You've been at huge calorie deficit for so long your body is probably used to it by now but you have to eat more (WAAAAY more) or you won't see the effects of lifting at all. You need to eat your TDEE or TDEE minus 15% and yeah it's going to be rough while your body tries to figure out what all this food is. I just started…

Additionally if you haven't changed your work out it might be time to think about stepping it up. The same routine can contribute to a plateau.

I eat 1800 to be below my TDEE, there is no way you need less calories than I do (5'0, 124.4lbs) with exercise calories it comes out to over 2,000 calories. You need to eat at least 50% of your exercise calories back.

I went down almost two ring sizes. Two ring sizes and no dent in my belly...thanks genetics!

I start gradually. I went to the gym for a week and saw I lost weight. Encouraged by that I kept a food journal. I added weight training to my cardio another week etc etc the whole time I was losing weight because i was breaking bad habits but I didn't dive in (which would caused me to burn out)

1lb is what I put in and MFP said I could expect to lose .9 of a lb (I lost 2). I'm only 5'0" though. Short people don't get to eat a lot but even that seemed a little austere.

-sugar snap peas and hummus (hummus is about 90 cal for 2 tbsp and there's about 25 calories in 25 snap peas) -cut up bell peppers -1 cup oil popped pop corn (my staple, 55 cal)

One serving of Ben and Jerry's frozen yogurt doesn't break my calorie goals. Right now I've got the Liz Lemon flavor in the fridge it's lemon, lavender and blueberry and tastes amazing. 180 calories in 1/2 cup paired with a cup of popcorn (55 cal) it's my go-to movie snack when I need a treat.

If it makes you feel better you could write a couple things down just for your own curiosity to see how much over you go. You might find after being mindful of portions that even your "splurge" day is reasonable. When I go out to eat I find that I eat half a portion get a box and ask for my sauces on the side. My…

26 5'0" 1lb a week. MFP has me set to 1200 calories which I thought was too low but I eat all my back calories (and I add in every little thing I do all do because 1200 is the number of calories you need to lie in bed all day) I end up eating between 1,300 and 1,700. I'd tweak it but I lost 2lbs this week after being stuck…

It depends on if you plan to eat like a hobbit or not. I have very small meals and snack A LOT, the majority of the calories in my food diary are from snacks are little mini-meals.

I LOVE flaxseed meal. I grind mine in the coffee grinder it's quick and effective (although if I'm feeling lazy I buy it pre-ground) be aware it goes up in volume when you grind it (by a lot) so only use a little at a time. Flaxseed can go in pretty much anything. In baking you can replace one egg with one tablespoon…

You might be retaining water because you're working out (this is a good thing) I GAINED 3lbs of water this week but it came off taking 2lbs with it (whoo hoo!) Try to focus less on the scale and more on how your body feels/ how your clothing fits. You are probably losing inches and getting smaller.
-
You should only have it set to 2lbs a week if you are morbidly obese.

Nice NSV! Today I bought new shorts for summer job in a size 6. Last years shorts are a size 12!

protein powder in yogurt raw nuts salmon tuna black beans sometimes as a treat a glass of red wine or a half cup of frozen yoghurt

I was over estimating my calories keeping a paper journal. I came to double check my numbers (because it's free) and stayed because I like that it lets me eat more than I was letting myself eat ;-)
-
Some of it it came off today :-) I lost .4 lb (I'm pretty sure it's going to be 1lb when I stop being so freaking sore) Thanks for the encouragement. I was getting frustrated.

It seems to me like you're not eating enough. When I was 140lbs I ate right around 1500 calories and I can't imagine you burn less than an itty bitty short person weighing 140lbs. I ate that on my non-work out days too. Other times I've plateaued it's been because I adjusted to my work out. Are you adding…

I've adopted the philosophy from the book "French Women Don't Get Fat" I eat healthy most of the time but if there is something I really want I have it and adjust my diet accordingly (and I don't waste my calories on junky chocolate with a lot of wax and high fructose corn syrup in them) This week I had a half cup of Ben…

Eat 50%-75% of your back calories for a couple weeks.

Student who works weird jobs in Kalamazoo. Last summer I worked at the only museum in the world entirely dedicated to the cultivation of Celery...the museum won't be open this summer. It was rated one of the most boring museums in the US.

I eat my back calories because there's no extra credit for not doing it. The weight is going to come off at the same rate (1lb a week just about) it seems silly to deprive myself if I'm losing the same weight at 1,200 calories as 1,800 calories. I log the exercise and plan most of my meals in advance so it's super easy to…

This is how I wish I lost weight (in order): Tummy, thighs, bust This is how I lose weight: bust, thighs, tummy. Genetics are no fair.

I had this problem too which is why I joined MFP. I thought I was fine and felt fine BUT I hit a plateau. You will stop losing and you'll shoot your matabolism. I just learned how to eat all my back calories (and there were a LOT I'm car free) but I can tell you I feel so much better now. I eat a lot of protien and good…

No. But it's a frusterating size to be at because it's one of the most common sizes in America. I frequently shop second hand and hate it when I'm a size 10. I'd rather be the 12 or the 8 for the reasons you are suggesting. There is never anything in my size left! Also it's all about purpotions. Even when I'm a dress size…

I count green tea because I don't put anything in it, it's just water filtered through tea leaves. I wouldn't count coffee though because of the caffeine and because coffee always dehydrates me.
