Hi, I used to run halfs and did a marathon. It's been a few years though so I'm starting from scratch. I have one planned for autumn.
-
Hi, I'm adding you! I have a similar amount to lose. I'm also getting back into running and aiming for another half marathon this autumn to motivate me.

@AnnPT77 thank you! I'll check out the link! I am going to definitely have to be more intentional to look for protein sources rather than the other things I used to prioritize. I still need to look out for calories and keep certain vitamins up but now I have another component to think about. I have a few vegetarian recipes…

I'm not vegan or no milk but I naturally tend toward vegetarian meals. I do eat greek yogurt and I've been mixing it with PB powder. The last 2 days that I've been actively working toward getting to my protein goal, I have been able to do it (with meat, eggs, beans, yogurt, cheese) and I picked up a couple of protein…

Hi, I'm 41 and starting this journey yet again. Also aiming to lose 40lbs. I was so close a few years ago and then everything went downhill. I could definitely use some help.

I want to be comfortable in a certain pair of shorts when we go camping/hiking. I wore them often 2 years ago and they were snug but now they're outright too tight (though I can button them, barely),
-
I could also use one... I try to keep my weight loss goals personal in real life but I feel like it helps to have someone actively on your side. I'm almost 41 and heavier than when I started this app 10 yrs ago- not the app's fault, I got sick for a couple years and put some on.

I have seen Vega and Orgain but it's good to get some reviews on them! I bought some Ripple protein shake the other day since it was at Target and it's not bad... better when mixed with oat milk to thin it out. It does have quite a bit of sugar though so I'll check out the other two and see if they're better for mixing…

Nope, I'm in the US which is sad because another UK friend recommended one that she says is awesome and they don't ship here.

Not veggie as in vegetable based but no meat, my current fav is 40g of oatmeal with salt/pepper and a splash of milk, throw 2 runny eggs on top and some shredded cheese (I do 18g but you do you). It's savory and filling. I had never had savory oatmeal before and now I'm obsessed ;) Sometimes I'll do a fruit side but I…

Gumbo! I could eat it every day and be happy. I'm craving it right now but I'm not planning to make it for a week or so since the family isn't in the mood haha

I prelog my food a few days in advance and I almost always make sure I have something to go with my tea after the kids go to bed as long as it fits my calories. Sometimes it's greek yogurt with mango and honey, sometimes it's a serving of fudge stripe cookies. I make sure to weigh it.

Honestly, sometimes I just don't feel satiated and I think that's okay. As someone with a history of binge eating, I could eat all the healthy snacks, go on walks, and paint my nails all that I want and I might still feel the need to raid the pantry. I tend to go from sweet to salty and back to sweet until I felt miserable…

I have a weighted blanket too. It's helped a lot in that I go to sleep by 1am instead of 3am. I try to wind down a couple hours before. Sometimes reading helps. A lot of mine is anxiety related and it's harder to predict that. I do try to avoid caffeine and talking about or looking up things that I know will keep me up.…

I had bad symptoms and ended up having a severe D deficiency at a level of 7 ng/mL and they wanted me closer to 70. I was on high dose D for a while and now I take a daily 2,000. It took a while to notice a difference BUT I have historically tested low on iron and B12 as well (I mostly have them under control but not…

'Crappy' chocolate or desserts. I love sweets and when I eat them I want them to be satisfying. If I have a cupcake (which I don't really like but sometimes think I do) or cheap chocolate, etc, I know I've eaten the calories but I don't feel like my taste buds or brain is satisfied so that's when I go into the…

Based on my own experience post-pregnancy, it's not too fast. Every pregnancy is different and so is the weight loss afterward. I gained roughly the same with both pregnancies but with my first I lost nothing (not even the actual weight of baby+placenta) after giving birth and didn't lose much until about 3 months later…

Hi, I'm in the same boat. Lost weight, my health got messed up and now I've got the weight back plus 13lbs. Buckling down as of a few days ago and finally back on mfp. Feel free to add me :)

I don't really like muffins... or cake for that matter. But I do like the muffin tops from the Walmart bakery blueberry muffins as long there's butter on it. Super healthy ;)

Prelogging really helps me stay on track. If I log my foods the night before, I'm ready for the next day, no questions asked. I still keep it flexible but it's reduced any guesswork and going overboard. I like knowing I've already set aside calories for my dessert ;)

I have a hard time with protein sometimes too and I'm not a protein powder person. For breakfast I like: - Greek coconut yogurt with a bit of PB and some fruit - hard boiled egg whites (and one whole egg) with turkey roll ups, a mini bagel with cream cheese, and prunes... I really like prunes but any fruit will do -…

I know it's been said but I'm chiming in anyway. Stop smoking should be number 1- I'm not a smoker but both of my parents were heavy smokers. I'm not sure how old your son is but it could affect him as well. I had friends tell me that I smelled like smoke when I was 10. I begged my mom to quit and she never would even…

I do a tree pose while I brush my teeth. My PT told me to start because I have a separated joint and it helps but it's also nice to keep my brain busy lol. If I'm going to be doing a tough workout or out in the heat, I'll psych myself up by googling 'female workout motivation' and read all the inspiring quotes or…

Exactly! It's easy to think nothing has changed but then you notice that all those little things add up. We live in a city now but it's highly unwalkable so I have to drive to a place to walk/run or drive to the gym (or workout in my garage) so it's an adjustment.

For me, prelogging is one of the top things I need to do. Also, looking back at younger, super thin me and my habits was a real eye opener. As I got heavier, I was like 'but I'm eating the same things and I never worked out!' But I DID just not officially- I'd walk several miles a day, do cheerleading, hiking, always…

I take probiotics per my PCP because I was getting random infections and we needed to balance things out. Honestly it's been the only thing to help. I did notice that I tend to get weirdly gassy the first few days I start them (sorry, TMI!) but that all evens out. I actually ran out a week ago and didn't buy more... so I…

No, you don't necessarily lose more weight by sweating more except maybe a bit of water weight. Some people naturally sweat more. Some medications can make you sweat more easily (or not much at all- I stopped sweating for months while on a migraine prevention med). I've read that fit people tend to sweat more easily. So it…

I used to be a big night eater- I'd have something sweet, then something salty, then sweet... until I was sick. Now, I set aside my dessert cals when I prelog. Usually some sort of rich chocolate cookie, or nice ice cream portioned out, or a homemade dessert. I try to keep it under 200 cals but sometimes it's over and…

I'm not sure if this is really a NSV but it feels like it should be so I'm going with it ;) I took yesterday off from logging because it was crazy busy and stressful. I needed to go grocery shopping and hadn't pre-logged like usual. We picked up Chinese and I got beef/broccoli but I only ate maybe half of it... it just…

I am crazy for sriracha- YUM. I threw it on some leftover chicken and roasted veggies recently and it was so good. Added to wraps, salads, any sort of meat haha. I haven't had it on eggs yet but I eat mine with ketchup so...
