Sounds good! I'm right on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, so no altitude at all. So about how long to bake a loaf and what temperature?

Sounds good, but I'm trying to stay away from white flour right now to see if I have any noticeable changes in my body or mood without it.

Which is why I'm not buying their supplements or pills. Just trying the low GI eating plan.

You can also get unflavored whey protein powder and add it to soups, sauces, and batters. It will thicken anything you put it in, so if you don't have a specific recipe that includes it as an ingredient you have to figure out what consistency you like. There are many protein pancake and waffle recipes on the Internet, as…

Glad you and your daughter had a great vacation! We went on a disney cruise year before last and I think that was the best vacation we've ever had. They treat you like a millionare!

I totally agree! My happiness does not depend on the number on the scale! I haven't lost a pound in months, but I am a little bit happier with the way my body looks and performs everyday. I guess that's a NSV! (non scale victory)

What this article talks about is exactly what I did almost two years ago. What finally motivated me was when my mom got diagnosed with heart disease and I got diagnosed with the same genetic condition she has. I knew if I wanted to live a long, happy life I had to make healthy changes. Now I am going through the process to…

The Belgariad series or the Malloreon series by David Eddings. I first read these books when I was in high school and I have re-read them every year since. Similar to JRR Tolkein, but much more positive and hopeful.

I wait until salmon is on sale, then I buy a large filet. Bring it home, season it, (I like lemon pepper on mine), cut it in 4 to 6 ounce pieces. Place each piece on parchment paper. Put parchment paper and piece of fish in ziplocs. Freeze for later. When you want to cook it unzip the bag half way and put in the microwave…

Everybody's body is different, but your formula works for me. I'm at 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat, and I'm finally losing pounds by upping my calories.

Me... We're going to Hawaii in April!!!! I will lean out, I will lean out, I will lean out. I think we might have a matching set of bikinis, but mine will be blue on my freshly spray tanned body! Aloha.

I hate cardio too. What works for me is competition. I do a boot camp class M,W,F and yea, we say it's okay if somebody can't keep up, but most of us in the class get tired, want to stop, then we look at everybody else still going, and just suck it up and do it!

She also was Troi's mother in Star Trek the Next Generation.

Okay I was going to say both, but after reading the previous posts, I have to say Star Trek. Captain Picard is hot!!! But really, they're both great and the reason is not just beacause of the genre, but because they both imagine a better world where there is hope and heroes.

I've taken many different bootcamp classes and your calorie burn depends on the instructor and if you cheat and don't do the exercises properly. The bootcamp class that I take every M,W,F averages 600 calories for one hour, but most people in that class are super fit athletes that have been in this class for years so we do…

I think some people just need more water than others. I sweat- a lot. So sometimes I will drink three liters a day, especially if I'm talking a lot - don't want bad breath from having a dry mouth.

The most important thing to remember (says my phys therapist) if it hurts when you're doing something, STOP!!! You will only set yourself further back if you're hurting-- listen to your body- pain is your body's way of saying stop you idiot, you're hurting me! The same goes for swelling. Try riding a bike on a low level of…

Are you looking for cardio or strength exercises? I've just been through 4 weeks of phys therapy for my knee. I know how you feel.

LOL!! LOL!!! LOL!!! LOL!!!! That is hilarious, and so true. Reading that brought back so many great many memories of my pets that have passed away and those I still have. Thanks for posting it!

Salt is my nemesis. I crave salt all the time! The thing that works best for me is to brush my teeth and tongue. I'm not sure why, but sometimes it gets me over my craving. I also drink some water so I can have something in my stomach.

I have the same problem with my protein. I asked my dietitian about it and she said as long as your liver is healthy going over on protein is fine. I know animal protein gets further broken down in the liver, not sure about other sources of protein. The protein will slow down how fast you use your carbs, so it makes you…

Years ago I did the Adkins diet and went into ketosis. My breath smelled awful, I had a dry mouth constantly, and I had NO energy. It was all I could do to go to work and just get through the day. I'm pretty sure I wasn't in my most menatally aware state either. In my experience it is not a healthy thing to do.
