I can see a huge difference! Especially around your torso and face. Well done - you are well on the way

Would it make it easier to accept or less damaging to self-esteem if the other women had been slim and beautiful? Cheating is cheating regardless of who it is with or what they look like. Saying that you know you are more attractive or "would have ranked higher" and then in a subsequent post "what makes men go for women…

Great thread - so useful to see and hear what other tall ladies are aiming for. So many success stories are so encouraging. I'm 5'11", SW around 310, CW 285, GW 165. I got down to 257 last year and messed up over winter. So mad at myself.

I really think it depends on how you carried the weight on your face before hand - some people when carrying weight in their face have a plump round youthful look and when they loose weight they loose that babyface and look a bit older as the skin loses plumpness. Some people when heavier have a more unhealthy saggy look…

Mayonnaise!!! I knew it was bad but had no idea just how bad it was until I started MPF. All those potato salads, egg mayo, tuna mayo sandwiches, burgers, dips, etc I use to make were loaded with it. Alcohol is another - a bottle of wine of a Friday or Saturday night (sometimes both) and if I had wine then I had to have…

Do you think the problem is more to do with how he lost weight rather than the actual weight loss itself? I am far from very knowledgable on this so please excuse any ignorance on my part but I would assume that someone having a gastric band may not always have the same outlook in the first place or along the journey vs…

I started last year with 140lbs to lose and was doing great - lost 50ish in around 5 months being strict 6 days and having a "diet day off" once a week. Then in the second half of the year I slowly started drifting back to old habits - I got cocky and like you I thought I had it under control, "I'll start again on Monday"…
-
Please feel free to add me! I have 130ish to lose. Mom with 1 child in mid 40s (ouch). Started last year, lost 50lbs and was feeling great, then I slipped up and over winter put almost all of it back on because I fooled myself in to thinking I had it under control. Lesson learned!! Back and ready to do it properly now.

You are completely right...this is obviously why I feel I have been failing. Thanks :)

Yes usually a hotel and generally my choice and this is going to sound really stupid of me but I never think of packing for the gym or pool! How ridiculous. I make excuses about meetings and being tired but really that's just that, excuses. Next time I am going to make time for a swim :) thanks.

Hi there - your post is exactly the kind of thing that I get scared about - slipping slowly back. I'm glad you are back and appreciate the advice. We will do this :)
-
Such great support from you all and I really appreciate you taking the time to respond and your positivity. I feel good now that I am still here and getting back on track! No more focusing on yesterday and just deal with today :) Thanks a million everyone x love this place!

Thanks so much for all of your advice! Getting back on the wagon is definitely key. One thing I know for sure is that I am not going back :)
-
Great advice, thank you. Actually remembering to bring snacks for trips is something I keep failing on! Must get that right.
-
That's a great way of looking at it, thanks :)
-
That's so true - I made huge changes to my life when I was pregnant so this is no different - I need to remind myself of that. Thanks for the support x

Actually the 5:2 might be a great idea for busy times - have heard lots of good feedback from people. Thanks very much.
-
Thanks and yes you are so right - I am the worst person for making excuses! Thanks for the support :) Onwards and downwards!

Congratulations! Those jars look like a great idea.

Thanks to everyone for your replies!! I guess it is good that I didn't put any on and I want to continue - I didn't think of it like that, I just focused on the wasted time. I need to accept that these things are going to happen and the important thing is getting back on track. I also need to be more organised and less…

Thanks so much for taking time to reply and your advice re guests is great - I need to step back a bit a let them get on with it instead of being such a control freak about doing everything for everyone!! Thanks.

Steph you are so inspirational to me - I had 140lbs to loose too when I came across your first post. I completely agree with this post too - it makes complete sense to me. I have a cheat once a week, except mine is a day rather than meal. It is the only thing that has kept me going and makes such a lifestyle change so much…

I started in January and think I lost around 4/5lbs in the first week but I thought it would be more considering I had 140lbs to lose. I started out around 308/310 and by this weekend I hope to be down 42lbs so it's nice and steady. My only exercise is pilates and walking and my aim is to be cycling by summer.

My husband said he could definitely see a loss around the 15-20lbs mark. No one else seemed to notice and then it occured to me that maybe because I am still wearing the same (now quite loose) clothes they probably hide the loss. I went out to dinner last weekend wearing a new better fitting top and someone that hadn't…

You can do this and there are so many on here that will help and support you, MFP is really helping me stay focused. I have over 100lbs to lose too and started in January - the way I am looking at it is that I can spend one year slowly getting myself back to being healthy and fit and enjoy the years ahead or I can stay as…

When I started walking in January I remember feeling like I was about to collapse after 7 mins on the treadmill at a slow pace and now I can do an hour at 5.5kms (probably still quite slow to some people but for me I feel a it's a huge difference). I know that walking will eventually enable me to do more and more as I…

Some people (of which I am one) definitely don't enjoy exercise but that doesn't mean they don't appreciate the effect or benefit it will have on their overall sense of well-being. Perhaps I am being a bit simplistic here but surely if lack of exercise results in weight gain then increasing exercise is very likely to…

Definitely used to see alcohol as a treat - especially Friday evenings as a reward for the weeks' work. And my problem wasn't just the drink calories but the associated snacks are a killer for me! I love crisps or nuts or anything savoury when drinking and now that I think about it I was probably consuming ridiculous…

HI there - I'm 43 soon and joined in January with 145lbs to lose. Feeling really positive and determined that this year will change the rest of my life and help me enjoy the next 43!

You look amazing!! Well done you for taking control.
