I would think that if you walked say 5000 steps leisurely vs 5000 steps quickly, that you'd burn more going quicker due to your heart rate rising. try to keep a brisk pace for 30 minutes a day and you should see some better results.

My sister goes on crazy crash diets and uses egg whites to scramble with one egg. I think it makes her feel like shes eating more then she actually is. Mostly,people use egg whits for omlettes or baking though, they really bind ingredients well, though personally I wouldn't eat them alone.

Lots of people do it in healthcare, I hate it so much. That and "Dear" or "Sweetie", especially when talking to elderly patients/clients, like seriously, how condescending?!
