  • lol, I know how you feel. It took me getting into the 40's lost for someone to really notice something but I am pretty heavy so I understand. It does feel good though to have someone notice your hard work without you nudging them, "do you notice something?" lol. They'll notice eventually, just keep up the good work. Edit:…
  • Lol, maybe that will work.
  • The nutritionist may be right that for your body you need 1500 calories. The problem is that after excercise, you're deducting from that 1500 and leaving the net to manage your body, you have to refuel and eat to get back those 1500 calories. The nutritionist may not have mentioned that part which explains why you're not…
  • If your net (left over calories after exercise) is only 500, then your body is only receiving 500 calories to maintain itself. That's really bad for you and will eventually slow down your metabolism. I can tell you my experience which has lost me 46 pounds so I know it works. My "gross" allowance (total allowed to eat) is…
  • That sounds really bad. When I saw your title i thought "OH NOOO!" lol. I do my own fruit smoothies cause I know what's in them but never ever will I again buy from any restaurant. Maybe you can use dunkin donuts smoothis or mc donalds to log 'cause they're just as bad. Except that yours had ice cream so I can't even…
  • My pleasure! Anytime.
  • I do my official weigh ins on Saturday's just so I keep better logs of it, but I weight myself at least every other day (only cause I forget everyday), just to monitor my fluctuations.
  • "The flesh is weak but the spirit is willing". This applies in this case. I'm almost 4 months in and once in a blue I'll still get urges to binge. I just try to binge on fruits if I binge on anything. It's a tough road when someone is battling a food addiction. It's real and it happens. All you can do is start over the…
  • I would definitely log the 500 calories you worked out for. Any puprposeful workout should be added as exercise. I'll tell you what I do for myself. I'm set to sedentary because my job is a sit down office job for 7 hours daily. MFP takes that into account when it gives me my daily calorie allowance. So when I workout for…
  • How long is the healing process?
  • I don't think that an attendant should refuse service for someone on their phone. It's none of their business. On the other hand, as a customer, I get off my phone when I'm being checked out because I think it's so rude. I've been a chashier before and have had customers be rude by not getting off their phones, but I would…
  • This is just sad. I'll be dammed if I try to prevent my husband from making his sammich. My guy wants a sammich, he's getting a big ole' sammich.
  • I've researched the calories in those popcorns and a medium is around 800 calories alone. I stopped buying candy and popcorn at the movies and just bring my own healthy snacks like a nutrigrain bar, or similar.
  • I get where you're going with this. The only problem with many doctors is that they're first soluction is weight loss surgery. And once you're cut into for any reason, it opens the flood gates for more problems internally. I believe obesity is a result of food addiction. The more you eat, the bigger you get, and the more…
  • Wow, I'm becoming a formerly obese person and I can't believe they get handicap stickers there. At my worst, it was hard for me to park far, but even I understood that it was my fault and I had to do something about it. Those stickers are not encouraging them to lose weight. It's just making it too easy.
  • When you're about to go on a camping trip and you're excited to pack fruits, healthy snacks, water, turkey burgers, and more kinds of healthy foods for the week, and not to forget packing your measuring spoons, cups, and scale, as well as plan out how to exercise that week. Now that's an achievement.
  • When you can drive through McDonald's and only order a medium sugar free french vanilla ice coffee without a second thought while everyone else is ordering double cheeseburgers. When I could drive by Dunkin Donuts and not waste any drooling on wishing for a donut, lol.
  • I feel like having a party just to try all those ideas, yum!
  • It's hard to agree that obesity is a disease. I see a disease as something you contract unvoluntarily. What we eat is a choice and if not done carefully and consicously, it can lead to obesity. And grant it, some people have thyroid problems and slow motabolisms but if you have those problems and you're eating healthy,…
  • You're more than welcomed to check out my food diary. I'm at 1700 a day now and when I work out, I do eat my exercise cals back, but that's a whole other topic. Basically, I love food too, and I eat lots of it on MFP. It has nothing to do with starvation, but more to do with filling your body with the right fuels and…
  • Unsure, but I'm 95 days in and counting. I find it addicting so I don't get it. Then again the community board helps keep it entertaining also.
  • It's ok. I think you were just venting about the lack of effort on someone's part when they say they want to do something but they really don't. I don't think you were really trying to make her look bad or talk bad about her. I get it.
  • Lol, your comment just cracked me up. I'm gonna use that in the future, "The Common Sense Diet" lol.
  • Try loading up on water too. Fill your belly up with water. I've also heard brushing your teeth helps because it feels clean and anything you eat afterwards doesn't taste so good. Try filling your fridge with things you can binge on that aren't bad for you. I would say binging on fruits is better than cake, things like…
  • In the beginning, the hardest thing was learning how to eat right and the process of eating to lose. I thought I had to nearly starve myself, which is why it never lasted. Now I'm doing great with that part. Currently, the hardest part is wanting to do more than my body is capable of still. My mind is ahead of my body and…
  • No way should you go with your doctors weight unless you were totally naked, haven't eaten, and it's early in the morning. We tend to weight more towards the end of the day because there's food in our stomach being processed, our limbs may be swollen from working out or walking alot, we may be head to toe in clothes, are…
  • I love my grilled chicken salads now. And not too complicated. I do grilled chicken strips, mixed romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onions (will never eat salad again without it), cucumbers, and my favorite, avocado. It's so delicious. And I sprinkle a little bit of salt and drizzle some extra virgin olive oil and wala,…
  • It can be fun if you make it fun. I have lots of fun preparing my lunches for work, which I also do for 7 hours per day on a computer. My lunch bag usually consists of some protein (chicken or turkey), either in a sandwich, salad or wrap (homemade), and at least 3 to 4 snacks. Usually 2 fruits and 2 regular snacks such as…
  • It's definitely doable. I've been averaging 2 lbs per week for 2 months now and I really hope to stay there. I eat all my calories allowed and when I exercise, yes, I do eat them back. I also only use this program, which you are meant to eat them on here. If I can't eat them all, I try to at least net 1300 (calories -…
