How to eat healthy if you HATE veggies?! HELP!

I’m getting ready to start an AdvoCare 10 day cleanse and have no idea how to prepare foods for such a thing. I’m determined to get healthier, but I detest veggies
I like corn, potatoes, and fried zucchini…all a no no.
I also like tuna (with mayo) & salmon (rather, salmon patties, mixed with egg and fried) & shrimp (prepared any way, thankfully)...MOSTLY...no nos
Could someone give my SPECIFIC recipes that may help me? I’ll TRY anything, but I know I’m gonna need to prepare it specific ways. I’ve been told that I can use Mrs. Dash seasonings, unsure if that’s true.
Also, what condiments can I use with this diet? I’ve got the graphs that come with the package, but again, I’m an idiot when it comes to dieting and need some SPECIFIC meals.

Have you ever given green smoothies a try? I usually do half spinach half varous frozen fruit (half a frozen ripe banana and then other frozen blueberries / strawberries / mangos / whatever I happen to have). I usually also put in a heaping tablespoon of protein powder, but that's completely optional.0

Have you tried different preparations of the vegetables? What about baked/roasted zucchini? You can slice it with some onion and potato. Bake at 350, stirring occasionally to avoid burning. Season with italian seasoning, salt and pepper.0

Unfortunately, its one of those things where you will have to learn to love all of them if you want to love all of them like you want to do.
Start with the easy ones like green beans or corn or potatoes and then work up to the more acquired tastes ones like brussel sprouts, dark greens, broccoli, and even just raw cucumbers.
I love all my vegetables chopped, roasted with olive oil and a spice mix at 400 for 10-15 minutes to retain the crunch.0 -

if you like zuchini, try it roasted for 30 mins add a little parm cheese and seasoning salt its wonderful
side note : I know u said you dont like much else but if you like zuchini you most likely enjoy summer squash prepare with it ^0 -

Just looking for "better" foods than what you listed won't require a "cleanse" or even a huge, drastic change. Log your calories daily (and I mean EVERYTHING you put in your mouth) and maintain a deficit. There's not reason you can't eat pizza once in awhile if it fits into your daily needs.0 -
The salads I have for lunch are actually very yummy!
Two handfuls of baby spinach, baby kale, and chard
One sweet bell pepper (red, orange or yellow) chopped into itty bits.
One mini cucumber, sliced
Two handfuls of sweet (mini) tomatos
One handful of sugar snap peas
and two tablespoons of yummy, vinegar-based Renees Gormet salad dressing!
Yum, yum!
And it's only 300ish calories to boot!
Then I have mixed veggies with hummus dip for my afternoon snack.0 -

Sweet potato is really nice, it can be baked just like normal potato, I had it tonight and it was delicious!0

Also try roasting sweet potatoes cut like fries with salt pepper and paprika toss with a little coconut oil or whatever you use...
Dip it in ketchup mix with a dash or two of hot sauce...
My husband hated sweet potato
until he dipped it in to sweet and spice ketchup0 -
No idea how to do that cleanse, but in my experience cleanses don't provide sustainable change.
They're great if you're eating well and want a boost, but start by eating well!
The best way to get to know/ enjoy veggies is by substitution.
Instead of 3 kinds of fruit in your smoothie, add 2 parts fruit, one part leafy greens.
Make some meat balls- add onions, bell peppers, and garlic to the raw meat. Hate them THAT much? Put the veggies through the blender before adding them so you won't have to see them or deal with their texture.
Add blended or finely chopped veggies to spaghetti sauce, soups, casseroles, dips, hamburger patties, etc.
You don't have to love huge chunks of broccoli to tolerate tiny shredded pieces in your chili.

I make a veggie soup. Saute onion, garlic, carrot, celery, Italian seasonings in a little olive oil for about 7 min. Add a low sodium broth like veggie or chicken (or a mix of both). Then add chopped up veggies like zucchini, squash, spinach, and kale. I also add a can of rinsed beans like kidney or northern. If I have left over chicken, I may through that in there. I can only get a salad down once every other day or so. But I can eat this soup daily.0

Have you considered juicing? you would get all the nutrients you need just by drinking..... you get used to the taste....0

I think what the lady who first comment was trying to get at is to have an open mind....to change you body/ habits..you must do something different...you really should do some pinterest recipe searches helped me alot with ideas0

