I don't look to motivation much myself. Instead, I focus on persistence. I have found that dogged persistence overcomes everything. To each his own, though, but I would think motivations are very specific to the individual.

I'd wish you good luck, but instead, I'll wish all that anyone really needs... persistence... the refusal to give up.

Getting plenty of liquids is your best bet for beating this problem long term. Miralax for the short term.

SW: 390 (May, 2013) CW: 246 GW: 199 I would probably have lost more weight by now, but I started lifting weights Dec. 30.

Motivation comes and goes. It is persistence that gets me in the gym and keeps me going back. Telling yourself something is impossible is the first step to it becoming your reality.

I do high intensity interval training on an elliptical 3 days a week, and I lift weights 3 times a week in between cardio days.

The most critical thing is to ensure you are getting enough protein, especially if you lift weights. You've already lost 77 pounds, so what are doing is working, which I can safely assume means you've been routinely eating a caloric deficit. If you gain muscle, what you will find is that you can have a some more calories.…

I can't live outside the Internet. It's too scary.

I chase the girls on the machines in front of me. I never catch them. /sad/

Hi, this is me trying to make friends on MFP: I suggest working with your doctor to set a calorie goal. Beyond that, there is a formula for losing weight: 1) eat less, 2) move more, and 3) repeat. It's simple but requires blood, sweat and tears.

I salute you, dear woman! Man, that's some heartbreaking stuff... but you're going to face it not feeling terrible, but feeling physically so much better. Go you!

Mine was my physician... and after he said what he did to me, the only that kept him breathing was the certain knowledge that I could not sneak his body out of building to dump it.

 I love that... it's like relating spending money to hours worked to earn that money. In my case, I'd have to run up Mt. Everest everyday to keep up with my junkie food habit. I'm now fully addicted to fitness highs and dizziness from low blood pressure.... still a junkie, just different habits now.

That, dear lady, is EVERYTHING. Once you determine to act and persevere in spite of all else, all else is nothing more than future history waiting to unfold. Godspeed...

Quote for truth! Well said. I had the same Damascus Road experience myself.

I think it's a problem of an inadequate form of communication. No physical presence or voice = misunderstanding, especially when combined with hurrying to respond and/or not really taking/having the time to think out a considered reply. I doubt that the previously replies were made with malice aforethought. And I think…

Tips, if you want them... 1. I faced up to the fact that I am addicted to overeating and started taking responsibility for my actions, regardless of who did or did not understand me, 2. I eat less, move more, then repeat. Seriously, that's all I've done. ETA: You will be hungry, especially as meal-time nears. If you are…
