  • You go!!! I think I would have reached my goals faster if I started earlier, but it was a challenge to get one mile under 15 minutes at first. We all have each other to lean on to for support, good luck with your goals my dear!!!
  • LOL that made me laugh! People always think I am in the 120s, but I think the normal weight for my height is 130-167 ish.. I am not sure. I try to go by BF% as it is a bit more accurate than the scale when it comes to measuring progress :)
  • I work out at 4 am when I go to work. It depends on what I am doing. If I am lifting heavy, I like to have a small 200 calorie breakfast with about 20 ish grams of carbs, because I like to have that energy when I am lifting. I typically do 40 mins of cardio after as well. If I am only doing steady state cardio, I do a…
  • Thank you so much!!! I am 5'8. Last month I was at 18% BF and 164 lbs, so I am not sure what my BF percent is now. I get pinched and will do the BF analyzer next week, on the first of december. :)
  • profile pic. Just one kid though, but I was overweight prior to pregnancy
  • When I did the one in my school, the same scan (DXA) reported my body fat and bone density. On the same visit, they said my bone density was way above average for my age most likely due to WB activities (running)
  • I have done it a few times. My university has an extensive exercise science program and we have a DXA machine that they offer free analysis for students and 50 for alumni. I am an avid runner and my legs are extremely muscular, unlike the rest of my body. My tape and caliper tests show 18-22%, but when I did the DXA, it…
  • I don't know if vibrams would work well with flat feet as you need support. I do love mine only for pavement running though, it is a no go for treadmill running.
  • LOL at holly - Yes this board is my speed. When it went too fast and there were too many people I was just like man forget it I can't even keep up lol! well just what has been happening with me the past 3 months, DJ never latched on and the lactation consultant was not there at the hospital so I didn't get much support. I…
  • YAY a pre pregnancy board! I will try to be more active but it is difficult to find a balance! Since all the girls on the pregnancy board did a "get to know you" survey...I figure we mine as well too :) Name: Lexi Age: 22 Partner: Husband Dominique Career: RN, BSN....to be! Graduation May 2012 Where you are from:…
  • I am breastfeeding as well and I am not really losing too much, gained about 33 and already lost 25 and seem to be at a standstill. I am 6 weeks postpartum and I started working out at 3 weeks pp but I seem to have an issue with eating enough to keep my supply up. I take up to 2500 a day because any less than that seems…
  • Hello :) dropping in to say hi and encourage the mamas working out I don't know if this has anything to do with my healthy diet/exercise during pregnancy, but apparently my son is "advanced" on his milestones. I really don't know, because I don't have a basis of comparison but doctors/other people have told me that he is…
  • Gave birth to my baby boy 9/18 at 10:41 am. Total weight gain was 30 lbs, baby boy was 9 lbs 5 oz! Planned for a natural unmedicated `birth and the whole point of me being healthy during pregnancy was to avoid preE because I was already at high risk for getting it, but I got diagnosed with it the LAST WEEK of my pregnancy,…
  • Bloody show today for the first time ever... had membranes stripped yesterday at noon, hope labor is coming soon...
  • Had my 39 (almost 40) week appt today. Got sent to triage because of my BP. Had an NST, he was doing good and BP leveled off. Still elevated but at my baseline. Almost got induced today but thankfully they didn't. Scheduled an induction at 41 weeks on the 16th hopefully he comes out on his own. My husband starts his leave…
  • Rayna - You know what, I used to run everyday pre pregnancy also, then they made me restrict working out for 4 weeks, I believe from week 8-12 (on top of already being lazy and barely working out before due to 1st tri fatigue). I started back up light jogging and worked my way back up to 6/7 mile long runs till 20 weeks,…
  • I guess I should set weekly goals now. Seems more realistic.. pardon the details. Maybe I need to write it down so I can be accountable. My week was kinda messed up because of the holiday so only going 3 days (but I would think walking around for 12 hrs at the hospital would somewhat count) but here goes.. 6 Sept (tue) - 3…
  • Khrys - I didn't start showing till around 30 weeks, and people thought I was having a December baby... feels like I caught up though, since I feel HUGE right now - I am growing so fast that I am running out of clothes... Still wearing nonmaternity shorts with a bella band but the past week they started getting a little…
  • Holly - I have my moments when I am done being pregnant LOL... Like when I study all day and I guess I sit for too long and I retain water... maybe? then I can't breathe and feel bloated.. I just finished a round of zumba and feel a lot better. I guess it just shows how important it is to keep active through the pregnancy…
  • My belly "popped" out the past couple weeks. People still say I am small but my picture from 2 weeks ago and this week are like.. BOOM!!!! I can't breathe and my fingers are slightly swollen. I am so done being pregnant and am about to serve little dude an eviction notice soon.. I think I am 25 lbs up now. blah.
  • I am gonna try to keep up with this :) Today I met with my doula, she is also an RN so my reasons for wanting a natural childbirth made total sense to her, she is not a close minded doula that is all gung ho on natural being the only way to deliver (which is how a lot of them are) ANDDDDD she is a Christian doula which is…
  • So.. went in for my 36 week appt today with a new NP and for the first time she actually questioned my US, LMP etc, and pulled out a chart for the + / - days of late (in my case 13 weeks) ultrasounds. She moved my due date to the 20th from the 12th thank goodness, which is what I have been trying to tell everyone this…
  • I can fit into a small but prefer the medium. They STRETCHHHHHHHHH. I got a large the first time and it fit okay, but wanted a size smaller to hug a little better. I am a lil bit under 5'8 I wore a 5/6 and sometimes 7/8 pre pregnancy depending on where I shop. Got the size 6 in my gap maternity capris and I had to make the…
  • I swear by GAP maternity. If you time it right, they ALWAYS have 40% off deals at least once a month. My pure body tanks which fit amazingly (for everyday and working out) end up costing 10 bucks or less sometimes, and they are originally 18 to 24 bucks Motherhood shorts I got (35 bucks) have lasted me through the…
  • Hola ladies :) So today was interesting. I was at the gym lifting weights early this morning and this lady randomly comes up and asks me to be in a "fit and pregnant" photoshoot. It is a 2 page spread in a military magazine featuring exercises safe for pregnancy. No biggie, it was pretty fun though and my quads are…
  • HI :) Haven't read anything new since I have been out but I just wanna say things are looking up. There were just a lot of things that came up and the combination of everything plus being pregnant just really stressed me out to the point where I seriously thought I was having pregnancy related depression.. But it only…
  • Post baby workout: P90x about 2 or 3 weeks after baby? also, start walking around that time and hopefully break into a jog lol Goal weight: Hmm.. looking like I am going to gain about 30 lbs, (198 lbs from 168)... My pre-half marathon weight in november was 160 and I gained 15 lbs during thanksgiving/christmas and lost it…
  • Wanna share what this pregnant runner posted on BBC yesterday on my running board: "I actually ran the most in my third trimester since I was on exercise restriction from 8-20 weeks. I had to build up my fitness again after that so I did my longest race (a ten miler) at 29 weeks (aside from a marathon very soon after I got…
  • atynk- Every week since 18 weeks I thought it would be my last week of running, but I managed to pull a little run here and there. I think with being pregnant, there will be good days and bad days. I had pain and stopped when I did and thought I was done, but 3 days later I am back on it. Some days I can barely do one,…
  • Hi :) Checking in again. There are so many people in our group :) Calorie goal? I am going to cosign for what is previously stated, I am almost 31 weeks with a 23 ish lb weight gain, and that's with maintenance in first, 200+ in second and about 300+ now, and worked out at least 3x a week on bad weeks, but 4-5x a week on…
