  • I was thinking about getting back to yoga... We do 108 Sun Salutations each Sunday morning...and believe me, you are working. This will be the push I need!
  • Sorry I've not been here gang...sick all week...which means no exercise, which makes you feel worse...sorta....I will try to get moving next week :(
  • Hi everyone! My SW for week 2 was 118 and my GW was 116. Don't think THAT is going to happen...been a stressful week, and some less-than-healthy choices. However, I managed to burn about 800 calories exercising, so in that regard I made the week challenge. Good luck everyone for the weigh-in tomorrow morning!
  • People like to make gross generalizations about things, however, my mom was a heavy diet pepsi drinker...had a seizure. She had to get an EEG done, and the technician at the time randomly asked her if she drank diet pop. Sure enough......

  • I agree with everyone so far..I've run some 5K's, a 10-miler and 1/2 marathon... so, maybe more frequent water stations that stretch out over a few tables..., healthy snacks are nice, I personally don't need the goodie bag of ads and samples, although, maybe some running stores would be happy to advertise, and donate…
  • She's right! I think people often thought they could "sweat it out" by exercising, but your body is busy using energy to fight whatever virus you got cooking, so take a day off. Lots of non-caffeine fluids. Feel better soon, but don't push it in the exercise category. Maybe if you feel up to it in a day or 2, take an easy…
  • That's awesome! Once you get your endurance, the speed will naturally start to pick up. Keep it up!
  • Sounds great! Seems like everyone is burning lots of calories...should be interesting!
  • I've dunked them in salsa...bu that could have a lot of salt too....
  • Kevanos...I do a lot of label reading too.... I tend to look at calories/calories from fat sections on the nutrition label. It is shocking, and I put some of that stuff back if it is nutritionally bereft. It's amazing how much fat is out there.
  • I've been exercising for 13 days straight...thats a biggee for me...and I find that curbs my appetite... I'm hungry, but I dont want to pick and graze at junk all day. (I'm basically a SAHM). When I am hungry, it takes less to fill me up.
  • I'm no expert, but it seems like the more stuff you eat that is prepared, out of a can, microwave meals, etc...the more sodium in there. Also, cheese although good for calcium and protein has some salt.... and you will retain water with more salt in your system. I'm not sure how much water once can retain, but a gallon of…
  • Hi Tia... Looks like you have come to the right place. I have only been on here a short while now, and people are VERY supportive and friendly as well. There are many trainers that have good info and knowlege to help you. Check out some of the challenges...then sign up for one, sort of on a "scouts honor" type of pledge to…

  • Awsome! So healthy....love tomatoes and mushrooms.
  • Hey! This is great, I didn't see the post before, but I got your message, and replied! Good luck to everyone. Beasts of the EAST!
  • Here's my starting stats... 5" 1" about 120 pounds. I need to lose the last 10, so goal is 110 I will message the captain. I think 10 pounds is doable!
  • Awesome! Thank you! Let the losing beging EAST!!!
  • You could try taking yogurt...I get plain, put some fruit, or maybe flax seeds in it.... I like cottage cheese, but I think that is high on the sodium. Are you watching sodium closely? I tend to ignore that, but that could turn into water retention which isn't a good thing. Do raw veggies, whole grain crackers, I also get…

  • It was originally in the NY Times...I think he put the web address link right at the top of his post...there is more in that article that is just awful.
  • As so many of us have said, it was well worth the read and the gentle reminder. We are so number-focused when it comes time to our weight, maybe because the only tool we have is a scale, generally speaking. Clothes are my big indicator, as well as I feel more sluggish. Thanks...you might have tons of people asking you for…
  • Hi all...I'm new here too..just started working out in earnest for 1 week...and not one pound lost despite the <1200 per day calorie goal. I like to think it's "all muscle". I'd like to do the challenge too, need to lose 10 to fit back into my clothes. Maybe instead of a true "weight" challenge, maybe it should be a…
  • I think that it will be a gradual acceptance of your new improved self, as you will gradually lose the weight. Pretty soon, people you haven't seen in a while will tell you how great you look, and then, you will have to buy clothes because the other ones are too baggy on you. It is exhilarating! Go for it!
  • I think there is a "strength training" option to log in under the cardio section. Sure seems like I am working harder than the calories they tell me though.....
  • THAT is hysterical! I will get that image in my head now...I am a school nurse, so I don't have classes, but I see the treats in the office.....
  • I think I'd save them as a treat, think of it like this: one of them is only 40 calories....so, savor them!
