  • I feel the same way. I've lost 105lbs in the past yr without surgery & I still find it hard to get clothes because you can see it all bunched up under my clothes! I feel like I still need to hide. Swimsuit shopping was HORRIBLE, all of the skin pushed up & came out any openings in the suit, I nearly cried in the fitting…
  • Congratulations!!!!!!!!! You are amazing, you have rocked this journey & I hope you continue to do amazing things girl! xo
  • Congratulations! Awesome job!!
  • Its different for everyone & I honestly think it also depends on what size you were when you began. I started out at 295lbs, so 20lbs gone for me was mostly noticeable in my face only but it was at least the 20lb mark or more before people started to tell me. For me personally, I had 70lbs gone before I could see it by…
  • If you are tracking your food on here I would go back over it & check sodium contents. Sounds to be like you are retaining fluid & sodium will do this. It also takes more then a day for it to get out of your system. If I eat over my daily sodium allowance (I aim to leave a few hundred daily), I will notice 2-3 days later…
  • 5'4, started out Feb 2013 at 295lbs, by my 1yr ann I had 100lbs gone, I now sit at 105lbs gone (just had hernia surgery mid March so I've been on a stand still, 6wk post op is only days away!). I still have 40lbs to go but you are welcome to add me. I log daily, today is day 460 for me. Good luck with your journey, its…
  • Not sure what you are thinking you want to lose, I started out last Feb (2013) at 295lbs I ate a ton of take out & didn't exercise. I didn't do anything drastic, I changed my eating habits, cut out a few food items, exercised regularly & ate my calories alloted whcih at the time was 2070, I ate about 1700 or 1800 of those…
  • Hey! I am 33, started my journey 14mths ago, by March 14 I had 105lbs gone. I had hernia surgery that day so I am post op almost 4wks & everything is on hold until my 6wks are up. But I started out at 295lbs, I still have 40lbs to go & hope to get to my goal this year. I blog often & have since the start. I log daily.…
  • If I am craving something really bad I have it but within reason. I often crave chocolate esp during ToM, I keep milk choc frosting in my cupboard just for that reason lol I have a teaspoon, its half a serving & I savor every bit. It works, craving is gone asap & I am good for the day. Its about 50 cals but better then a…
  • I am re-reading these as well for the 2nd time, currently on Dragonfly in Amber. Loved them the first time so had to read them again to be fully prepped for the series this summer & book 8 in June! I also just finished "Motherfumbler" by Vicky Murphy. She is a mommy blogger from my home province of Newfoundland & her…
  • Hi Natalie, I am Garlanda, I am 33. I started my journey Feb 2013 & have 105lbs gone, 40 to go. I was 295lbs when I started. I log daily & am always here to support. I also keep a blog since week 1. Feel free to add me :-)
  • I agree, it varies for everyone, if you are someone who holds alot of weight in your face then you will most likely see a big change, but if you have overall small features it might be very little. I found by 50ish lbs gone I def had lots it in my face but to me it wasn't drastic but by the time I hit 85lbs gone I could…
  • When I was forced to start my journey by my surgeon (love that guy!) in order to get my hernia repaired, my awesome hubby joined me. In Feb 2013 I started out at 295lbs, my current weight is 190.6 & my goal is 150lb - I am 5'4/33yrs old. Hubby was 305lbs & reached his goal weight by Aug, he is maintaining around 212-215ish…
  • I started out a year ago at 295lbs, 5"4 & 32yrs old. I set my goal at 1lb a week because honestly my opinion is that anything more then that is not being realistic, at least not until you are into this & see that you are truly going to change your life & stick to it. So many people give up so killing yourself for 2lbs a…
  • When I started to find all my clothes too big I held out as long as possible washing my pants in hot water then drying them in the dryer then a friend suggested leggings. They are awesome! They shrink with you esp if you put them in the dryer lol I started out in 1x leggings (wore 26pants) & now I am into a large. They…
  • you are welcome to add me, I started out Feb 2013 with 145lbs to lose, I have 101lbs gone. I am on here all the time, I haven't missed logging a day in all that time. My diary is private but I am still here every day & support everyone as much as I can.
  • 103 lbs gone since Feb 2013 no plateau yet, 42lbs to go so we'll see! But I find mixing up exercise helps alot or I assume that's what is doing it. I've been told over & over again I will hit a plateau but no signs in sight yet. Yes things have slowed down but still losing regardless.
  • I always have a snack at 930/10pm because I would never make it to my 9am breakfast the next day otherwise. I also drink lots of water up to bedtime. I could never skip my evening snack. It doesn't have to be junk. My hubby often does cereal with strawberries in it, broccoli with ranch dip, sometimes an assortment of…
  • Hey Danielle! Feel free to add me, I started my journey a year ago at 295lbs. I have lost 103lbs so far, 42lbs still to go. I am 5'4, 33yrs old, married for almost 13yrs & have 2 pretty awesome kids. I log in every single day & love to help support you on your journey to a better you :-)
  • I actually try not to mix my foods together just for this purpose, because any food left over I do weigh again & take off my totals. The couple times I have mixed it, I weigh it & split the difference unless I know there was alot more of one thing then another. At this point its only a guess but still better then nothing.
  • I did, actually I lost 47lbs in just about 3mths BUT I started out at 295lbs with 150lbs to lose, was eating a ton of take out, junk food & not exercising. Stopping just those things alone was huge for me then add in eating more fish, chicken, fruit, cutting out certain foods entirely & drinking water plus exercising…
  • I've lost almost 100lbs in the past year & I absolutely hate veggies too, the only veg I have eaten the entire year is potatoes but very limited of those. So its def possible to do. I eat more fruit to accommodate my lack of veggies, I eat portions, I eat only chicken or fish for my supper, have cut out some foods…
  • I have a Polar F7 & find it way more accurate then the MFP database or my elliptical, esp for the elliptical, there is a drastic diff (ie: elliptical would say I burned 450 cals but HRM says 200ish). For walking though I find 90% of the time its pretty close to the data base. However because this holds all your data…
  • wow you look absolutely AMAZING!!!!! Thank you for sharing, for staying on track & all of your hard work. Thank you for keeping us inspired!!
  • Hang in there, the 3-4wk mark is usually the hardest!! That was when it hit me what I had done to myself all of these years by eating crap & letting myself get to 300lbs! Push through, be super proud of yourself for even deciding to do this to start & even more proud of your 8lb loss. I found by the 6wk mark I got it, this…
  • I have the Polar F7 Heart Rate Monitor, best purchase ever. I use it for all forms of exercise!
  • I do it only once, the first # I get I count. The only time I did it twice was when I realized that I wasn't standing on the scale properly (my scale has certain spots to put your feet) so then I did it again & the # went down by .4ish so I took that # since I knew it was more accurate.
  • wow you look amazing!!!! Congrats on all of your hard work, it paid off that's for sure!
  • you look amazing!!! congrats!!
  • My advice is not to weigh in daily if it will bother you when the number doesn't move because that is exactly what happens. Your #s will go up & down all week long, its the main reason I only weigh in on Fridays because the fluctuations would drive me nuts. Do your measurements & do them regularly, I do mine monthly. When…
