  • It's the holidays, all your friends and family are around, and many of them are not at all interested in your attempts at making yourself better. So, what do you do? Well, here's the options as I see them. 1) Bring your own food, and stick with your diet. If you have the willpower for this, all the more power to you. This…
  • Saucony Grid Fusion 3. I've always loved Saucony's shoes. I loved them back when I ran cross-country in high school, and now that I've been doing exercise as an adult I love them again. I use them for my running, basketball coaching (which I'm very hands-on about), and general training (P90, P90X, and soon INSANITY).

  • Caution: entering hipster territory. "Candy" You've probably never heard of it, but it is arguably the single best performance ever turned in by Heath Ledger. Very few people I know have ever heard of it, even fewer made it through the whole movie, almost none of those who did actually enjoyed it. Now leaving hipster…
  • ChallengeAccepted.jpg I'm Chris, by the way.
  • Finished a Service Termination Summary for a person I support who violated his probation and was taken back to jail last week. Got to love working in the Mental Health field.
  • I hadn't heard about this yet! Where is this?
  • Don't forget about our good friend hummus! It's a great way to get some extra vegetables into you! I personally use it to replace condiments on my sandwiches. Also, about your protein shake, look and see if it has sugar alcohols in it. Sugar alcohols are notorious for causing stomach cramps.
  • Wraps are a great thing to throw in a cooler and eat on the go. I personally love doing spinach and artichoke hummus with fresh spinach on a whole wheat wrap. Could jazz it up with some alfalfa sprouts or something too.
  • Not only is my middle name there, so is my first name, lol. Two most popular names for boys the year I was born: Michael and Christopher. What's my name? Christopher Michael. My father was SO original, lol.
  • I'm 24, is that close enough for you? There's actually a lot of us around your age, you just have to look in the right places!
  • Friend request sent! And don't worry too much about your BMI, focus more on feeling good and feeling good about yourself! BMI calculations are an estimate at best, so if you really want a good ruler to measure yourself by, get regular body fat % readings ... or just stand naked in front of a mirror. Either way, you'll be a…
  • Buy in to a chain restaurant. No, seriously! I would want to bring a chain with healthy options in to my area! Not only would it be a great thing for the community at large, but (hopefully) a good return on my investment.
  • Stupid question, but is your trainer a registered dietician? If not, she's in no place to be giving a meal plan, especially one as extreme as that. Y'know, just sayin'.
  • My diary is public if you want to go in depth, but here's an average work day: Breakfast - Whole wheat bagel thin, 1/2cup egg whites, 1/2cup baby spinach Morning Snack - 3oz baby carrots, 2tbsp hummus Lunch - Whole wheat sadwich thin, 2 tbsp hummus, 1cup baby spinach, 2-3oz sliced turkey breast Afternoon Snack - protein…
  • In the process of making the switch from Special K bars to Pure Protein bars. Small increase in calories, HUGE increase in protein (which I need at the point I'm at), and HUGE decrease in sugar. Well worth it.
  • Whey protein is vegetarian friendly, but not vegan. Good way to get lots of protein.
  • I started the day before last, feel free to add me as well!
  • @Edorice: The 40% protein ration was including protein bars and protein drinks. Most of my meals and snacks are rather low in protein. When I first started I used the Body Fortress protein powder, and I think I'll start using it again. @ElaineKatko: According to the formula that came with the P90X set I got, I have a body…
  • First and foremost, have you talked to your doctor? Changing your diet could reveal/create a whole host of issues. Whether it be that you've somehow created a hormonal imbalance (not likely, but possible), to you just don't have that coping skill anymore (SO many people medicate their emotions with food ... been there,…
  • I'm here, I'm male, and if you let me, I'll keep you in line. Add me!
  • I could give you all sorts of ideas, but I'm not feeling too wordy tonight, so instead I'll suggest you look at my diary. Specifically look at Wednesday to Saturday. I work 12 hour shifts on those days, and pack my food for my Morning Snack through the first part of my Evening Snack. See anything on there that confuses…
  • Diet Mountain Dew - 12 oz Can Gues I AM that much of a caffeine addict, lol!
  • I have much better luck with in-ear headphones than over-ear headphones when it comes to keeping them in position while I work out. Right now I'm using a set of iFrogz (seriously, who comes up with these names?!) that I got from WalMart for $10. Sit nicely in my ear, block out a lot of external noise, and the pads on the…
  • Last post was made before your edit was read, lol.
  • Were he not a BeachBody coach, and if his post had more content other than a horribly generic comment about the product specifically designed to get us to look in to the program, then I would probably leave him alone. This is social networking advertising at its basest of levels. So sorry if it seems I'm harping on him,…
  • Admins should come by and lock this. This website has a policy against advertising such products on the forums. Thanks!
  • A new program from the company BeachBody ... which the thread starter is a coach for. THINLY veiled advertisement, no?
  • I pack all of my food for the day before leaving for work, and put all of my day's food into MFP. That way I can see what I'm going to be eating and when, no surprises. I only eat what's in my cooler while I'm at work, and only what I have planned when I get home. Works well for me.
  • I am currently not eating my exercise calories back, as I am transitioning out of what I am considering my "rapid weight loss" phase of my journey. So far my concern has been losing weight, period. Not building muscle, but just good old weight loss. I eat between 1200 and 1300 (a few just over 1300) calories daily, and…
