  • Just make sure you eat back those excercise calories when you do burn 500. 1200 is the minimum. You have to do this in a way so your weight loss week after week can be sustained, so be realistic and think long-term, not short-term.
  • bump...thanks!
  • Timex T5G971, $38 at Amazon, easy to use with chest strap. I love mine, does heart rate and calorie burn.
  • Just bought a Timex Unisex HRM T5G971 on Amazon for $38 bucks. Has chest strap and simple to use. I love it. Others are very expensive.
  • Make your diary public so we can take a peek.
  • Yes, eat your exercise calories! MFP calculates calories to eat per day without exercise, so you should eat them.

  • Just peeked your diary, you are way under your calorie goal every day. Body needs fuel, feed it, expecially if you up your excercise.
  • Is there a way you can transfer those calories over to me, so I don't go over like I did yesterday? I wish I had this problem. I do protein bars or nuts or something like that throughout today to ensure I don't leave too many calories out there.
  • Thanks for sharing Jason! The only thing I can say is focus on that 3-year daughter of yours and future children. Think about them and use that to change your behaviors. You have future goals to be there for them! You are 35 and you have so much time left, but only if you commit yourself to changing your behaviors and…
  • 1200 calories is pretty low, I eat my excercise calories every day and I continue to lose weight every week. You will not sustain if you are hungry all the time.
  • 21 lbs is a lot in 2 months, but possible, just be careful and do it right, MFP will keep you on track. I may lose close to 10 lbs my first month, but I have a 20-25 lb goal and don't expect to lose more than 4-5 lbs a month moving forward.
  • Well, don't really have enough info on you to know your goals or starting weight, age, dairy etc. But, if you lose 1 lb a week the rest of this year that is over 40 lbs. You may be ok. Just depends on how fast you want to lose. This is a lifestyle change so you should be fine if you stick with it. Just change your…
  • Yeah, you can add Crystal Light as a snack for each pack, I do 2 a day in my water and it is like 40 calories a pack, so add those!
  • 8 lbs in a month, wow! Outstanding! If you quit now, you will gain that back and more making it a bad year. Continue on and lose 8lbs every month and lose 96 lbs in a year! Does that change your thinking? I don't know how much you want to lose, but 8lbs in a month is awesome! And you should be able to get to your goal…
  • This is your first couple of days, so you can expect this feeling for about 2 weeks and it will subside as my night craving have gone away now mostly:-) But, drink at least 8 cups of water and the suggestions above with protein are good, but try to eat something every 2-3 hours so you don't have long periods with nothing.…

  • I hear ya! I worked very hard this week and lost nothing! Don't lose hope yet, maybe looking at this week by week is not good, I am going to try and focus month by month! Watch your sodium and drink more water so your body doesn't retain too much! Hang in there!
  • Okay, sorry, made My Diary public now! Great advice and comments!
  • Welcome, just start logging all of your excercise and everything you eat into MFP and the site does everything for you. You can see if you are not eating enough, or too much based on your goals. It has helped me make a lot of changes, but going out to eat is nerve racking now as I am always worried about calories:-) Just…

  • Welcome! I can see right off you need to eat more for breakfast and more often each day of the right things! You need to get your metabolism up and if you are working out that much you may put your body in the dreaded "starvation mode"! So be careful! MFP will help you ensure you are getting enough each day, but eat more…
  • I say, NO BIG DEAL! You are always going to be off one way or the other, especially when I think of excercise. You can't count everything, be as accurate as you can, but don't go through each day mearsuring stuff! The key is changing past behaviors and making smarther choices, portioning, eating more and often of the right…
  • Welcome! I will friend you! I grew up in VA and spent some time in Lynchburg! Congrats on your current weight loss, let's keep it going!
  • Yeah, same problem here! Domino's? Yuck! You can find a better pizza joint that that! You need to just focus hard during the week so you can enjoy the weekend. I would also say have a very vigorous w/o on Saturday to offset those calories if possible.
  • Welcome aboard! Good site to shed a few or more:-)
  • Welcome and good luck! I am on the same 1500 calorie and have do a lot of fruit and Kashi snacks with Laughing Cow cheese! Drink a lot of water and the more you work-out, the more you can eat. So, do 30-60 minutes of vigorous cardio each day and you can eat a lot more. That is what keeps me going back to the gym because I…

  • Just go to Strength and get rid of the hyphen and type push up or pull up, it is there.
  • I think you and I are in the same boat. My thought is to focus on my cardio and get into good shape for at least a month, then I will begin lifting weights again. If you feel ready now, I say go ahead and do it if you can, but I want to wait for when I can alternate my workouts and do cardio one day, weights the next and…