Recipes aside, this "cleanse" you are doing sounds quite restrictive if you aren't allowed toe at certain types of vegetables, and if you are planning to eat only vegetables plus this AdvoCare potion for the next 10 days you're going to have a bad time. It looks like a laxative dressed up as a metabolism booster, which is a load of... crap. Which, by the way, is also likely to feature prominently.0

Seeing as it's marketed as a "cleanse", it's already a bad idea. Seeing as you hate the food they want you to eat, doubly so. Knock it off, just eat what you like at a calorie deficit.0

I eat potatoes all the time, and fresh corn all summer. And I like grilled or roasted zucchini better than fried.
I was never a big fan of veggies until I started grilling and roasting them. Olive or coconut oil and a little balsamic vinegar does wonders for almost any veggie, and roasting or grilling brings out their natural sweetness.
Zucchini - slice it up, toss in some sliced red bell peppers, sliced onions, mushrooms, and toss it all with a little oil and a few shakes of balsamic. A little garlic powder, or herbs de provence, dried or fresh rosemary - whatever you've got, and a bit of salt and pepper, and roast it on a cookie sheet around 350º for 20 minutes or so, stirring occasionally. Also awesome on the grill in summer - just get one of those grill baskets or woks to go on the grill so the smaller veggies don't fall through (and go easy on the oil which of course will flare up).
Butternut squash is so tasty roasted - cube it up (or buy the precut stuff), toss with coconut oil, salt & pepper and some dried sage. 425º, 20-30 minutes or so, stir occasionally.
Sweet potatoes are super tasty - bake in their skin (microwave or oven), scoop out of the yummy flesh and top it with a little butter (yes, BUTTER!), and sprinkle a little cinnamon on it if you like. If you like it sweeter, a drizzle of honey.
Check Pinterest or Google recipes for other roasted veggies - brocooli, squashes, green beans, asparagus - there's lots of good sources out there. And roasting/grilling them opens up a whole new world of flavor!0 -
Cleanse what? You do not need to do a cleanse.
Eat foods you like, within a calorie goal that gives you a deficit to lose weight. Of course you can eat more volume of "healthy" foods than high calorie "junk" food. But you can still eat those things in moderation.
Don't plan a diet that you can't stick with for the rest of your life, otherwise you will just gain the weight right back when you stop.0 -

^^^ exactly what I thought! Not a very nice response to her simple question which I think was more a curiosity since there are other ways ie: weight watchers that seem to be more realistic since you hate everything you are supposed to eat on your cleanse. You could also just add fresh fruit& vegetable juice to a healthier diet to get the benefits and nutrients from veggies without eating them!0 -
Some people who don't normally like veggies find that they like them roasted. Try putting some olive oil on them and cooking them (sweet potatoes, carrot, broccoli, cauliflower, even Brussels sprouts!) at 425 for about 35 minutes. You might become a veggie lover.0

I understand what this person is saying, even if it wasn't said very elegantly. I have tried many occasions to drop foods I like and try to eat food I don't like (e.g., salads, tomatoes, celery, etc.). In the end I just got angry and upset, and gained more weight after going back to my regular diet. Hence it isn't sustainable. I don't like veggies, especially raw. Right now I am content on eating steamed broccoli, carrots, and brussels sprouts with supper. And maybe that might lead my taste buds into a better direction in the future.
I don't know what this diet is you are referring to is (never heard of it). But from experience, take it slow. Trying to completely change your eating habits cold turkey has never worked for me. Try finding foods you like that still are healthy. Make homemade pizza's out of pita bread, where you have control over the toppings, instead of buying one from dominos, for example.
Like others have said, just track everything. Eat at a deficit, and try to have some kind of balance.
That might not have helped you at all if you are set on the diet you mentioned, but I guess my response is just a warning that a lot of the time they just don't work out, and you don't have to put yourself through emotional turmoil to reach your goals.0 -
No, sorry. The diet doesn't consist of just veggies. As I mentioned, it allowed egg whites, meats, seafood, and a few other "healthy carbs" such as rice. I'm not having trouble with this diet...I just am aware that it consists of veggies and would like to know how to prepare them as a side dish with my meals.0

I've lost almost 100lbs in the past year & I absolutely hate veggies too, the only veg I have eaten the entire year is potatoes but very limited of those. So its def possible to do. I eat more fruit to accommodate my lack of veggies, I eat portions, I eat only chicken or fish for my supper, have cut out some foods entirely, allow take out only once a week & then only on my weigh in days & if I do good. There are ways around everything and yes I did try to get myself to like them but it just wasn't happening. My hubby can eat broccoli as a snack, I would sooner be shot :-)
