Is using full fat dairy a detriment to weight loss?
I have been seeing many articles regarding full fat versus low/no fat dairy. There is a significant calorie difference but the claims are that there are increased vitamin and minerals available as well as the full fat leading to a 'fuller' feeling. I have been using 0% fat Greek yogurt, low fat cottage cheese, and 1% milk…

Avocados
I love avocado, especially on toast in the morning. The problem is I am the only one in my household that will eat it. Does anyone have a good way to keep avocado from turning black? I have tried dousing the cut side with lemon juice and Stay Fresh, covering it with plastic directly on the surface but nothing seems to keep…

Travel tips
My husband and I are planning a trip to Tokyo the end of May. I know this is going to be a very long flight and would love some suggestions on what kind of snacks I should have for the flight. My husband is retired and has taken over the cooking in the evenings when I work. I do appreciate coming home to a ready meal but he fries everything. I…

Tonic water and Diabetic nerve damage
My doctor recently recommended drinking tonic water to help relieve the symptoms of diabetic nerve damage. I have been doing this and it does seem to help but I noticed that tonic water is very high in sugar--36 grams per 12 ounce can. Is there sugar free tonic water? The stuff tastes disgusting but I add a little lemon…

More filling breakfast ideas
I have been making a point of eating breakfast, usually oatmeal with yogurt, yogurt with granola, or cereal with fruit. I find I am hungry in a very short time. This morning I tried a boiled egg with a slice of multigrain bread and yogurt and am still hungry in just a couple hours. It seems if I'm hungry right away, I feel…

Breakfast
I have not been a big breakfast fan other than making a big breakfast on the weekends or holidays. It always seemed too much work early in the morning and I really couldn't face food that early either. I have been looking for simple things that I can prepare ahead of time or make quickly on the mornings I work early. Have…

posting BGL levels
How do you post BGL levels on the food diary? Also, I have noticed that some have times with their meals and snacks not just at the end of the day. How do you do that on the diary?
