  • I don't eat regular bread, I eat 7 grain - per slice it is 120 cal, 3 g fiber. 5 g protein. Cut 1 slice in half for a sandwich so tuna sandwich is 230 calories and 20 g protein. Not much fiber but 2 slices would be way too many calories.
  • My yogurt is in fact greek yogurt. I am going to try a 3/4 cup of plain greek yoghurt at lunch today with diced fresh peach blended in the ninja- hope it works.
  • yes I've been using my own excel spreadsheet. Just started again with this one today. Been switching up higher protein one day and more fiber another. Can't do it all in one day without going over my calorie limit. Thanks for your input.
  • Thanks, I read the link and I will do some of the exercises.
  • Thank you. I can be patient and the creams sound like a good idea.
  • I usually chatge myself the highest (if reasonable) to make sure I know where I stand.
  • I agree it's not a diet. I call it a food regimen but means the same as lifestyle. The only thing I have to add is I eat every 3 hours - all small amounts till supper then a normal size portion - The New American Plate. I know alot of people say breakfast should be the big meal, but this works for me.
  • Thanks. I guess it's the cholesterol that's bothering me but as most of you pointed out once in a while is OK. I think my mainterance is 1400 calories a day so I should be able to do that once in a while. Thanks again.
  • I'm 5' 2.5". I'm 65 years old. I was always 103 until I had my first child. I did nothing to keep there, ate what I wanted and although active, did little actual exercise. After my first child I was about 110 and was fine there. Second child and wow! Went way up! Got back down to about 120 and have been on the rise again…
  • I don't eat beef but I can tell you I make turkey meatballs in tomato sauce from a recipe I got when I googled it and they are very good. Good luck.
  • Same here - I aim for 1000 and if I go to 1200 that's ok but I also don't take into account the exercise calories. I am losing around a pound a week and should be at my goal in 5 weeks. But I am 65 and do not require as much as you younger people do to keep healthy.
  • I have a glass of Metamucil then 20 minutes later have a fiber one 90 calorie square and then I am not hungry anymore. Weird I know, but it works for me.
  • No didn't take it that way. I neglected to mention that I started at 143 last November and with diet and exercise I have gone down to 130 and am still losing. I originally put in as a goal 125 but now that I am getting closer and still see fat around the middle I know I need to go further than that and was looking for…
  • Thanks for the info. I am 130 but still have extra fat around the middle so I know I need to lose more, as I said I have a small frame. I will stop when I think it looks fit and trim (too bad I can't do anything about the wrinkles and sagging skin though lol).
  • Thank you very much. Based on that I think 115 -117 is a good goal. Not the minimum but not the maximum either. I didn't see where age fits in there so I'm guessing it's not a factor after all. Thanks again.
  • Don't forget to measure yourself regularly. Sometimes the weight stays the same for a few days but the inches go down as everything starts to tighten up and tone. That is where I find my motivation. And Very Good Luck!
  • Thanks for the tips. We can walk, weather permitting and we do. They can't keep up a pace or go for as long as I need to but like you said, I can always get a video and they can stop when they get tired. Thanks again.
  • When I go to a bbq I eat the bun, lettuce, mustard, cheese, pickles and onions. Makes a great way to join in without the meat lol. I can always eat whatever there is as long as they leave the meat out. No one comments (at least not so far).
  • 1000, and yes I know I'm not supposed to eat less than 1200 but I cannot lose any weight on a 1200 calorie program. I am losing about 1/2 to 3/4 lb a week and it is pretty steady. I have lost 12.8 lb since I started and have 5 to go. I am 65 and 5'3"
