  • I like cottage cheese with fruit (frozen works well, or fresh) and a sprinkling of nuts. Or a piece of toast with an egg and some avocado!
  • I'm not quite there yet, not quite at a place to maintain solely by going by how I feel and adding in the occasional treat. I realized that I still mostly stop eating because my (carefully portioned out) food is gone, and not because I think "Oh, I'm full, I don't need anymore." I'm working up to being able to maintain…
  • You can always rinse canned veggies.
  • I believe it is "non-scale victory" and "scale victory." So victories that are not related to pounds/kg/weight are NSV, and victories related to weight/lbs/kg are SV.
  • I like cottage cheese, frozen fruit, and chopped almonds or cashews. Or a piece of fruit, a couple cheese strings, and some almonds/cashews. Or a small tortilla spread with almond butter, with a banana rolled up inside.
  • There is a trainer at my gym who is a woman who is heavier. While I've never trained with her directly, I've observed a spin class she teaches a couple times (while I was running laps), and she substitute taught one of my bootcamp classes. I have no doubt that she is incredibly fit, knowledgeable, and could likely kick my…
  • I'll be moving into maintenance at the beginning of September, and my plan is to increase my calories slowly, and move to more of a "If It Fits Your Macros" food plan.
  • I'm not sure about sizes, because they vary so much by brand, but I am 5'7" tall, weigh 148 lbs, and I seem to wear a medium shirt and size 8 pants.
  • In my efforts to stay motivated, I have done the following things, and found that they've helped: - Keep a list every day of 5 general things that I'm grateful for. - Keep a list every day of 3 successes I've had (this has been challenging, but it includes things like "I've added radishes to my diet!" and "I can do 20…
  • They call it "Chiseled." The class description says "This muscle conditioning class will sculpt and shape your muscles. We’ll get you motivated to work your muscle groups, blast your body fat and sculpt lean muscle. Get ready to get chisel’d!" Which is really not a very helpful description!
  • You're so right, it isn't too late! Who cares if you had a poor breakfast. Have a great lunch! And maybe you can squeeze in a 5 or 10 minute walk. You can do it!
  • I workout barefoot when I do DVDs at home, whether I'm on carpet (in the basement) or on hardwood (upstairs). I wanted to build my endurance for being barefoot, because I also do a martial art where you must be barefoot. I think it's largely personal preference. Maybe just be extra cautious if you're doing big side-to-side…
  • I have had a similar experience as well!
  • I have rewarded myself mostly with pampering myself (hot baths, pedicures, etc.) and buying health magazines that I find motivating. I'm also buying new belt buckles from a favorite etsy shop. I saw a really neat idea online, and wish I had known about it back when I first started this journey. They suggested that you give…
  • At this time, I don't, because I'm participating in a "Last 10 Lbs. Boot Camp," and our instructor doesn't go in for such things! However, this is only a 8 week camp, and I'm just about done. Once I move into more conservative weight loss/maintenance mode, I will have more freedom to have a cheat meal here and there.
  • Just outside Edmonton, AB, myself. Feel free to add me!
  • I have been kicking myself for not jotting that number down once a week and seeing if it was accurate or not! I'm looking forward to hearing if anyone has found it at all accurate over the long-term.
  • That's a really neat idea! Thanks for sharing. :)
  • That sounds like a good enough reason to start to me! Start with small, manageable goals and see what happens. At some point in time, you may wish to take a closer look at your relationship dynamic, and see if he is really who will make you a solid, loving partner in the long haul. But that does not have to be related to…
  • I am incredibly fortunate in that I have a wonderfully supportive husband, and 2-3 good friends who really understand where I'm at and what I'm doing. I really, deeply appreciate being able to send out a text or make a call and say "hey, I'm struggling today," and receive the support I need.
  • I eat a big salad for lunch every day (I use mason jars, too, as someone else said - you can prep four salads all at once, and they keep very well in the fridge). I steam, grill, or sauté at least 2 veggies with dinner every night. Currently, I'm really into grilled eggplant and zucchini, or sautéed zucchini, mushrooms,…
  • I do a martial art, read lots, watch movies, knit, scrapbook/make cards, and I'm starting to do a bit of writing, too.
  • Feel free to add me! I've been on MFP for about a month now, and I'm feeling ready to expand into the community a little bit more. I've been working hard at keeping myself motivated, and I'd love to share that with others.
  • Hi! Feel free to add me. I'm at 35 days of logging in, and I plan to continue to use MFP for the foreseeable future!
  • I am currently really into making salads in mason jars. You can make 3-4 at once, and they last in the fridge for up to 4 days. - Get some 1L mason jars. - Put some light salad dressing in the bottom (I use 1tbsp soy sauce and 1tbsp white vinegar). - Fill with your favorite fixings - I use 1/2 c. of quinoa, 1/2c. of beans…
  • Hi. Feel free to add me - I've been using MFP for a couple months now, but have only just begun looking for friends.
  • Check out Chocolate Covered Katie - she has lots of healthy desserts.
  • I saw that Coke is now making mini cans of many of their products - could you find something like that, and enjoy a smaller serving size?
