  • I can't imagine eating an entire coconut in one sitting. I've always eaten a bit and put the rest in the fridge. They last me days. Do coconuts come in different sizes, and I've only had giant ones?
  • All-Bran for breakfast. One cup is 28g of fiber, so you don't have to worry about the rest of the day. Fruit and veg is the cherry on the top, if you want even more fiber. Apples with peel are good. Bananas with peel are not good :)
  • I like that everyone here believes in the simple rule of calories in, calories out. I tried other diet discussion venues and all the "OMG you're in starvation mode" all the time drove me insane.
  • [quote= Thanks for this tip! I tried making tofu once and it was awful. So, to make sure I understand correctly, do you marinate it and then coat it in cornstarch right before frying?[/quote] I bought it ready-marinated, as "baked tofu", and then cut it into strips, dipped it in cornstarch, and sauteed it in a tablespoon…
  • Add me to the "Ensure tastes terrible" club. I used to work in wildlife rehab, and we used Ensure as the base for making slurries to tube-feed to seals and waterfowl (the vanilla one, not the chocolate one :)) We added fish, then blended the heck out of it. I can no longer think of it as vanilla Ensure; to me it will…
  • I grew up in Culcheth but now live in San Jose, USA. So I'm "from" Warrington, kinda, but not "in" Warrington.
  • Eraserhead. Where The Wild Things Are. Very different, but equally as life-stealing.
  • Everyone on my street got Raptured today except me. There's no one mowing, no kids playing, no one walking their dog. Rapture, I tell you. And they didn't tell me (I wanted to watch. I want to know if they go up naked or what).
  • I customized my settings, removing sugar and adding fiber instead. It drove me mad seeing the finger wagging tracker every time I had a couple of pieces of fruit that put me over the daily "allowance" before I even finished breakfast. I don't eat too much sugar, and since it's arbitrarily set very low which I can't change,…
  • Licorice is filthy. The only thing I detest more (that is an alleged foodstuff) is celery.
  • The Diet Mountain Dew in my fridge says it has 10 calories. I was shocked. I've never seen a diet soda with anything other than zero before.

  • Ours is very accurate indeed. We've had it since Christmas 2012 and it works perfectly for me and my husband. The manual does say that you should always use it on a hard surface, ie not carpet. If you use it on carpet, then you throw accuracy out of the window.
