Good luck. Use the fit tests every two weeks to help you see measured progress. I think it's the best way to keep you going. Insanity is tough to get through. The warm-up/stretch routine alone will have you dripping with sweat. It feels amazing to make it through an entire work out. If you can focus on continuing to push…

Keep coming back and making this a routine. Don't expect things to change overnight. The more you log, the more you learn about yourself. In due time, you will feel like a completely different person. We're here for you! :)

If I start eating chips/fries and drinking alcohol semi-regularly, my body holds onto it like it's a $100 bill. Just have to limit and enjoy sporadically.

Welcome and congrats on finishing a P90x cycle! You have succeeded where many have failed.

Decline reverse crunches are my favorite (I think thats what they're called, though they're not really crunches).. On a sit up bench, lie on your back facing the opposite direction, with your hands above your head, grabbing the part of the bench where your legs/knees would normally go. Keeping your legs as straight as…

Growing up in the south, my family was largely undereducated about nutrition, and their overall health/fitness suffered accordingly. I always struggled with being slightly overweight because I ate whatever they did (stuff they told me was "healthy" actually wasn't), and thought there wasn't anything I could do about it. It…

If you can get in the routine of doing it first thing in the morning, then that will probably yield the most success. As said by others above, the later you wait in the day, the easier it becomes to put off. Moreover, morning workouts always make me feel better throughout the day (I feel fitter, more energetic, more…

MFP; Jefit for lifting; mapmyrun sometimes for running

I think a huge part of weight training that is often neglected is logging everything in your workouts. If you have a smartphone, there are a number of great apps for routines/logging/tracking (much like mfp). I use one called Jefit. You can choose a weekly routine that is tailored to your needs, and you just need to find…

It definitely gets easier, mostly because over time you re-educate yourself about what is healthy and what is enough (mostly what is actually worth eating). Hang in there. The first few weeks are the hardest. Track as much as you possibly can, and you'll get long lasting results.

I've used Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard as well. Right now I use Pro Complex. It's 60g per serving (2 scoops), and it tastes fine with water. I have one scoop in the morning and one sometime in the afternoon. I think it comes down to price, whether you want whey or soy protein, and how it tastes. My advice is to try a…

Well I'll just pile on and say to go ahead and get fitted. It changed everything about the way I run, especially how much I enjoy it.

Congrats.. Nothing better than looking and feeling your best!

I turned 30 last week, so I still feel like I'm in my 20s. :)

Usually you can find cartons of egg beaters/ egg whites just next to the actual eggs, or possibly near the milk or cheese sections in a grocery store. In some ways, I actually prefer cooking egg whites if only for the convenience. No cracking or worrying about shells.

I always do cardio after weights. I'm usually dead tired by the end of a long run, and don't have the energy to lift heavy weights.

I always say that when you're exercising, the benefits are threefold. You're burning calories, facilitating the release of endorphins/ feeling better about yourself, and your desire to eat crappy foods decreases significantly. I'm hungry a lot more when I'm running/lifting regularly, but I crave whole foods that function…

I think that knowing the determination it took them to acquire that level of fitness is the most attractive thing about it. Girls who are able to put the blinders on and dedicate themselves to what they do are SUPER hot. Personally, I prefer slight definition on a flat stomach over a full blown six pack, however.

Insanity is difficult, even for trained athletes. I've never been able to get through a full two months of doing it. It's definitely great for you, but it's easy to get so tired doing it that you have to take breaks for significant portions of the video. Personally, I think it gets monotonous to do every day after a while.…

Recently equalled the highest weight of my life after a rough patch with stress at school, job hunting, and home life. I'm about to turn 30 and want to get in the best shape of my life for my next big move and new job.
