  • I bruise very easily but I have had blood tests and nothing wrong. My doc said sometimes people just bruise. I do know if I bump myself hard I will have a large dark bruise. But they seem to only concentrate on my legs. Not attractive at all. I am in Chicago and the morning radio web's site will be posting a product soon…
  • I have definitely had those jaw dropping moments. That's why I try to plan ahead before going out so there are no surprises. Before, I would love to get milk shakes from Steak and Shake and recently I check to see how many a large has in it (something I got many times before). A large chocolate has almost 1000 calories. I…
  • Good article. Makes more sense than just telling someone to "cut calories." I like when things are explained to me and I understand the "why" of it.
  • Amen to that!!!
  • You are not eating enough. Example: You said that Thursday you ate 1520 calories and burned 814 which puts you at a net calorie of 706 and you are doing this consistently. Your body is probably going into starvation mode and is holding onto whatever is can. Try shooting for a NET calorie of no less than 1200 cals or…
  • My MIL lives in Texas, I am in Chicago, so there is a good buffer zone. Honestly though, I have no problem with her. She has never said anything to my face. They was only one time she said something negative to me and that was in reference to my skin ( I don't have great skin). It hurt because it was something I had to…
  • I was so happy that Ali won. Either girl I would have been happy with. Ali is so tiny now. You have to feel inspired by their hard work. Even though the average person working out at home wouldn't lose that much weight that quickly, and we all don't have Jillian or Bob screaming at us, but with time and patience, ANYONE…
  • That is so wrong that he said that. I think I would have cried if my hubby said that. My husband never was negative towards me but he did tell me that I didn't have to lose weight and he liked how I looked. I am sure he had his doubts because I had always started eating better in the past and failed. He is complaining that…
  • This sounds like a good challenge for those who obsess with the scale. I, on the other hand, use the scale as a tool for keeping myself in check. I don't obsess over it like I did when I first started. I am very organized with tracking my food and so I can pretty much can guess if I will lose or gain or stay the same. I do…
  • Ali had the highest percentage overall so she would have won even if Mark was in the top 3.
  • In this final Biggest Loser weigh in......................... Well, bad news is I didn't lose any weight... Good news is I didn't gain any either!!! We had a good weekend though and I pigged out a little but I did kick my butt in the gym so it even out. 1/09/08 = 215.5 1/16/08 = 213 1/23/08 = 211 1/30/08 = 207 2/06/08 =…
  • Started Jan 6 Down 27.5 pounds!!!
  • I have been here since January and have lost 27.5 so far. Counting calories has become a little obsessive for me. I make sure I count everything. For me, it was the only way. When starting, I worked out 3 days a week. Lately, I have been going twice because the weather is warmer and I am trying to get things done around…

  • I would also suggest NOT cutting calories. You are working out alot and you need to fuel your body. If you are gaining muscle, that is a good thing. The scale may not move but eventually your clothes with fit better. Don't obsess over that number the scale is showing you. Give yourself time and make sure you are eating all…
  • It will happen, just give yourself the time. I was stuck in the 190's for 6 weeks before I finally broke that hump. Just remember, if you gave up now, you will NEVER reach it.
  • In recent weeks I have only been going to the gym 2 times a week but we had some good weather around here so I made up for it by going for walks and cleaning the garage.
  • I have actually found the opposite. My skin has clear up considerable since I started losing weight except right before that time fo the month, I might get one or two break outs. And I have always had bad skin, from the time I was pre-teen. Once I started using Neutrogena products a few years back, I have noticed a big…
  • When starting MFP back in January, I was at 215.5 lb. Today, though I am still in the weight loss process, have lost 27.5 lbs. I did have a few weeks where I lost and gain and lost and gain and I did lose my motivation for a while. Though I still recording all my food, I was going over but at least 300-500 calories a day.…
  • It's amazing what is in some of this food. That's why I always try to go online before going out and trying to plan my menu. Other times you just have to use common sense. I say, once in a GREAT while is not going to kill you or demolish your weight loss, but eating this crap all the time will definitely add up. This jerk…
  • I went on the web site and found their percentages of weight loss as of last night: Ali - 42% Mark - 41% Kelly - 34% Roger - 40% I did a little math and found what each contestants "ideal" weight is based on a calculator I found online. IDEAL WEIGHT - If each contestant met their "ideal"weight, this is what the numbers…
  • MAJOR JEALOUSY!!! I know you are from the Chicago area too and I would love to get away from this weather. It's getting better but still too chilly for me!
  • It happens. I had lost 23 pounds and then my body was screaming for food. I was thinking maybe I lost the weight too fast and now my body was trying to compensate for it. I went 3 weeks with gaining and losing and gaining and losing. Now my hungry has subsided again and I feel normal again. The last two weeks I have lost…

  • That 4-6 poinds could be water weight. I know when I am on vacation, I am not paying attention and not drinking enough water. Don't beat yourself up.
  • 31 lbs is great!!! If I lose 2.5 by next week, I will have lost 30 lbs. I am hoping I make that milestone because this last 10 pounds has been hard for me but my motivation is back and the last two weeks I have lost.
  • I guess no one is posting this anymore. Since next week is the last week of Biggest Loser, I will be the one to start it. Need to finish strong. Lost 2.5 more pounds this week. YEAH!!! I am back on track. AND I am in the 180's, OMG.. the last time that happened was probably in my late teens, I am 28 now. 1/09/08 = 215.5…
  • Sometimes i feel that way but then I think to myself " I will never be thinner if I quit now." I then imagine myself looking good (or at least better) in a bathing suit and it helps keep me focused. I was doing get since the beginning of the year, lost 22 pounds and then about a month ago, hit a motivation wall. It was…
  • I completely agree. I try to plan the day in the morning and input all my calories for the day ahead of time. If I see I could be over, I will deduct items or change quantites to get me in a good place. I love pizza too and couldn't live without it. My favorite is Home Run Inn (Chicago). Their pizza is far less greasy and…
  • What happened to all the people checking in?!? This is how we are supposed to keep each other motivated. There are only a couple more weeks of Biggest Loser, don't give up now!!!
  • I haven't seen the check in so I am starting it. After some yoyoing the past 4 weeks, I have lost 3 pounds this week. I feel my motivation is back and I am ready to conquer again. 1/09/08 = 215.5 1/16/08 = 213 1/23/08 = 211 1/30/08 = 207 2/06/08 = 205 2/13/08 = 203 2/20/08 = 201.5 2/27/08 = 198.5 3/05/08 = 193.5 3/12/08 =…
  • The same thing happened to me. When I had my first dressing fitting, my dress, a size 16, just fit. I had to suck in everything I had. Came time to the wedding, the dress was a little too big but it was too late for alterations.
