I am 53, I started at 270 down to 245...I have type 2 diabetes and am losing to stay off insulin. I try to get on and encourage every day (not perfect though). I follow a low carb lifestyle but know it's important to do whatever your body is most comfortable with. Add me if you would like :)

I don't think it will ever fully go away since it is from damage to the nerves. I still get the tingles if my sugars go too high for any length of time, but I have found quercetin seems to help ease my symptoms. It takes time, don't get discouraged.

I weigh every morning, then average the daily totals at the end of the week. It helps keep me on track but lessens the panic if you have a significant jump one day.

I check mine as soon as I get back from the bathroom, so withing 15 minutes. My am readings are always shocking, 2-3 points (36-54 US) higher than when I go to bed.

Coffee should be okay, just stevia or splenda to sweeten and real cream (not milk) to lighten it. I don't follow a particular plan, just trying to keep my net carbs between 25-50 to see if I can get my diabetes under control.

I just made my first MIM it tastes just like the brown bread we had when I was a little girl, Yummy! My question is: the only thing I could find at my local store was LSA meal, is this an acceptable substitute? Will it skew my nutrition readings?

As long as you eat healthy, watch your sodium intake and get enough water and exercise you shouldn't have to worry about excess weight gain. Use cocoa butter/bio oil on your tummy and breasts as they expand to help lessen stretch marks...don't let this be a factor in your decision about children.

You should be able to go to the apps store for your phone: RIM, Android or Apple type in My fitness pal and download it there. That's how I got mine.

I agree, do your own grocery shopping. Claim a shelf in the fridge and one in the pantry and be independent. People who intentionally sabotage others are seeking power over them. You do have to learn to resist temptation, but a taste can be as satisfying as a whole serving if you really savor it.
