  • I agree. Try on a smaller size and see if it fits. If it does GREAT! You are also a small person and very close to your ideal weight. The pounds might not drop as fast as someone who has much more weight to lose.
  • My son is 6 weeks old now. I cheated and started working out after 3 weeks (I already have a son and felt fine). I stuck to the elliptical and went slow. After my first son I gained alot of weight back and didn't want it to happen this time. I currently am 14 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight but hope to lose 44 lbs in…
  • I love this post because I do the same thing... watch people. I try not to because I don't want to be the weird person who stares at everyone but you do come across some strange people. This one guy at my gym... he's about 40 and wears these tight spandex bike shorts (he's not biking) and armless/pitless shirts. It's just…
  • That's a big wake up call. That's my biggest issue is sugar. Ugh! Thanks for the post.
  • I am kind of re-introducing myself here again. A year ago I join and was fully committed and lost 30 pounds between Jan-May 2008. Then the summer came and I wasn't as committed to writing everything down that I was eating because of more activites and just stuff to do. I did try to stick to eating better but when there are…
  • There should be something done about food prices. It is so true that everything healthy for you is so expensive while you can feed a family for $10 at McD's. I am not rich at all but I do try but sometimes it's just not doable. It's crazy and now with all the crazy weather in the mid-west, prices are going ever higher!!!
  • I agree it would help but can you imagine the outrage. I am not saying everyone should be a size 5, I am no where near that and will never be, I am just saying that people need to take action for themselves. It's easier to eat crap and go through drive thru than it is to plan a healthier meal. It's doesn't matter how much…
  • I think it's wrong to make it illegal, however, more has to be done to get people into healthy weight ranges, especially in the states. Does anybody watch Moment of Truth? One of the questions on the new season was told by a woman from the National Association for the Exceptance of Fat People (or something like that.) I…
  • I really hope you weren't dissing Bon Jovi. They are still awesome after all these years and their concerts still rock. Daughtry was excellent at the concert but I missed the first couple congs due to traffic. Chris then came out and sang Blaze of Glory with the boys. It was awesome!!!!!!
  • I am 31 pounds and counting!
  • I am not doing any diet plan. I use this web site to track my calories and exercise. For me, I stick with 1200 cals a day. Someday's I have more but usually only once a week. I exercise and I eat the calories to make up for what I burned. I think of it as a lifestyle change and not a diet. I gradually changed my eating…

  • No secret. Count your calories and stick with them. Exercise and eat your exercise calories. Have a treat once in a while to prevent yourself from going crazy. Think of it as a lifestyle change, not a diet!!!
  • I would also like to join this challenge since the Biggest Loser challenge is no longer going on and since I weigh in every Wednesday. It helps keep me honest and I look forward to it. I will put in my weight from the start of this challenge. GW for July 1st - 170 lbs. 4/09/08 = 188.0 4/16/08 = 188.0 4/23/08 = 187.5…
  • When I started, I said I would post every 10 pounds and here I am again. With a total loss of 30 lbs and it feels good. I have been on here for 16 weeks now and have 25-35 pounds to go. My goal is somewhere between 150 and 160. It has taken time to get here and I have had some good weeks and bad ones. Sometimes I gained a…

  • For the first couple months of my "lifestyle change", I was very much against cheat days. Lately though, I have been allowing myself some things I crave. It seems more on Saturday's I have off I tend to splurge a little but I am usually running around too so I burn most of it off.
  • Great job!!! 7 lbs in 9 weeks is good. The slower it comes off, the more likely you will KEEP IT OFF!!! I wish I would of had taken measurements at the beginning. I have gone from a tight size 14 to a very comfortable size 12. Don't be a slave to the scale, your measurements prove this is working.
  • I think most people think that they need to be much thinner than they should be. It all depends on your body makeup. According to my BMI, I should be somewhere between 129 and 168. If I was 129, I would look sickly. I am shooting for somewhere between 150 and 160.

  • Of course you can still go swimming. Just use a tampon. I hate them but it won't stop me from doing what I enjoy. If that's what you want to do, DO IT!!! Take it slow if you have cramps but the water is so relaxing. Go for it girl!!!
  • You shouldn't count it anyways. When you input your activity level (sedetary, moderate etc) it already calculators this type of activity.
  • Most likely water weight. Don't weigh yourself everyday. It will fluctuate too much that you will soon get discourage. I weigh myself once a week on Wednesday mornings after I use the toilet and before I eat. It helps me stay in check without obsessing over the scale.
  • I use to take them but if I took them alone without food, I would get horribly nausea. It took me a few days to realize what was doing it. I just take regular Woman's One a day. I don't think pills for appetite surpression work. It's all mental.
  • Are you at risk for disordered eating? Your score: 6 0 to 9 points: You are at a low risk for being a disordered eater, valuing healthy eating and exercise because they make you feel good. But you keep everything in balance; maintaining a healthy lifestyle doesn't keep you from pursuing other goals. You probably draw…
  • I understand what you are saying. I think the same thing but in our eyes, they look good, but in theirs it's a different story. I have people tell me that I look really good even though I still have 38 pounds to go. It's all in the eye of the beholder. I guess for me, anyone who is slimmer, looks good regardless if they…
  • You said that without thinking you pulled into McDonald's. Were you unconscience when you were driving? I am not being a smart *kitten* but instead of going to McDonald's, find a healthier alternative. OR find a healthier alternative at McD's. Instead of cheeseburgers, get the grilled chicken sandwich without mayo. It's…
  • Calories don't roll over day to day. If I were you, hit the gym or exercise that day you are planning on drinking. I would not though cut out healthy calories from food and substitute for alcohol.

  • That great and it's a great feeling!!! I did the same thing recently and couldn't believe how much I have lost. My face looks bigger now because I lost so much fat in my cheeks and brows. I have gone from squeezing into a size 14 and some of my pants were size 16 to comfortable fitting into size 12's. I have already had to…

  • MFP is great and the best part... it's FREE!!! I have suggested it to a couple people. Not sure if they use it like I do.

  • Woohoo!!! Great job! I am 12 lbs removed from 200 and it feels great. It was so weird checking in that first time and putting a "1" in front of my weight. I had to double check it to make sure I was right.
