  • I hate it when my friends imply that I'm making them feel guilty by eating less and/or healthier than I used too. I'm not doing it to make them feel guilty, I just want to feel better about myself!
  • OMG that's great! Congratulations!
  • It's not always easy (sadly!) but as you see the number on the scale slowly go down with your tracking and hard work it's SO worth it. Good luck on your journey!

  • I was having this issue. Then instead of a cheat meal I've started allowing myself a cheat "item" so to speak. If I get up and go to the gym before work, then I can have that beer or that snack later in the day. What finally started clicking for me was seeing how many calories of what I exercised that one snack would take.…
  • I have found this website to be a HUGE help! It keeps me on track and much more aware of what I'm eating. Congratulations on starting your journey :-) Sadly it's not easy or quick, but it's worth it in the end!

  • We all have those days. We are all trying to be healthier, but we also don't live under a rock and avoid our friends, social situations, or celebrations. We are only human after all. I do the same thing from time to time :-) Today is a new day, just get back on the horse and do what you've normally been doing today. It'll…
  • You may want to see the doctor about the hypoglycemia. If that's part of the problem seeing the doc will help! Anecdotally, I know when I started on MFP I was hungry ALL the time. That's gone away now. Maybe my body just got used to it? How long have you been counting calories?
  • You've started: that means you're winning!
  • Feel free to add me if you'd like. This site has helped me immensely: both with personal accountability and having people cheer for me and root me on. I think it's a great tool!
  • 5848 + 11 = 5859
  • JD3 just arrived for me! I can't wait to try it tomorrow morning!
  • If I know there's a night where I'm "going out" and may have a beer or two, I make sure to work out extra hard earlier in the day to earn the extra calories for it. I also drink less now that I'm dieting and MFP has helped me realize just how many calories are in my favorite drinks (aaaaaah!!!!!!!!) but I have one or two…
  • For exercise, I'd recommend a rest day a week or so. Otherwise you're just beyond exhausted! At least I am. For the calories, I'd try and stay on as close as possible. I know there are times I can't (it works out to about once every two weeks) - whether it be a holiday, or my kryptonite of hibachi - but it happens and you…
  • I don't know if you can do this at UK pubs, but before I go I look up restaurant menus and then put them into MFP to see what the general calorie count is. I usually base it off of that. My best advice would be to avoid the chips! BTW: I've been to the UK a few times, and I LOVE the local pubs. Wish we had more of those…
  • I'm in the same boat (bridesmaid....next July). You can do this! :-) Us bridesmaids gotta help each other out! lol
  • I'm 5'1", my goal is 130 (what I was in high school, and weight didn't bother me). Once I reach that I may reevaluate.
  • I've been loving my Banana Peanut Butter Smoothies for breakfast: 1 Banana 1 Tbs Peanut Butter 1 cup milk (I use almond milk) 4-6 ice cubes. Blend away. Drink!
  • I need to make just a little more money so I can adopt a kitty of my own... But I will be thinking of all these gifs while in my 3 hour meeting first thing in the morning. Thank you!
  • I made a sun dried tomato, pesto, goat cheese quiche with it. Granted that was before I joined MFP so I'm not sure what the calories on that was...but it was really delicious!
  • I'm completely honest, even when I go over, I'm honest about it and I record it. Otherwise I'm just cheating myself! MFP certainly guilts me though!
  • Being the lowest weight you've been in a while, even if "only" by 1 pound is a fantastic feeling! Great job!!!!! Keep it up - you're going to get there and you're doing it the right way!
  • I keep the website as one of the tabs on my work computer (that's when I tend to forget). That way as I'm going through and getting things done I'll see the tab and it reminds me that I need to log things. I hope this helps!
  • I've been on for about 2 months. I've "only" lost 8 pounds, but I've never done that before. MyFitnessPal has helped me be more aware of the foods I put into my body, as well as giving me motivation for exercising. People at work say they're beginning to notice. I think it's helping a lot!
  • If I'm going out I run the items that look good through MFP to look at the calorie count before hand, so when I arrive I pick that (it helps in another way - friends get annoyed because I take SO long to decide! Lol). If it's still fairly high, I'll have a light breakfast or lunch. And I'm a firm believer that you're…
  • You can do this!!! :-)
  • I would love to have 5-6 meals a day. Unfortunately I work with the public and we have a very strict "no eating in front of people" rule at work so I'm stuck with the 3 meals. I do snack a lot - probably more than I should!
  • I was going to recommend a morning work out too. Do you have a gym close to where you work? I have the same issue as you do - a long commute and it involves public transportation. I found a gym close to my train station so I go from there to the train. I'm frequently exhausted in the evening, but I found the morning work…
  • Mine yo-yoed and went up .8 pounds at week three. That's rough but I just gotta remember to plow through it. I'm sure the body is trying to figure out what's happen with the changes. If you keep working out and tracking calories and eating healthy it'll work out - sadly just not as quickly as any of us would like! Keep it…
  • I've been brown-bagging it much more since I've started MFP. It has the double benefit of healthier lunches and saving money. It sure as heck can be hard though - I feel ya! I mimic what many people are saying here - bring a brown bad lunch and maybe treat yourself to something higher calorie that you like once a week.
