  • I made the Low Carb Whoopie Pies at Skinny Dip Noodles and they turned out OK. The cookies aren't as firm as I would like, but I'm going to keep playing with the recipe. Maybe add a little more cocoa powder or a whole egg instead of egg whites? I like that the cookies were only 9 calories! I'm trying to be strict against…
  • I don't have any advice really. I control my appetite by doing low carb, but that's not for everybody. I just wanted to say you look great for doing all that eating! You must have a great metabolism. :)
  • Veggies and proteins you cook yourself without adding salt (eggs, chicken, beef, pork tenderloin -- zero fat too!) Maybe keep some protein shakes on hand?
  • I've done short fasts (3-5 days) and I really feel much better at the end. Our church encourages a 10 day fast once a year, but I haven't been brave enough. Maybe I'll try but include protein supplements and vitamins. But to answer your question, I felt better (especially the last 2 days) and lost 4-8 pounds. If I stay low…
  • Love both of those salads! Hmmm, might have to do a Wendy's run for lunch today.
  • I do low carb so a lot of fast food places are a challenge for me. I did find out that Carls Jr (Hardees), Burger King & Jack in the Box will make any burger without the bun (or toss off the top bun to cut carbs in half). Subway & Blimpies also offer all of their sandwiches without bread (OK, so then it's a salad lol) but…
  • If you think that most women who don't do heavy workouts probably have a 10X multiplier for calories, then it's easy to see how weight gain happens so easy! Like if someone's goal weight is 130 lbs, then they can only eat about 1300 calories a day to maintain that weight. An Oreo cookie is 50 calories, so if you're still…
  • I love the petite roasted diced tomatoes! That's the only kind I buy now. I do low carb so do you think that 0 calorie Miracle Noodles or Skinny Dip Noodles would work? They don't have any starch so I don't know if it would be too much sauce.
  • I'm not an expert so take this with a grain of salt, but trainers have always told me to tone or burn calorie use light weights and more reps. To build muscle use the heaviest weight that will let you do 5-10 reps until you "burn" and can't do anymore.
  • I agree with a small thin crust veggie pizza unless you're trying for lower carbs then pick chicken or other protein and ask for light cheese. Some people get chicken wings because the carbs are low but they're like 80 calorie for each "half piece" (they cut the wings in half for a mini drumstick and the flat part). Avoid…
  • I used to like Stallone protein pudding for 100 calories and 0 carbs, but they stopped selling them. I found this Chocolate Protein Pudding recipe that's only 3 carbs. I make a double batch and store it in 1/2 cup Rubbermaid containers. http://bit.ly/X2WyU2
  • I like making soup in my crockpot! Probably sounds weird, but it smells so good and when I get home it's ready. I borrowed this recipe from Skinny Dip Noodles website. Sometimes I add extra chicken and save it to make chicken salad. Lemony Chicken Noodle Soup (serves 4) 2 bags Skinny Dip Noodles, any shape (I use Angel…
  • A personal trainer on another website says if you have stretch marks, then you'll have loose skin because you can't make those go away. But I say you'll be so much healthier after losing 50 lbs that you shouldn't worry about loose skin. I have loose skin on my inner thighs -- oh well.
  • I say no. I tried diet pills years ago. Yeah, they worked (by making me not hungry so I didn't eat). But after about a week they didn't work as well. My doctor told me this would happen and warned me not to increase how many I took each day. I also figured what was I going to do after losing weight -- keep taking diet…
  • Your posts made me smile! I made peace with my thighs years ago. All of the women in our family have muscular thighs and it makes finding jeans a nightmare lol -- when they fit the thighs then the waist is huge! Any tips?
  • I have a million chicken recipes that I make a lot and I'm trying shirataki noodles. I tried different brands and couldn't get past the smelly water but now I found Skinny Dip Noodles and there's only a little bit. They have lots of recipes and I'm experimenting to find my favs. I don't have much time to cook so I look for…
  • I've tried Stillmans, Atkins, Kimkins and Weight Watchers. Each had their good points and not so good. Stillmans was fastest, but I couldn't find enough "legal" recipes to keep it interesting. Atkins always had me with too many calories and now with the "net carb" thing I actually gained (!) Kimkins worked the best because…
  • I think it depends on why you're counting sugar. If you're diabetic, then it's important so you don't get low blood sugar from meds. If you're trying to lose weight faster than 1 pound per week, then all sugar counts because sugar is carbs. Your body uses carbs for energy before anything else. Too many carbs means slow (or…
  • I do low carb so I always keep a stash of protein for snacking in the fridge. Boiled eggs, grilled chicken strips, tuna salad or even canned protein shakes. HTH
  • But I think "lean body mass" means muscle -- not including the weight of your bones or being 72% water. I read a study a couple years ago (can't remember the university) and they said women might only need 30-35 grams of protein a day. Your body repairs and replaces tissue/muscle constantly and uses the amino acids to…
