I am doing her Beginner Shred which is also a 3-level, 30-day dvd. After which I will start her 30-Day Shred. Beginner Shred is suppose to be significantly easier so I started with that.

It is now 3:30am. I woke up in the middle of the night so sore from working out yesterday and my throat also hurts so much. I’m positive I am unfortunately getting sick now. I can barely swallow and my glands are swollen in my throat. Thanks very much for the response. In a way I am glad it’s a cold and not asthma.

Thank you very much! I hope I stay disciplined enough to stick with it every day. I’m truly tired of being overweight and out of shape.

I was breathing out of my mouth. I tried breathing from my nose but I felt I was too out of breath and wasn’t getting enough oxygen that way so I pretty much used my mouth the whole time. Sounds like a logical reason. Thank you!
-
I was thinking that. I just haven’t been sick in forever and thought I’d ask because it happened the day I started working out and soon after I had finished. Thanks!
-
Yes very much so. I had to stop a few times to catch my breath.
-
That is a good idea. I have no idea why I did not think of that. What do I do in the meantime?
-
Thank you so much, everyone. You have truly made me feel so much better about it.
-
Thank you. That sounds reasonable. I will eat what proteins I can. I appreciate your help.
-
Well I have no idea lol. Like I said I do not know much about this macro stuff I was not even sure what MFP suggested before typing this post. I was ony going by what the calculators were giving me.
-
Okay, that is reassuring to know I don't need to eat that many protein grams a day. I think I will go with what Kommodervaran suggested and start with the MFP default and also watch my caloric intake and expenditures like Aaron mentions. Thanks a bunch guys!
-
My apologies. I need to make an edit to my post. I typed my macros suggested incorrectly. It says I should eat 184 protein, 39 fat, and 82 carbs.

I am terrible at estimating prices in the supermarket and I wanted to follow the recipes because I am new to this calorie counting and I do not want to mess it up. I'd like to stick as close to the calories on the program as possible.
-
That is actually a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion.
-
Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I am a little confused about your response. I want to follow the recipes that came with my Insanity DVD set. It doesn't come with food so I am not sure what you mean by your response. Thanks.
-
Any idea how I calculate this?
-
That is what I thought you meant. Thanks for responding.
-
When you say "need to eat a calorie deficit", what exactly does that mean? I am new and still learning this stuff. Thanks in advance.

I should probably also add that my doctor thinks I have a thyroid disorder because of how fast I gained weight in such a short amount of time. Waiting on the results.

I was eating unhealthy. Sometimes fried food but I was eating so little of it I do not see any way that I was meeting my caloric goal. I am also not trying to diet. I am just trying to eat clean. As in nothing boxed or processed for the most part. Let's just say everything I ate at that point in time was from a box or can…

Hey Suzanne, it is nice to "meet" you. Thank you for responding to my post. I am glad that I have someone for advice who clearly knows how to take care of her health and fitness needs. I appreciate it. I was looking at your profile to see what sort of foods you eat so that I could get a better idea for myself but I also…

I am a 25 year old woman. I am 5'3 and 156.2 pounds. My goal is 110 pounds. I'd be happy with 120 pounds however. My starting weight was 181 pounds. I have not been overweight all my life. I just started gaining weight within the last two years. My norm used to be 115 and up until two years ago I had never hit above 125.…
