  • I've had the tofu shirataki noodles. They smell like fish coming out of the package, so you have to rinse them thoroughly. they don't really have much taste. The texture was ok, unlike the Miracle Noodles which were slimy and soft.
  • You're absolutely right... "I need to change my outlook on the diet"... The most important factor in ANY diet is your resolve to making it work. Give yourself a chance! I'm sure it will get better in the next week. And you'll be really jazzed when you find out how much you've lost! Let us know how you do...
  • Hang in there. It does get better. I've been doing this since September and have lost almost 60lbs. The first week was not fun! You should try different items until you find something that works best for you (taste and lifestyle). I tend to get anything chocolate (LOL). I like mixing a 4oz of water with the chocolate drink…
  • Fitbit has a free site and a pay site. I just use the free site. Not sure what the paid site adds.
  • I've had a Fitbit since X-mas. There are a few settings that can be altered to get more accuracy. For example, your step length for walking and running. I checked mine with the My Tracks app on my droid to check the distance accuracy. The Fitbit won't accurately track non-walking/running exercises unless you enter them…
  • I do protein powder (chocolate) in my coffee in the morning for breakfast. High protein, low carb, no dairy!
  • My BF has been taking Daxitrol (non-prescription supplement) for cravings. Got it from IP coach, but can also find it on-line. It is a little pricey, but your only supposed to have to take it for a while (1-2 months) to work. I tend to eat all of the IP chocolate foods. I especially like the PB Choco bar. That seems to hit…
  • I know how you feel! I've lost over 50lbs and had to buy a whole new wardrobe. Hardest part is spending money on new clothes that I'm not sure how long I will wear. I still have a ways to go. Good luck and Good Job!
  • There is a reference to leg cramps and atkins on webmd. http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/new-atkins-new-you-diet Sounds like it should be temporary. I'm not doing atkins, but Ideal Protein which is also low in carbs high in protein. I have had some leg cramps early on, but not really any more. You could also have…
  • Anything you are specifically craving?
  • Cottage cheese. High protein, low carb, and quite a bit of calcium. I would also consider a calcium supplement.
  • I am on the Ideal Protein diet (www.idealprotein.com). You lose about 3-5 lbs per week (without working out!). It is FDA approved and normally monitored by a health professional.
  • Started a diet in September 2011. I've lost 50 lbs so far. Diet is called Ideal Protein. (www.idealprotein.com)
  • I'm currently doing the Ideal Protein diet. But I have looked at the EAS as an alternative because it is also low in carbs.
  • I'm doing the Ideal Protein diet. I am generally around 50g carbs, 30-40g fat, 120g protein, and usually less than 1100 cals.
  • Cottage cheese is high in protein and low in carbs. I agree also with the EAS protein drink comment. You may need something like that to keep your protein high. I but chocolate protein in my coffee in the morning... yum!
  • Have you considered doing metabolic testing? I haven't done it yet, but I've found a place that does resting and exercise metabolic testing. They can tell you what your true BMR is versus the calculated one on various sites. That could help you understand more accurately how much you can eat and exercise/eat.
  • Welcome! I've been on the program since September and have lost over 45 lbs. Send a friend request if you want.

  • Welcome! I've had the same problem. I started in Sept 2011. I bought most of the cook books. Some good ideas in them. I spend at least one day each week-end trying new recipes. So far, I like making chocolate cake out of the chocolate pancake mix. (...well, really, I like anything that involves chocolate!) And I like…
  • I am doing a diet called Ideal Protein which is a lower carb (50-75g) and high protein diet. You also have to cut out sugar. And my typical calories are around 1200 - 1300 per day. I had headaches the first week and was lethargic for a couple. The dietician said to try some water with a little (1/2 tsp) of sea salt if you…
  • Coffee mixed with Chocolate protein mix and SF syrup
  • If you like cottage cheese, it is high in protein (14g per 4 oz) and low cal and low carb. I like it with fruit (especially peaches).

  • I tried everything at first. Some things I didn't like. However, my choco-holic side won out! I tend to stick to the chocolate items. I do like to make the crepes into "wraps" for something more sandwich-like. Here is the recipe for that... 1 package of plain crepe mix (do NOT mix as directed) 1/2 cup water 1 egg white (or…
  • Go to "My Home" then the sub-menu "Goals". On that page you can "Change Goals" and set your calories, protein, fat, etc.
  • You can also try adding a probiotic. That will help digestion and keep thing "moving".
  • Make sure you are getting some oils/fats (e.g., olive oil). That adds lots of cals. But it is important for digestion.
  • I like putting my protein powder (mixed with a little water - 3 oz) in my coffee in the morning with sugar free syrup. Makes for a low carb, high protein Latte! I am currently on Ideal Protein diet, but will switch at some point to another protein powder for maintenance. Also interested in good tasting, low sugar protein…
  • Took me about a week to get past it. Feel great now and have more energy (lower carb, higher protein diet).
  • I'm doing Ideal Protein. I've lost almost 40 lbs since Sept 2011. Low carb seems to work best for me. I have consistently lost weight on the program. It is pricey, but I like the "plan". I've never been successful at dieting on my own, so to have a plan and then learn how to eat right (which is what the program advocates)…
  • I liked swimming. Dr's usually recommend low impact. I also used a stationary bike and walked a lot.
