  • My reasons were largely ethical but the health benefits are also so key to what keeps me going. I just feel so much better on a vegan diet. I'll be happy to add you! Feel free to message me with any questions you might have. :)
  • I'm newly recommitted to a vegan lifestyle and would love more supportive friends on here. :)
  • Thank you! Will add you shortly! I figure, while everything else is new might as well adopt a healthier lifestyle too. :)
  • Oh man. As much as I want to say light side both for the sake of public appearance and because my inner child still completely idolizes Luke Skywalker...the honest part of me has to admit that, were I capable of using the Force, I'd totally be dark side.
  • Intermittent vegan here. Definitely look into middle eastern cuisines. Lots of spice and lots of options for vegetarian food. Things like hummus, grape leaves, tabouleh, etc. I could go on and on. Also try jackfruit as a meat substitute if you haven't already. It's great used for a "pulled pork" or in tacos.
  • Star Wars is my life! (Super nerd here too obviously.) We're going to be good friends.
  • Anyone who comes out of the gate with a Hobbit reference is cool in my book. :)
  • I wouldn't log things like doing the dishes. But for example yesterday my husband and myself unloaded, moved and stacked a full ton of wood pellets by the side of our house, as I don't normally do that and was lifting, carrying, etc. 40lb bags of pellets I logged that. Or sometimes in the spring/summer I like to mow the…
  • I've pretty much completely cut out soda of all kinds, except for maybe a small glass of ginger ale once/twice a week. I will allow myself a coke if I'm at a party or something and don't want liquor but that's very rare. I love coke and actually easily become addicted to the caffeine so I try to stay away from caffeinated…
  • I hate beer so that's no issue. I don't drink very much to be honest. Maybe two or three times a week before I started counting calories and even then only one sometimes two drinks max. Now I will have one drink (usually wine) once a week and call it good, I just work it into my calorie count for that day. I like alcohol…

  • Hi! I'm new too. I'm the same height as you (5'1), my starting weight is as 230 (much as I hate to admit it) and I'm looking to get down to 130 so a loss of 100lbs overall. Feel free to add me I could use some friends on here!
  • I have two girls: 5 years old and 5 months old. They keep me busy but it's so worth it.
  • I only use butter. I'm not sure how accurate that FB post is but I think butter is better for you if you have to have something like that (in moderation of course).
  • Summer can be a bit of a draw for me. Yes, I go out to festivals and parties, etc. a lot more which includes some horrible food options. But I also have access to wonderful farmer's markets which provide me with lots of yummy, fresh produce to take some of the focus off the not-so-good foods. And I'm moving a lot more in…
  • Thanks for those who made suggestions. I'll check out the Scott Cole and Dr Yang Jwing Ming suggestions. There are some gyms around here that have childcare in them but they don't take infants, my youngest is 5 months old so that makes it hard when she's older it'll be easier.

  • 1. Travel to Egypt. 2. Travel to various places in Europe. 3. Learn to horseback ride. 4. Get my masters degree.
  • Usually I just grab a yogurt, fruit of some sort like a banana, apple or orange, a cheesestick or a hard-boiled egg, or some combination of the above.
  • Candles don't really bother me but walking past the chocolate store in the mall is torture. :D I do have to say I know what you mean with the cooking shows though. I try not to watch many of them anymore. The one that I do watch if I can catch it airing on PBS is P. Allen Smith's show. He does a lot with fresh veggies and…
  • Ha! Just read this and it made me laugh. I can so relate. I'm only 5'1 and look ridiculously round all too often it seems when I see myself in the mirror.
  • For the majority of my life I've been heavy. I started gaining weight when I was 12 and haven't been thin since that point. Before that I was a stick of a child but then I overate from depression and it all went to hell. My whole family on my mom's side is overweight for the most part and I'm tired of hearing that "it's…
