jb, Laura, DeeDee Good suggestion about reading the MFP success stories at night. I like that idea! Also, jb, you're right, sometimes it's thirst. I promise to drink more water, especially after 7pm. Thank you all for responding back to me. BTW, I exercised yesterday AND today... that's, let me see, where's my calculator,…

Hello everyone... I subscribed / posted / enjoyed this thread several years ago, and you helped me to lose 21 lbs, but life happened and I went almost all the way back to where I was - - gained back 19 lbs. So, now I am determined to try again. With the help of MFP. My plan is not easy ... first, get the exercise back up…

Count me in! I'd love to vary my routine, it was getting monotonous. Thanks for organizing.

I have a hard time with 1300 also. Sleeping is tough when the stomach growling wakes up the neighbors! I try to exercise 200 calories a day (for me that's walking 35 minutes) so that I can eat at least 1400 calories and still net 1200. It's amazing what a difference those 200 calories make at 9pm (like half an…

 I am glad everyone enjoyed the "prayer". Jokes about aging are particularly poignant at New Year's! :grumble: I am a little jealous of all the ladies who are already grandmothers, and Barbiecat, your new grandson Jesse is adorable. Neither of my two sons (25 & 28) are married so I'll just be sitting here reading…

Season's Greetings, Barbie and everyone. I'm back again. Some of you know I kind of dropped out when my Mom moved in with me in July. She struggled for the last six months and then passed away December 2nd. I don't quite have my "mojo" back yet, but I'm really hoping to find it soon and get back on track. Happy New Year…

Hello Everyone It's been weeks since I have posted. I'll bet I missed 500 posts. I live 3 miles from the San Bruno fire and worked Friday and Saturday all day at the shelter for evacuees. My job was preparing food and feeding people (LOL). On Friday we served 780 meals and on Saturday about 500. Met Mrs. Schwarzenegger…

Hi Ladies It does seem like many of us are dealing with aging parents. ( Me too, Mom just lost her driver's license two weeks ago, thank god ) I see two "Good News" aspects to dealing with aging parents... 1. I have a Polar FT7. Metal doesn't touch my skin anywhere. The watch back is plastic (and you don't have to wear the watch for it to work, obviously) and the part on my body is a cloth strap of some kind. Funny story about the Polar FT7 - - they are recognized by certain cardio machines - - and I walked into the exercise…

Started going gray at age 18 - my older son is 27 and at least 5% gray. Poor guy got my genes. I've been coloring since I was 30. When I hit 45 I decided to let the gray grow out but my sons (teenagers at the time) told me, in no uncertain terms, to go back to coloring. Tempted to try again when I hit 60. Randy
