it. I did a 5 mile hike last weekend in the beautiful Hocking Hills area of Ohio and it wasn't bad at all. I'm…
  • I eat a single serving of steel cut oats with 1/4 cup blueberries and a hard boiled egg. This may sound like a lot of work in the morning, but it's not. On Sunday, I make 7 servings worth of steel cut oats and divide them up into individual containers with frozen blueberries in the bottom of the dishes. As I'm preparing…
  • Feel free to add me! I'm looking for motivated friends too!
  • My go-to breakfast is 1/4 cup (dry) steel cut oatmeal with 1/4 cup blueberries and 2 hard boiled eggs. I make the steel cut oats on Sunday. While the oats are cooking, I put out 7 individual containers and put the 1/4 cup frozen blueberries in each container. When the oats are ready, I just divide up the oatmeal among the…
  • I am also beginning to deal with my sugar addiction. Today is my first day eliminating refined sugar from my diet. My only real suggestion to you would be to find alternative healthy snacks to keep on hand and try to remove the sugary snacks from easy reach. Good luck!
