  • Sounds like a good week so far for everyone! I saw a 1.5 pound loss for the last week. Which I am very happy about! I have been skipping some meals on nonfast days, which helped I think. Also started incorporating HIIT into my runs.
  • I'm sorry it didn't work out for you dorrie. I feel your pain-- I have been trying without success to lose 15 pounds for two years now. I switched to 4:3 with some skipped meals on nonfast days-this has helped, as I lost 1.5 pounds in the last week.
  • 5 week weigh in has me at 133, with a total of 4 pounds lost. I lost 1.5 pounds I'm the last week, so the pace picked up! I have been doing 4:3, and I have started skipping some meals on no fast days, which has helped keep me from going overboard.
  • Thanks for the feedback! I actually ended up having a good fast day. It was nice cuz it showed me one bad night wouldn't ruin my fast! I think now that I've been doing this over a month, my body is used to it. Kate, I hope your child is over the bug!
  • So I'm a month in to this diet and am down 2.5 pounds. Better than nothing but NOT what I'd hoped for. I did 4:3 this week but ended up with 6-700 on fast days. Still my average calories were about 1300 per day and less, about 1000 net, with exercise. And I am able to go a whole day without eating till dinner, which I have…
  • I started 5:2 a month ago and have lost two pounds--not as much as I'd like. I have a similar pattern to you, flumi, trying for 3 fasts and ending up with 2 low days and one real fast. And eating too much on nonfast days :(. In the 5:2 book it says you might notice a real appetite reduction after 6 months, so I'm hopeful…
  • I am struggling as well. I started this a month ago. Lost 2 pounds the first couple weeks but since then maintained. I have been eating maintenance my non fast days but maybe I'm not tracking carefully enough--there has been some guesswork. I might try skipping breakfast on nonfast days to get my total calories lower. It…
  • Thanks Kate! You are right, the scale has come back down two pounds, which leaves my weight loss at about two - two and a half pounds in 3 weeks. I was hoping for more, but it's something. I am doing pretty well with fast days but have not found my appetite reduced on non -fast days as I hoped. I am now trying 4:3 to speed…
  • Ok I'm frustrated! I have been doing 5:2 for two weeks and was down 4 pounds! Past two days I did eat a lot (lots of social activities) but it's not like I went on an awful binge, and this morning gained back all 4 pounds! I can't believe that happened in just two days. I thought the benefit of this diet was I could have a…
  • I also just started and would love some friends!
  • I just finished my first week and lost 1.5 pounds, so I'm satisfied! I actually went over on my second fast day and ended up having 900 calories. So I added a third day in which I had 900 again. I ended up with one day of 500 and two days of 900. But the weight came off. I am findings some days easier than others, but so…
  • Amanda--thanks for the advice/encouragement! I haven't done measurements, maybe I will start that, but I can't say my clothes feel looser. But I upped my running speed yesterday by running intervals for 4 miles, so I feel good about that :). Enjoy your veggie garden!
  • Checking in; weight still at 135, no progress this week :( I hope to have better news next time! Nice job kittley and ATVer!
  • I'm trying to get more friends for support too!! I'm looking to loose about 15 pounds. I will add you :)
  • I'd like to join! I am 5'3", mother of two (ages 2&4). CW: 135 GW: 125 UGW: 115
  • I'll join! Been trying to lose 15 pounds for two years now.
  • Hi Christina, welcome! I have two young kids--almost 3 and almost 5. I'm going to have to stop calling it "baby weight" soon I guess! I'm realizing that weight control is going to be a lifelong challenge, but one worth taking on. I am trying to Los 15 - 20 pounds. Best of luck to us both!

  • Glad you had a good day auburn :) Monica isn't chard a vegetable? I have had my hands full this past week, both kids got stomach bugs. I've done ok diet wise but dk if it is good enough to see a loss. I went to fancy dinner party last night and was bummed that so many of my nice clothes don't fit me. I'm trying to use this…
  • Auburn: how are things going? I'm glad you are not discouraged. It's true, this is how life goes. I've been known to go through months of low motivation, but eventually, I've always reached my goal eventually (then Christmas comes along, and it's back up again, but that's life, as you said!) Something eventually clicks…
  • Monica; I'm sorry you are frustrated. I am too--my son is almost 3, and I have yet to see the weight I was before I had him. And it is that last 10-15 I can't get rid of! Hang in there, and I know you can make those numbers go down :) I have been pretty good this week, mostly around goal. I was over yesterday but it was no…
  • Monica, how was your weigh-in? Sodium causes bloating, but at least it doesn't cause fat :) so if it made your weight up, it should come back down easily. I weight in yesterday at 133.6, 1/2 pound up. I will not meet my goal if I don't step up. I have a weekend getaway in Stowe this weekend, so I'd really like to drop a…
  • Ok, I was a bit over the past couple days. I have a few days for weight in so I need to stay under my calories today.
  • Sorry Auburn; one bad day is ok, don't let it become a bad week! I was a little over yesterday, not terrible. Today I go to work, so I need to manage the catered lunch. I plan to have very small portions.
  • Great job Auburn! Monica, I hope to be joining you under 130 soon, though that is still a few pounds away... Lambie, I hope Lent helps you stay on track :) I was a little over yesterday. I have nothing going on today, no excuses not be under my calories and exercise. I'd like to save a few calories.
  • Great job Auburn! Monica, I hope the scale gives you good news today :) I weighed in at 133.2, down 1.8 pounds from last week :) So very happy news there. I did pretty good with the batter--ate a little, and logged it as 1/2 muffin. I did not give in to tired temptation this time, but clung to my diet as the one thing I…
  • Yesterday I did good, but today will be tough. My 4 year old is having a sleep regression; we've been up since 4:30 (and not for the first time during this past week), and I am exhausted. We also have a couples night out tonight, for dinner. Maybe I will pass out in my soup and not have to worry about eating.
  • Great job Monica! I saw your hike log in my news feed and am blown away by your calorie burn! I am sure the scale will reward you :) Auburn, yes, I am calling you on it, so report back to me on that elliptical! And we will be baking muffins today for a playgroup, so you are right to call me on that. I will hear your voice…
  • Auburn : Sounds like its been a crazy few days! I hope your mom is ok? When life gets really nuts, try to be happy with maintenance just for a week. And don't let the daily weigh ins mess with your head too much, those fluctuations aren't always real! Yeah, we have to make this happen. So, if you want to find a middle…
  • I was really hoping for good news today, but I weight in a pound up, at 135. I'm sure the fact that we baked cookies yesterday, and I was picking at the batter, didn't help. My two year old son is really into baking lately, and he is constantly asking to bake something, especially being stuck inside with freezing weather.…
