  • When I was a student I got a lot of mileage out of lentils. They are cheap, nutritious and quick cooking. They lend themselves to many types of cuisine so you can make them mediterranean style, indian style to mix things up! Serve them with rice, put some yogurt on top and yum.
  • Not sure about cravings, but T. gondii is a parasite aquired from cat feces that is known to change behavior in mice- not sure what it does to humans... http://www.nbcnews.com/health/cat-poop-parasite-controls-minds-early-permanently-study-finds-4B11194722
  • From your description we are in similar situations... I am making the transition into maintenance, I have a tiny house - although I can afford it, I hate going to the gym (except that I make a concession and swim twice a week- but never step foot in the weight room) and yes I have found myself more critical of my body than…
  • I have had a great experience with Dr. Oz's 2 day wonder cleanse: http://www.oprah.com/health/Dr-Oz-on-Cleansing-Do-You-Need-a-Cleanse requires some juicing and broth making. Works great over a weekend.
  • Yeah- I think when you are overseas you get these weird cravings for home food. For me it was Rice Krispie bars. HAD TO HAVE THEM... and strangely the part of the Netherlands I was living in I could not find Rice Krispies or marshmallows. So when some of my colleagues who were from everywhere but the US went home I had the…
  • Lack of quality of sleep could definitely be the culprit. Perhaps you would do best to address why you are in so much night time pain. Perhaps you need a new mattress? When you get a few solid nights of sleep you may see an improvement. I know from experience that a few nights of not sleeping well will trash my ability to…
  • I know that feeling! That was my first goal too. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
  • My a1c was 5.9 in March when I first joined MFP. Your doctor is right to alarm you- there could be other symptoms that you would never expect. My opthamologist found an aneurism in my eye caused by elevated blood sugars. Fortunately its gone now, but it took a few months of following an anti-inflammatory diet/lifestyle to…
  • bag of shrimp flavored chips. Actually the whole bag minus two chips, my husband ate one and by the time he reached for another I had snarfed the whole bag except for one that I somehow missed...so he got 2 of them purely by accident...

  • Wear 2 bras like Jillian is in Level 1- really helps with the bounce (especially for larger chests).

  • I have had a very similar results-I am 5'2", I eat between 1500-1800 and have been losing ~6 lbs. per month. I started at 170- now down to 141.
  • I log it as Calisthenics
  • I have had success with keeping cellulite away is getting regular massages. I get Shiatsu once a month and I think it makes a world of difference. Cellulite comes from poor circulation, so anything that improves that will do the trick. My masseuse has iron thumbs, she will make you cry, but I think this is one of the side…
  • You might consider that you have a Candida overgrowth. I was just watching a segment of the Dr. Oz show segment on symptoms and a test. Fatigue and brain fog are two of the big symptoms. Unfortunately I couldn't find a link to the show segment, but I found a synopsis of the content here:…
  • I have Ankylosing Spondylitis - a close cousin to Crohn's. I am able to tolerate fiber however I feel best on a low starch diet. My recommendation for exercise is walking and swimming, particularly swimming because no matter how much pain I am in I can still get into the pool and swim a full workout. I think it is…
  • what extra cookies?
  • I recommend drinking beer after you have eaten your dinner. For me it slows me down so that I tend to sip and savor. If I drink it before dinner (while I am cooking...) its a complete disaster- Beer is consumed before I know what happened and then I am really hungry for dinner. So, I find it easier to just wait with the…
