  • Love chocolate and caramel! It's my all time favorite. I haven't seen caramel M&M's yet but I will have to try them when I do.
  • String cheese, Baby bel cheese, low fat cottage cheese with fruit, Dole fruit cups in 100% juice, Bagel think with low fat cream cheese, sliced apples with Laughing Cow cheese wedge.
  • I'm 5' 9" and my goal is 150-175 lbs.
  • I don't think there is a "rule" that says that meals should be 375 each. As long as your daily total is what is should be you can divide your calories as you wish. I try to keep breakfast around 300-350 calories but sometimes I'm under 300. I tend to keep more calories for my evening meals as my husband cooks and I have no…
  • I have tried all the artificial sweeteners and do not like the aftertaste of any of them. I prefer to include the calories in my daily allotment and use natural sweeteners, mostly honey or maple syrup.
  • I log ahead if I know what I'll be having, usually breakfast and lunch during the week. Evenings and weekends I try to log as soon as I eat.
  • I will have to try the water trick. I have left the pit in half but it still discolors. I realize that it doesn't affect the taste but sight is just as important to me as taste and texture--you eat with your eyes! I love avocado toast but the discoloration of the avocado had kind of turned me off.
  • I don't believe in "cheat" days or meals. I try to stay within the calorie amounts I am aiming for, often I am under. If my husband and I decide to go out for dinner or there is a family celebration I will work around what is offered. We tend to go to the same few restaurants so I know what will fit into my calorie goals.…
  • I generally have oatmeal in some form during the week. I make overnight oatmeal or muesli that I can take with me to work. I will have eggs on the weekend, although I have made breakfast sandwiches that I can have during the week. I like both and switch off.
  • I have found it in the grocery stores around here (Safeway, Albertson's, King Soopers) but have not tried it yet. It is also sold in the local health food store here. I haven't tried it because I don't eat a lot of peanut butter and it's rather expensive if I don't like it.
  • I have made egg mcmuffins and did just fry the egg and tried to fit it on the English muffin. I did buy egg rings but found unless your pan is absolutely flat they don't work that well. I think the egg rings were less than $3 for two and I found them at Bed Bath and Beyond. I read somewhere that McDonald's started out…
  • Thank you all. I'm beginning to think it may be a combination of poor eating, lack of sleep and stress. I'm struggling to get back on track!
  • The key is finding something you can stick with. Walking will help but it will go "faster" if you are also eating at a deficit. Find a plan and keep going, it is slow but slow is better than fast as you will be able to maintain your loss for a low time if it is slow.
  • I have a 52 oz Bubba cup I got at Walmart. Every morning I fill it with ice, then water. I have several containers with water that I keep in my office so I can refill my cup as it empties. The cup keeps the ice really well, I will still have ice at the end of the day when I go home. I find that I refill the cup with water…
  • There are breads out there that are lower in carbs and calories. Thomas makes a protein English muffin as well as one that is only 100 calories. Both are good, the high protein is a little higher in calories. Try spreading with some avocado, nut butter, apple butter, or other light fruit spread. A smear of light cream…
  • I have even tried mashing it up with lemon juice, salt, and pepper but that doesn't last long either. I really don't want to eat half an avocado at a sitting!

  • At various times I have added brown sugar, apples, dried fruit, strawberries or other berries, pumpkin, nuts, all with or without plain Greek yogurt. Currently I am adding homemade rhubarb sauce with a bit of honey. If I am making it at home I will make it with milk instead of water for a creamier texture. I prefer steel…
  • Since there is no picture on your post I am going to assume you are a woman. All these suggestions are good and will work over time. Unfortunately, as a woman you will tend to carry your weight in your belly, butt, and thighs. They will become smaller but once again, it takes time.
  • The birth of my first granddaughter. After my divorce my daughter and I had been making some changes, not buying processed foods, not eating at fast food restaurants, making more meals from scratch, and I had lost some weight by doing those things. I had pretty much eliminated sodas instead drinking unsweetened ice tea and…
  • The way I look at it is this site is a means to learn healthy eating, making a life long change. That said who is going to completely eliminate sweets and other "treats" for the rest of your life. I agree with what others have said, make space in your daily calorie allowance and include whatever you like in your diet. By…
  • Personal opinion but I do not drink diet soda. I have pretty much eliminated soda from my diet and did that long before I started using MFP. I don't want the added sugar that soda contains, I prefer not to drink artificial sweetener, or eat them for that matter. I drink unsweetened ice tea and make "flavored" water by…
  • I have been looking for some different breakfast ideas but it seems everyone is eating pretty much the same thing I have been. I'm getting burned out with oatmeal and yogurt.
  • Sorry, but for most people eating nothing but fruits and vegetables with a little lean meat thrown in is not sustainable over the long haul. I believe most people on MFP are not here for a "diet", meaning to lose weight then go back to their way of eating and regain the weight plus more, but to find a way of eating that…
  • There is no substitute for cheese! I have tried some of the reduced fat cheeses and some are not bad. There are also lower calorie options like mozzarella and provolone that taste good. I like to have the laughing cow wedges (35 calories each) to spread on a wasa cracker or celery as well as baby bel rounds (50-70 calories…
  • I have found I have clothes in my closet in three different sizes, just a little loose, kind of big, and just about falling off big. I have culled out all the just about falling off ones and am sending them to good will. I am holding off of the kind of big until I can afford to buy a few more clothes that fit better. I'm…
  • I try to have a breakfast of about 300-350 calories but have a variety of things I will eat. On the weekends I will make either a fried or scrambled egg with a slice of low cal toast or light English muffin. Usually during the week I will have some form of oatmeal, I prefer steel cut, with low fat Greek yogurt and a little…
