If you raised your caloric intake did you gain?

Hi everyone,
After reaching a plateau at 1550 calories I recently upped my intake to 1700 a day, which is my TDEE -15% since I am getting closer to my goal. When I went from 1200-1550 I was nervous about it but I lost weight immediately. After going up now I've actually gained almost two pounds! My clothes are even tighter when they were loose two weeks ago . It's not my TOM and I haven't changed my workouts so I'm hoping this is just a temporary gain because it's really frustrating gaining weight while working so hard to take it off.

that could be your body retaining water... it's normal for that to happen after an increase in food to the body.0

That article confused me a bit. My goal is 122 so I now know to make it 117. That makes sense. What I want to know is should I go back to eating 1500 calories a day or keep at 1700 and hope that I stop gaining? My Saturday weigh in was 130.0 -
Additionally if you haven't changed your work out it might be time to think about stepping it up. The same routine can contribute to a plateau.0

If your calorie increase is still below TDEE, go back to the 1700 and wait it out. It will come back down again. It's a temporary shift. With weight loss, we really need to be looking at things on a longer term basis... like month to month. Daily and even weekly fluctuations happen. But the link explains the reason why. I don't think you need to cut right down to 117, but maybe 119. That's a very light weight. You would be unlikely to hold on to more than 3 lbs of glycogen stores at that weight I think.0
