She has more to lose. It is not a unhealthy competition. We are just very competitive with each other and using that as a great motivator to get healthy!

I have been on Effexor since losing my mom 6 years ago. I never want to be without it, I truly believe it makes me a better wife and mother. I found out I was pregnant after I had been on it for a few months, I was on a lower dosage (still am) of 75mg. I continued to take that my entire pregnancy and for the 9th month my…

Awesome job!!! I find the same thing as you.....Just adding the weights burns my fat so much faster!!! I still do a few days of cardio inbetween. What is your workout schedule? Do you do alternate muscles on different days??

I have only had it happen once, years ago. I had one while jogging!!!! You would think that I would jog more often :)

I love rice but simply CAN NOT eat it plain!! I really like to sauté onion, peppers and chicken and have it over brown rice, sometimes I add a little shredded cheddar, very tasty. I know it is high in sodium, but once in awhile if I am low on time, I will put Chunky's Veg. Beef soup over it like a gravy. And another good…

Hummus and carrots.....less than $5 for several days worth Oatmeal and toast Eggs-actually any breakfast meals are usually cheaper tacos-I add brown rice and black beans to my ground beef, it makes enough to last several days depending on how much you eat

sounds good!

5'9" here and I have around 18 lbs to go. I try to eat between 1200 and 1400 calories a day and usually workout 5-6 times a week for 1 hour. So far, so good :)

5'9" from NY. I used to do aerobics, I always felt fit but for the last couple of years I have tried the "biggest loser" workout and I love the results. I alternate strength training and cardio (mainly treadmill) and I feel great. I feel long and lean :)

I am so glad I am not alone!!!!! My coffee is like dessert!!!! Using fat free 1/2 and 1/2 and cutting down sugar helped but I still have to have at minimum 3 cups a day. Of course this works out to be 300 out of my 1200 calorie days!!! I am more than glad to sweat 300 calories per day to make up for my addiction!

My husband is 6ft 4in. He currently weighs in around 250ish. I would like to see him loose at least 25-30 pounds. He was sick several years ago and his weight dropped to 195 and that was wayyyyyy to low. I would say it depends on how much muscle you have/want. I think 207 would be light for him also. I think the 220 mark…

What are stronglifts 5x5
-
Yes, I did mix up reps and sets. Beginning 1 set for about 12 reps. Intermediate 2 sets for 12 reps. Advanced 3 sets for 12 reps.

I am a little surprised she has you doing 3 reps for your 1st time lifting ever. I started strength training using the biggest loser book, it always has people starting with one rep as a beginner, then two as you get stronger for the intermediate and finally the final stage, advanced, is 3 reps. How much is she having you…

My absolute favorite workout routine is from the Biggest Loser workout BOOK. I love it. They have 3 different strength training regimens that you do every other day, plus as you strengthen yourself you increase the number of repetitions. The non strength training days I walked a few miles on my treadmill. Doing this…

Ok......here is my question/scenario.... My husband is 6'4" and needs to lose atleast 30 pounds. Right now he is totally focusing on weight lifting. He is eating better only because I am cooking better for him. He is not keeping an eye on calories. I believe he is just attempting to build muscle. Will this in turn help him…

I know plenty of women who hate the thought of lifting weights, mainly because of the idea of "bulking up", I am not the body time to have that happen but a friend of mine gets pretty manly arms :). It is essential for women as we age to perform strength training exercises. Our muscles deteriorate as we age and in…

My favorites are hummus and carrots, low fat string cheese, raw sugar snap peas, air popped popcorn with fake butter spray and kernel seasonings (white cheddar is my fav)
