  • From Shades of Hope treatment center, website www.http://shadesofhope.com/about/ Sugar Addiction and the Brain If you experience strong cravings for sugar, don’t pass them off as something to be ignored. Research has revealed that sugar shares some of the same addictive properties found in substances like nicotine and…
  • You are not alone! Most of us have these struggles. I am in awe of those that forge ahead and seem so strong, they are a few bunch. I always think there is a switch within that I just have not located or flipped far enough to get it. I started back on MFP last Monday, mostly to hold myself accountable each day with logging…

  • Nice chart, Thank you for sharing. I've recently come to this link and have been studying up on the topic. http://www.alkalinesisters.com/alkaline-food-chart/
  • Oh Connie!!!! Thank you soooo much for the invite to this group!!!! My GMO topic the other day was not a good time. I don't mind folks with different opinions than mine but when I'm not allowed to have my own opinion without being jumped on that's another story. I tried to stay civil and hang in there long enough to find…
  • Thank you! Excellent info! I just started back yesterday and looking around for inspiration. You provided a lot! Congrats and continued success to you!
  • I clearly stated I was looking for like minded people. If that is not you or them then why feel you need to post here at all? I've made a few new friends today, that was my goal. If left alone we may be able to meet a few more. Thanks!
  • Thank you for your input but saying that I am attacking anyone is offensive. Where did I do that?
  • I sorry my reaching out to other like minded people is bothering some of you. Please move on to another topic since we are not like minded.
  • This is not locating a desired gene within the corn and turning it on. It is injecting toxins into the corn seed. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mercola/bt-corn_b_2442072.html Seriously, I'm out. I've got housework more important than some of you. jk I hate housework!
  • I'm wondering who you may be working for?
  • Oh my, what kind of expert are you?
  • my last post to bring info to any requesting more... that was not my original intent. perhaps this will give you more info that you desire http://www.criigen.org/SiteEn/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=89&Itemid=132 still hoping for like minded people and I see a few have come along. my main thought was to…
  • Learn from those that have gone before you! He's not the one! I was early twenties, 145 lbs, 5'7". He made me feel I was fat. I starved myself on a canned diet powder for weeks to get to 135. It was wrong and not worth it. I couldn't maintain that low weight. He wasn't the one though it would be a bit longer before I…
  • Interesting info here on wheat. "From listening to an interview on http://www.itsrainmakingtime.com (Kim Greenhouse) I found out that wheat genes were modified some 40-50 yrs ago and it is not the wheat people used to eat way back then. Dr. William Davis, the Author of Wheat Belly explained that it now has 10X the yield &…
  • I agree with this comment from another site. Good info. "From listening to an interview on http://www.itsrainmakingtime.com (Kim Greenhouse) I found out that wheat genes were modified some 40-50 yrs ago and it is not the wheat people used to eat way back then. Dr. William Davis, the Author of Wheat Belly explained that it…
  • Sorry about that. Sugar is know to be an issue, most likely containing GMO's "Sugar: If a non-organic product made in North American lists “sugar” as an ingredient (and NOT pure cane sugar), then it is almost certainly a combination of sugar from both sugar cane and GM sugar beets." High Fructose corn syrup is also listed…
  • OMG, we may be finding common ground! Corporate greed and controlling us is a huge part of GMO's and other worldly problems. I've just begun to check out this group http://www.flushthetpp.org/
  • Yay! A new friend! Thank you!!! I struggle with the expense of organic too, we have to make choices and don't get everything we want. My daughter just moved back to college and is trying to stay organic, on her dime this go round (2nd BA before grad school). We'll see how that goes for her soon. We still eat out…
  • I'm quite familiar with the genetic engineering of wheat. I purchase mostly organic products to avoid GMO's as much as possible. I have given up some foods that I can't get organic. I am not here looking for you to educate me. If you are not like minded as I stated you should really move on to another topic. Thanks for…
  • Your tone from the get go is not nice. I clearly asked for like minded people, which you are not.
  • As stated in OP I'm looking to group up with like minded people. That is my goal, not to argue with or educate others here. I prefer face to face for education which is why I am a volunteer for YES on 522. I offer http://www.responsibletechnology.org/ to you. This has enough info to keep you busy for a bit. :) After that…
  • Of course free will. But that is hard to do when GMO's are being hidden from us. I unfortunately wasn't raised on and did not realize until too late how to pick healthy foods.
  • Agreed! We have a right to know everything that is in the products, GMO's or not. GMO's are actually included on labels in 60+ countries already. Some by US companies that don't do the same for us here in the USA.
  • I'm sorry, did I do that? No I did not. But GMO's are a factor in our weight gain. You sound a bit like a hater... bye, bye. Best Wishes to you.
  • I clearly stated "I can't help but feel it is IN PART to the crap that our FDA and USDA allow to be called food." I made the mistake of thinking anything produced as food was ok to be eating. My fault for not investigating and knowing better. I point to this for more info on how, yes GMO's are addicting.…
  • I'm just back to juicing as of yesterday, adding 1 green juice daily. Will probably add another juice next shopping trip, prefer carrot, orange, beet as my 2nd. I did lose 12 lbs earlier this year with juicing 2-3 times a day.... it was pretty easy so hoping another stint will produce some good results and motivate me to…
