I say, build up your shoulders and upper back muscles so you can A.) lift heavier dumbells and B.) put more muscle on your bones to more comfortably support the squat bars!

its been a while since i did anything but beat my own @$$ in a Body pump class at the gym as far as weights are concerned. let me think.... Squats: never gotten to use the machines, just getting off a knee injury, so im only back up to 45lbs Deadlifts: i did the long bar with two 25's on each side last time i used free…

How do you figure? chest strap heart rate monitors literally monitor your heart rate no matter what activity, heart rate/time of activity = calorie burn. Mine is accurate for zumba, weight lifting, weight classes, hiking, even swimming.

You cant "eat whatever you want" theres still bad and empty calories. eating at a deficit (less than usual/less than needed to maintain your current weight) is how you lose fat. if you eat nothing but fat... well, its not likely that youll lose much of it, is it?

Fit bits are never anywhere near as accurate as chest strap HRMs. Polar is the way to go.

every time i mention the word "calorie" in front of my BF, its like he takes it as a personal offense/insult. Hes a type 2 diabetic, self induced... he snacks all day on JUNK, will eat non stop for hours... and if i wont share his ice cream, kit kat, or snack mix, he pouts and makes snide comments etc. im miserable when im…

it was so horribly frustrating when I originally lost weight over a year ago... everyone wanted to know my secret! they were so impressed and interested... until i told them that i stick to between 1300-1700 calories a day depending on how much I worked out that day... track calories in and out and work out 5 days a week.…

I literally just went through this, i am back this week from a forced two week break because of exertion headaches.... i thought 3-4 bottles of water a day was enough.. absolutely NOT, esp if youre working out hard, lifting heavy or doing a lot of lower body work like squats and lunges... i would get TERRIBLE almost…

always ask to share a lane, just jumping in and all the sudden AHHH! theres a body in my lane, is not fun... usually, if the lanes are all in use, ill wait till someone thats close to my speed and style stops for a breather, and ill ask if i can share. people who KNOW how to share lanes, do so just like driving on the…

OITNB, Master Chef (Hulu), Chopped, finished Daredevil... my mom gets me into the craziest shows on there, like Teen Wolf and all kinds of weird Sci Fi stuff lol.

I dont think they are selling them anymore, but if you can get them off ebay or somewhere online from a consumer, Les Mills COMBAT was the best program i ever got from Beach Body. awesome MMA emphasized cardio work outs. theres two strength work outs too, i did this program three times in a row before getting bored! and i…

classes! the 24 hour fitness locations have a great weight training class called Body Pump. its a les mills program, you can find all the workouts on youtube. i love the class settings, it really gets me into it with the music and gets me to challenge myself!

and THIS lol i had to buy a 36DD. good grief.

the VSX is pretty good, i like it over my new VS Knockout... i loved the adjustable straps idea, but the clip together bit under the zipper in the front pokes into my skin and irritates. :( i prefer my tek gear ones to be honest. max support of course

YAY! swimming thread!! Swimming DOES burn calories... i was a long distance swimmer in high school, so i have a bit of knowledge in the area... i hadnt swam LAPS in years before i started up at my gym in January this year. - Start slow! build up... do a couple extra laps each time... and if some days youre more tired, do…

Mine was... uhg. just ridiculous. I was in a bad place in life in general... stuck in a REALLY unhealthy "romantic" situation, was messing around, partying too hard, eating a TON of garbage, drinking etc you name it... Well, when i turned 27 or so, I moved into an apartment that had floor to ceiling and wall to wall closet…

im right there with you.. oreos and ice cream own be every weekend

im the same, though my weight doesnt fluctuate so hard... maybe .5- 2.5 pounds give or take any events on the weekends haha. i hit the gym 5 days a week and meal prep mid week, but friday night to sunday night its allllll forgotten. :(

OP seems to have stopped responding, i hope she comes back... BUT, i would go to the doctor and get yourself tested for pre-diabetes... thats what it sounds like to me. constantly hungry, even after eating or snacking, the desire for sugary things, and the depression most of all... its a quick downward spiral and a sick…

i dont think its blood sugar on my part.. definitely not haha

erm.... the morning is when you need the MOST calories to get you going and get you through the day so youre not making bad decisions later in the day when youre starving. setting yourself up for sadness doing that girl, you should really flip your mindset on what meal needs the most attention.

I agree with the weight lifting suggestions. ive switched my focus to mostly weight training with cardio only 2 days a week, the results have been pretty satisfying so far. and remember the adage... "Abs are made in the kitchen!" maybe you're not eating as clean as you think? ALSO and lol watch things like sodium intake…

See now, those two things are staples in my diet... im going to order what i want, and if he doesnt like onions or garlic, he can kick rocks or order some mint ice cream afterwards lol

1200 is definitely too low, especially if you're trying to exercise every day. I would talk to your doctor and have them refer you to a dietitian or a nutritionist to see what kind of diet modifying you need to do. i workout heavily, 5 days a week (eating back the calories i burn of course) and my net goal caloric intake…

same! i originally lost 44 pounds my first time around... eating at a deficit, tracking calories and doing les mills combat. I got a new bf and fell off the wagon big time... gained back bout 23 pounds (give or take a few on any given day... yay for being a woman!) ive recently come back and am now hitting the gym 4-5 days…
