  • Cornish Pasty!!! YUMMYYYYYYY!!! Hmmm, I'm an American IN the UK, so I guess I can't guess....lol
  • OK, so I've read all 8 pages of this thread...and now I'm starving!!! Hubby better get that bbq going soon or I'm going to eat the cat!
  • Yeah that's what everyone says...guess I should try it eventually.
  • I want to try this...but I know hubby doesn't like it, and I doubt daughter would like it...so I don't want to buy any not knowing whether or not I'll like it.
  • The Brits can criticize, but they sure do LOVE fast food. The few times I've walked into a McD's here, the places were PACKED! Like...no place to sit. I love the English and their food, but they do tend to stereo type Americans and food. No not ALL Americans eat burgers, pizza and hot dogs. MOST of our food (the home…
  • I just want to say as an American living in the UK, the hot dogs here are GROSS...and I'm not that overly fond of our American hot dogs (I don't like processed meats much). Most of the "American" style hot dogs here are in a can or a jar full of some brine...and the casings feel like plastic. BLECH! I love Bramley…
  • I still feel like that and I've lost 31!
  • Well, there are 2.2 pounds in a kilo, and 14 pounds in a stone....so 9.6 stones if my math is right.
  • I cannot do cereal for breakfast. It makes me ravenously hungry after about an hour and a half. I love my porridge in the morning...it fills me up and keeps me going.
  • I eat them all. Actually that's a lie. I don't like brown rice...so I eat white rice, when we have it. Tonight, I even had a big plate of pasta...but it all fit in my calories for the day, with room to spare
  • I usually have a few calories left at the end of the day and IF I want a small snack I will grab TWO cookies, no more than that though, along with a cup of tea. If after that...my mouth still wants food, I will climb into bed.
  • Well, nothing that is caused from being over weight but issues that are aggravated by the extra weight. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis...so my joints are bad anyways, but the extra weight doesn't help. Depression (been that way for years) but being fat made it worse obviously because if you don't feel good about how you look,…
  • We love pizza...but we make our own. I use whole meal flour, a bit of sauce, I can control the amount of cheese, and then we load it up with veggies...or shredded chicken that I've cooked ahead of time. Frozen pizza, and pizza parlor food I try to stay away from...so yummy, but so bad calorie and sodium wise. Pizza is my…
  • I'm one of those who will try just about anything once. How bad can it honestly be if they're considered delicacies in some parts of the world? If they were prepared in a nice way, I would try it. It would be better than starving. I will draw the line at eating anything that's still alive though...nothing squiggling and…
  • Oats are so versatile! If eating them in the morning, I make them with water...then add a bit of brown sugar and cinnamon or some pure maple syrup. I also make savoury ones, add some caramelized onions, some herbs and spices...or some cheese and herbs. There are TONS of ideas out there. Making some today with spring onions…
  • This is me too...I don't get my M-F exercise, but I'm far busier and moving about constantly on Sat&Sun. I've been doing this the same way since January and have been losing pretty steadily.
  • 12:19 here in Staffs, UK. Waiting for about another hour before calling my God-daughter back in the US where her time is only 07:19. She's making her first communion today!! Plus I need to call my mom to wish her a Happy Mother's Day!
  • LOL...well I'm an American living in England and Mother's Day was in March here, so nothing special planned. I usually eat rather well on Sundays here anyways though. We typically have a big roast dinner and today is no different. Lamb, roasted potatoes, lots of veggies, yorkshire puddings, and gravy...oh and a glass of…
  • I love oatmeal (porridge) and I eat it just about every morning. I typically make it plain and then add a tablespoon of brown sugar and a dash of cinnamon, but today...I wanted to try something different. I made a savoury oatmeal with caramelized onions and curry powder. It was yummy! I've found a bunch of different…
  • Bumping so I can find this later!
  • Peanut butter just isn't a "thing" like it is in the US. Kids don't grow up eating PB&J. I don't think you can even get grape jelly here (although Jelly is a completely different thing here). Daughter and I were in London last month and saw Reeces Peanut butter cups for the first time since coming here...I bought her one,…
  • You're looking incredible! Keep up the good work!
  • mmmm looks yummy! We're cooking out tomorrow...I may just have to try this one. I love potato salad.
  • Water, black coffee, tea with a bit of milk, sometimes I'll go a bit crazy and have some low sugar black current and apple squash in my water (UK product). If we go out I'll have soda water with lime or a small glass of red wine. That's about it.
  • Last time I measured, my thighs were 25 inches...still not where I want them but better than the 28 inches they started at! I don't think they'll ever be exactly how I want them...but if I can tone them up so they don't jiggle quite so much, I'll be happy!
  • Part of the other problem is cooking skills. Great a bag of chickpeas is cheap, but if you don't know what to do with them what good are they?? People aren't taught how to COOK nutritious meals these days. Kale, another super yummy and nutritious food, but again...if you don't have a clue how to prepare it in a way that…
  • Black coffee and my porridge. Its what I have pretty much every day if I have breakfast. For whatever reason, I never get sick of it.
  • You look absolutely AMAZING! Thanks for posting because you're an inspiration!
  • My homemade curry chickpea burgers...YUMMY! Made a big batch the other day and froze them all so I have a quick lunch all ready to go. Not sure they'll last too though :)
