  • 1400 calories and you work with an elliptical? I can tell you that your body is probably in starvation mode. I was put on a 1400 cal diet by Mayo Clinic. Here's me in the beginning: 6'0 tall. 246 pounds. Only exercise I was getting was when I worked....which is a 12 hour work out. My caloric intake was based on my…
  • Hey ya'll!! Down another pound. It's been slow, but it's been healthy! I've lost 21 pounds. Everyone asks me what I'm doing, aside from Mayo Clinic's Bariatric Team guiding me (no surgery, pure effort), I tell everyone about this site! It has made this possible! Now....this is actually kind of funny....Sometimes, like on…
  • I had an imaginary friend when I was growing up. His name was George. I called him Georgie. I blamed him for the bad things that I did or would tell my parent's that it was George that made me do it. I vaguely remember there being a girl as well. I played with her sometimes, but I don't remember her name. The last thing I…
  • Yeah, I know what you mean. I used to wear 2x pants and 2x tops. I wore male scrubs for the length and sometimes had to buy 3x (for the length). My scrubs were huge and made me look like a giant balloon. I was pushing someone down to radiology at work...and another nurse I work this, my mentor...I told him that the new XL…

  • Hey! What a great idea! Honestly, on our floor, every nurse is eating healthy and a majority of them are on various diets...someone made a comment the other day that someone is on a different diet. Two are on weight watchers. One is on physicians weightloss. Another on jenny craig. Two are eating healthy and counting fat…

  • When I hit 16 pounds down...I hit a platue. It was cruel, I thought. Not going anywhere...just hanging around 16...then gain one...then loose one...It was annoying. But then, it started again. I didn't really do anything different. I'm assuming that it was my body....I may have been retaining water. My metobolism may have…

  • I was told not to ignore your cravings. Eat it. Eat it slowly and savor the taste. Suck on a hershey's kiss or two...or three....watch the calories tho. There are times I HAVE to have some chocolate too. Wean yourself off of things. You can still have chocolate, just in moderation. Best wishes!
  • I don't eat fast food. If I do, it's a blue moon. But then again, if you count subway...then yeah, I did that last week. Oohhhmmmmmmmm...how good it was too! :glasses: Here goes... Wt when started: 246. Wt today: 226 Goals: Become healthy. Not only loosing weight and inches, but eating healthy. Exercise: To walk at least…
  • I've just discovered a wonderful thing. Edy's Fruit Bars. They have very little of anything in it. 60 cal per single bar and no fat. Small amount of sugar...and 25% Vit. C. They are amazing. I don't recommend the lime....but the berry ones are simply amazing! Great for that sweet tooth! :drinker:
  • I went to get into my usually snug jeans and was like...whoa! They didn't fit anymore. I mean, they are like 2 sizes too big. That blew me away! I've also lost 20 pounds. I'm totally in shock! :noway: I can't believe how easy this is. I have a couple of friends who are trying to loose weight too and they always ask me. I…

  • OMG.....you guys are a hoot. Laughing at all of you! Someone said that they don't count walking in the mall, ***, or cleaning...I do...because everything counts. I'm not very active, so to me...anything gets counted. I've managed to loose 20 pounds, so I must be doing something right. :noway:
  • Oh how cool is that?? Love the website suggestion...going there now to check it out...THANKS!
  • That's cool you asked...because actually, I did put that in the search box...and got the preverbially, "NOT FOUND." I was like...hmmmm....well, "I" found it...why can't this place? LOL! Just kidding. It does burn calories. I see that "cleaning" is on here...there's mild to moderate and then there's…
  • I was in shock when I got on the scale yesterday. Yet again, another pound. I've lost 20 pounds in the past 7-8 weeks. It feels great. I put my jeans on and was in shock that they were huge on me. And these jeans are normally tight. That's a really good feeling! My undercloths (pants and sports bras) are amazingly too big.…
  • This happens to be from time to time. Once I have done it....and it may be an all day thing, I just start over the next day....or when I feel can be compliant. That means, it may be immediately.
  • This is exactly what happened to me. I jumped on the scale last night at work and thought...'I bet I went up a pound or two...' because I have not been exercising....And I have PMS. I was SHOCKED! Another 2 pounds down. I was telling everyone....I'm totally with you...16 pounds for me in about 6 weeks....Awesome! Congrats…
  • Everyone is different. You might have a little higher metabolism. Not to worry.:flowerforyou:
  • Yeah, I was gonna say...I'm on a 1400 cal diet because I am about 60 to 70 pounds overweight. I don't exercise a lot....If I exercise my cal intake increases....sometimes to 2000 cals or more. I have agree with rheston. Your body may be in starvation mode....??:ohwell:
  • I can't believe it. I had just posted that I was loosing motivation for exercising. I weighed myself tonight at work and I'm down another 2 pounds....I'm averaging 2 pounds a week. I've lost 16 pounds!!! :drinker: I'm so excited! I haven't weighed this in years!!!! I can't believe it....what has me the most excited…
  • Thanks everyone....that's very helpful. I appreciate the great help. Have a great weekend. :flowerforyou:
  • Okay....I'm doing well with the healthy eating, but now I'm starting to loose motivation with exercising. I keep telling myself that I'm gonna go out and walk or do something outside and before long, it's night time and too late. I was doing better with this. Another new problem is that I have been getting really hungry…
  • AWESOME!! It's a great feeling isn't it??? KEEP UP THE GREAT SUCCESS!!!!
  • AWESOME!!GREAT JOB!:drinker:
  • I'd like to know too...why? It's not my time of the month either and last night I ate a hole into the bottom of the nilla wafers box. It was the most I had eaten in over a month...Have no clue why. I thought maybe it was a combo of being tired, bored, and ovulation? Dunno. One of my doctors told me that when you're tired,…
  • Ah....benefiber has 4g carbohydrate. 15 cals in 2 tsp's. Ingredient is: wheat dextrin (not sure what that is). And it is gluten free and sugar free. It is pricey tho. But a large bottle lasts me a long time....there's 90 servings in a 12.3 oz bottle...and I only use 2 tsp's a day.... I feel like I'm doing a benefiber…

  • Hey Kim. I have been regular on 2 tsp's added to 6oz of water (sometimes with ice) a day. It says on the bottle that you can have that up to 3 times a day.

  • Lol...I only drink water and coffee too. And no, it's not weird...I added benefiber to my coffee too. Doesn't change the taste, but yeah, it IS expensive. I'll have to try meteumucil. Thanks for the tip. Yeah, I wondered the same thing...will my body become dependent on it...I'm not really sure. I'll have to ask next time…
