Keep the heart rate as high as possible and follow the rest periods that Tony T gives (if you can manage it). It is a great workout

think Im closing in on the problem - FRUCTOSE MALABSORPTION!!
-
right guys I wore the HRM for 24 hours - today was a rest day in terms of exercise. It calcluated that I burned only 1800 cals in total. Seems My fitness pal is over estimating my cal consumption!!
-
ive had the watch running for an hour whilst resting on the sofa - 100 cals burned at rest (altho I trained hard at weights earlier today). this is calculated by the watch, using my heartrate height weight and age (5ft 7, 165lbs, 36yr old male). I have a sedentary desk job. I assume it is not unreasonable to think I burn…

get insanity instead!
-
come on, we are waiting!!!
-
I take protein shake post workout, a multi vitamin with probiotic and cod liver oil. Im considering a Green tea extract too as Ive read great reports on them
-
come on mate - POST YOUR WORKOUTS AND DIET PLEASE!!!
-
I done 3 x sets of 10 assisted pullups with 30kg assist and 3 x sets of 12 dips with 20kg assist. Im gonna keep doing them to build my strength up!
-
seem to be stuck at around 11st 11lbs :( Im doing 2 days of weights (500 cals each), 1 HIIT workout (600cals), 1 x insanity session (700-800cals) and 1 x 90min football game (1000 cals)
-
if you were doing P90X at your max level I would seriously doubt you could do the other workouts on the same day. quality over quantity is what Ive always found to work
-
no this was the first time i wore it out running. Ive worn it whilst doing different exercise. I checked the data again - it says I was at 119% of my max heartrate. That cannot be right or else the 220 - age equation must vary wildly
-
I do the Insanity Max workouts - I burn at least 650-800 cals everytime
-
my wife has a really cheap polar HRM that basically times her workout and gives her the average heartrate - she use the equation to give approx. cals I spent £170 on a Garmin watch for myself that does it all for me :) that prob explains the difference between men and women in general lol

http://www.triathlontrainingblog.com/calculators/calories-burned-calculator-based-on-average-heart-rate/ stick your details into this and it calculates it for you
-
remember it is your diet that flattens ur tummy more than any exercise!!
-
i ate a slice of chocolate b'day cake today in work - 300 cals :embarassed:
-
save ur money and buy Insanity!
-
nothing lost this week again despite upping my cal intake :(
-
thanks Jim I have now set my goal to 1lb per week. that gives me 1560 cals net per day. I will give that a go and maybe vary the training a bit (I might add in a 3-4 mile run as that really helped me previously to shed lb's) what is your thoughts on my carb intake? too high?
-
thanks gt I am in two minds whether to eat the full 1500-1600 net cals per day. My diet is very "clean" - lots of protein, veg, fruit, wholemeal carbs etc and very little junk. I will keep a tight reign on recording things
-
cheers for your advice, maybe 2lb a week is too ambitious. If I put my activity level back to sedentary then the cals I am allowed will drop? Did you mean raise the activity level?
-
can you guys see my Food Diary on here to see what Im eating? (Im new to this - sorry!) My body shape is def changing and Im lifting much heavier weights and goin well at the Insanity workouts. Its just I expected the scales to show better results after all my hard work :(
-
Sorry I forgot to say I have changed my profile this week to quite active (I work out 3-5 times a week) so using the BMR calculation I would need 1712cals x 1.55 = 2653.6 cals. So if I want to lose 2lbs a week I reckon I need about 1500-1600 net cals per day. If Im honest I have not been eating that amount
-
buy all sorts of spices, garlic, soy sauce, chilli etc. mix with a load of veg and have with a wholemeal pitta bread. delicious!
-
Ive lost 8lbs and went down a notch on my belt today :) Another 10lbs to go
-
I started Insanity sessions last week to supplement my weight training - it is simply fantastic Tonight I burned 705 cals (going by my Garmin 405cx) doing the max interval plyometrics!!
-
I never believed in a cheat day but I do now. Last few weeks i was struggling to lose any weight despite being very disciplined. Last thurs I went out with the lads and had a total drinking session (about 15 beers!) and had a huge McDonalds at the end of the night. My weekly weigh-in was next morning and surprisingly I…

Im thinkin of buying Insanity...in 2 minds whether to get it or P90X I like the way there is no extra equipment to buy and each workout lasts 45mins The only worry I have is it all cardio based so muscle growth may be a problem
-
for anyone who has done the P90x program - how can you survive eating 1 small carb portion per day? I play football (soccer) and it would be unhealthy to contemplate playing a 90minute game with no carbs
