  • love it, and still using my fitbit "one" i bought in 2013, if it dies, i'll buy another "one" if they are still for sale. keep it in my front shirt pocket most times. Occasionally i count my steps for morning walk, in 100 step increments just to check accuracy. very accurate, numbers for calorie adjustment match progress,…
  • do you mean exercise log itself like you want MFP to auto-log example swimming 1hr? (i don't think the log transfers over.) or do you mean calorie adjustments are not adjusting on MFP, from your exercise?.. make sure in MFP "steps" setting your fitbit is selected.. it may not be selected by default...…
  • that fitbit adjustment seems high, do you do alot of driving commuting it may be counting a bunch of extra steps. i plug mine into the usb charger so it doesnt track steps while driving. they are there because you are more active than the MFP goals you set.. example i set my activity level to sedentary, and to lose 1lb a…
  • i dont think the actual workout log will transfer over, but if you are synced properly the calorie adjustments will carry over and show on your food page. i wrote a detailed sync instruction in the fitbit forum thread... community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10484773/fitbit-still-not-syncing-to-mfp#latest
  • try it, it should work, its not like its a sim card from a cellphone....
  • i'm glad its working for those that used my steps posted above, since it is working for others as i posted. for ppl still having issues, did you follow the process i posted above exactly? because mine worked within minutes. also (if you dont have negative calorie adjustments selected, you wont see adjustments until you've…
  • I have all day sync on and always connected off. All day sync randomly syncs to mfp/Fitbit, with both off it syncs when you open the app. Are you manually syncing when done with workout since both options are set to off in the app? And since u have a flex without a clock display to worry about the only thing I can think of…
  • probably wont ever update past lost/sync data since the fitbit resets at midnight. i use a fitbit ONE, so i dont know if the newer ones keep a "memory" on the device, but i doubt it.
  • sorry i have no idea if the exercise log carries over to MFP log i wouldn't think it would. But the calorie adjustment u earned on fitbit will carry over if your seeing adjustments now.
  • Also on the mfp website HOME/CHECK in where you log your weight is it showing steps there? Mine was showing steps from my Fitbit there but not adjusting calories till I choose the tracker in the app..
  • you revoke access via the fitbit website not the fitbit app, since your telling your FITBIT ACCOUNT to sync/talk to the fitbit app and the MFP app.. just revoking and relinking doesnt automatically change it to select your tracker, as was in my case. are you all making sure to check that "steps" section under settings is…
  • for the record i changed my setting in the MFP phone app settings. i just then happened to notice the website, so i took snips to post pics. it worked almost immediately. my exact steps. noting i do not use the fitbit desktop app and my fitbit does not connect to my PC, it only bluetooths to my phone. (if you look under…
  • Pretty sure in the FAQ it says to log all food and all non walk/run/jog workouts time/duration etc in MFP only. And other times just let fitbit do its thing while your going about your day or walking etc. Inputting "when" you workout should override the steps counted during that time. or just don't wear it when working out…
  • make sure in settings u select your step tracker. check the top post i just posted on. mine was set to not track steps as default even though the 2 were showing as linked. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10484773/fitbit-still-not-syncing-to-mfp#latest
  • edit* i missed dysprosed's response when i posted this but seems he found same thing i found except i changed the steps setting in the MFP app not the fitbit app.. ok, so update, i was tooling around in the settings menus on fitbit and MFP, desktop and apps..... i have an older fitbit ONE, ive had a few years, and recently…
  • funny thing is if i got to the HOME, and "CHECK IN" it shows the fitbit steps syncing from fitbit to MFP, also all meals are synced from MFP to Fitbit, but same issue,. it does not adjust the calories on the food/meals page at bottom. so for now i guess im stuck using MFP for logging food, and adjusting manually according…
  • protein shakes don't make you lose weight, its just a lower calorie option to make sure you get enough protein if you just cant bear to get it from real food. do NOT use as meal replacement, and DEFINITELY DO NOT use to replace multiple meals in a day. (thats what that slim fast garbage told people to do, and its junk) I…
  • i had to look up what a stone was, i am 5'10" and i personally wouldnt want to drop below 12-13stone. my goal is around 13 and to lean out. 10-11 seems so light for a guy
  • dont feel guilty, today is a new day, and besides, i do not know what your deficit is daily on here, but if you were set to 1 lb a week loss, thats a 500 cal daily deficit, so technically you only had 300 cals above a maintenance calorie number for 1 day.... dont beat yourself up.
  • 1st suggestion>>>>> just make 2 servings and split it into 3 1/2 cup servings so you arent cooking tiny servings all the time. "looking at a bag of white rice in my kitchen" 1/4cup (45g dry) makes 3/4cup cooked 45g dry divided into 3 to make 3 portions of 1/4 cup cooked = 15g per 1/4cup cooked so 30 grams which is (2/3rds…
  • i couldnt wait monthly, i only pay attention to weekly, but i do look at it daily, just for giggles to see how sodium and diet effect daily fluctuations. just ignore those numbers unless you are gaining weekly, or not making progress..
  • i like a standard 3 meals and 2 snacks a day, 500cal/300cal/500cal/300cal/500cal.... 40%p30%c30%f I am up at 530am, and dinner is at 6-7pm if i eat late at night and go to bed full i sleep like garbage. it all depends on what works for you. i have read alot about the whole myth of eating a majority of your calories…
  • i second the fitbit, love mine. i have the fitbit one you dont have to kill yourself with cardio, that sounds miserable. focus more on the weights, do cardio for health, and to be able to eat more if you are hungry, it's not needed to burn fat if your lifting weights and at a calorie deficit through diet alone. id say keep…
  • mass gainer is gonna have a bunch of other fats and carbs to bump up the calories if your trying to gain weight (bulking). i just looked up a random mass gainer: one serving: 3 scoops/700calories/17g fat/90g carb/46g protein. i use ON gold double chocolate whey and i use 2 scoops for each shake with just water 2 scoops:…
  • i like keeping my meals super simple with 2 or 3 ingredients a: easy to prep/cook and b: easy to track. chicken/rice/veg steak/potato/veg eggs/bacon/bagel fruit protein shake ;) i stay away from casserole/baked dishes/pasta&sauces/ thats just me though
  • to get an overestimated ballpark so at the very least you wont underestimate calorie count, you could just ignore the breadcrumbs seasoning packet and onions., weigh the whole meatloaf , divide by serving size, and add 80/20 beef and a portion of a large egg. example: 1lb meatloaf cut into 4 servings 1/4lb 80/20 beef 1/4…
  • avoid GNC and GNC brand powders unless you have money to burn for no reason., see if you have a vitaminshoppe near you, my vote will always go to (ON) Optimum Nutrition double chocolate whey, or order from amazon, prices always seem to be the same. it will always be the only one i use. i mix mine with cold water and its…
  • my food scale was 20$ or under IIRC, and it is all about desire for accuracy and fine tuning. what someone thinks is a handful of chips could be 2 servings. (that is just an example).. when i first started out another example, a slice of cheese on my wrap turned out to be 1/2 a serving of what i was logging. how do you…
  • there are thousands of posts on powder. here's the jist. 1st* it is NOT a weight loss supplement. when you workout you break down muscle fibers. body needs protein to repair and build said muscles. getting enough protein when trying to drop fat is important to reduce muscle loss. have your shake after your workout, so your…
